  2. Aftermath Lafay was scared out of his mind. He was new, having only started working as a police officer a week or so before the rebel attacks started. Then, to top it all off, it turns out there were rebels hiding among them. If that wasn't enough, the revelation sent everyone on the force into a frenzy, and they were willing to kill each other because they thought someone was a rebel. He'd tried his best to Soothe everyone, but he wasn't that strong of a Soother anyway. Plus, without access to the outside world, he had started running out of vials of brass and needed to conserve them. Though, he thought he was onto something. With Sindale being killed, and Serdig being someone who had advocated for killing her several times, Lafay was certain that Serdig must be a rebel. As he was searching through Serdig's room, he heard footsteps coming down the hall. Quickly, he put everything in the room back to place, and ran out as quick as he could. On his way out, he bumped into Stick. "Oh, hey Stick," he said, "sorry for bumping into you!" He tried to walk around her, then felt a sharp pang in his side. It took him a second to notice that she was holding a gun in her hand, which was pressed against his side. He panicked, attempting to Soothe her, but he didn't have much brass reserves in him, so it burned out pretty quick. The last thing he saw was a barrel of a gun pointed at his head. ~ Stick walked through the halls, Coop trailing behind her. Once she'd killed Lafay, it had been pretty easy to disarm and subdue the rest of the police officers in the station. She reached the main door, and opened it up, letting in several rebels who had been watching the station and waiting for the signal of a gunshot. They quickly ran into the station, and she gave them orders to find Draff immediately. He'd disappeared at some point, and she didn't want him messing things up. With the police force mostly dead or trapped in the station, the city fell very quickly to the rebels. Both sides had few casualties, since the police quickly realized they didn't stand a chance against the rebels and surrendered. They held a public execution in the center of the Field of Rebirth for all the city officials who had neglected all of the common people of the city and the rest of the Elendel Basin during their rise to power. Finally, all people would be free from their tyranny. As the sun set over the city of Elendel, many began to wonder if this was the dawn of a new, glorious era. Or the beginning of the end. May Discord reign. ~ Ventyl was killed! They were a Police Soother! The Rebels have won! I'll admit, technically the rebels do not outnumber the police. However, there is no way the village could've won at this point, not unless one of the elims goes inactive. So I figured we should probably just end the game here. Player List: Here's all the links: Spec Doc Rebel Doc Kandra Doc Master Spreadsheet Master Rules ~ Okay, now for my thoughts on things. First, I'd like to thank everyone for being apart of this game, whether it was as a player, a spectator, or a moderator. I was honestly so nervous about running this game, considering it was my first, and you guys made this experience absolutely amazing for me. I wasn't sure how this game would go, and was honestly very worried people wouldn't like it, but I'm so glad that didn't happen. I'm actually almost getting a little teary eyed now that it's over. It's just been such an amazing experience, and I'm really sad that it's over now. I'd like to thank @Mailliw73 for being an amazing co-GM. Without him, this game wouldn't have been as crazily balanced role-wise as it was (more on that later), and I would've actually gone crazy trying to deal with running everything on my own. He definitely was able to help keep me on track when I kept trying to change rules because I noticed problems that were only in my head. Also, huge thanks to @Alvron for being the IM and giving some great advice when Maill and I needed it! Now, congratulations to @Amanuensis @_Stick_ @xinoehp512 @Snipexe and @Coop772 for winning. You guys played an amazing elim game, and if it weren't for @Aonar getting some lucky (or unlucky) shots off on a couple of you, you guys probably would've won this game ages ago. Plus, it was awesome seeing you guys plot things out in the elim doc. And the jokes in there were pretty great. Speaking of Aonar, I guess I should probably reveal the Kandra mechanics for those who don't go through the master rules: Plus, if they didn't have a spike in at the time they were scanned, they got scanned as vanilla since Kandra was technically a faction. Also, I'm sorry @Ax's Boyfriend that you got lynched D1. I was definitely hoping you'd be able to get some use out of the MB role, considering I didn't add a Coinshot at all. Alas, the Gods of Luck and Chance really seemed to want you dead. Huge shout out to @Fifth Scholar @Devotary of Spontaneity @MrakeDarshall and @Furamirionind for all the amazing analysis (though most of Fura's was mostly in the spec doc). Even if you guys were often pretty wrong, your analysis was awesome and is the kind of stuff I aspire to be able to do someday! Thank you so much @Young Bard and @Coop772 for pinch hitting for @Walin and Snip! Even though neither of you got to do very much, it was greatly appreciated! Also, gotta love the fact that my brother @Ventyl managed to break the Tineye role in his first game by making a group PM with literally everyone. XD I wish I could give shout outs to everyone, but I'm kind of running out of time, so I'm just gonna thank everyone else for playing and making this game awesome! @Lumgol @Araris Valerian @Rathmaskal @Sart @Straw I'll post more of my thoughts on stuff later, but I should probably just go ahead and post this now.

  6. The Tower of Nebrask stood tall above the plains, wild chalklings flowing out from its every crevice. It had stood for ages untold, and soon its master plan would be coming to fruition. Elsewhere, the survivors of a traitorous plot were devising a scheme of their own. “Where’s Caccoo Moreau?” asked Aiden. “Dead.” replied Kadal softly. “The Forgotten got to him.” “What are we going to do?” prompted Aiden. “We’ve lost so many already.” “I have a plan.” interrupted Mya. “We’re going to end this war, once and for all.” “I’ve already told you, Mya, it won’t work! We don’t have enough manpower!” yelled Kadal. “That’s where they come in…” Mya explained. Elsewhere, a group of classmates were reminiscing about their time at Armedius Academy. “It’s hard to believe it’s been this long since we’ve gotten together.” remarked Tendin Throk. “Feels like yesterday we were all fighting in the Melee.” added Vao Temer. “I still should have won that.” bitterly replied Joseph. “Matist was nearly down for the count, but then,” “Yeah, yeah, we know.” interjected Pete Gazon. They had all heard the story by this point. “Speaking of Matist, where is he?” asked Slavista. “Schmoozing it up with the bigwigs no doubt.” responded Miffed. “Jeesh, don’t they know that this is important? We’re here to remember those we’ve, we’ve...” Apla trailed off, tears welling up. Elysian put a hand on Apla’s shoulder. “We all miss them.” “Hey, let’s not all be down in the dumps! We’re here to celebrate their lives, not mope around.” complained Drake. Raising his glass, Jeeves proposed a toast. “To our good friends. May we meet again in the Master’s halls.” The remaining alumni responded with a hearty “Here, here!” Elsewhere, in the halls of Central Command, the Forgotten planned their next move. “Status report!” barked Samuel Kessen. “Thing are going according to plan.” replied Wyatt. “Isaac has dropped the hammer on the Fifth brigade, and Cole has subverted supply lines for the Sixth.” “What about our stragglers?” continued Samuel. Tory Farth fielded that question. “Don’t worry about them. Shanice has already gotten several of our operatives to monitor them.” He shook his head. “The fools plan plan to coerce an Armedius Alumni group into joining them, and then mount a desperate attack on the Tower. We’re one step ahead though, and have had Matist convert several of his classmates. With all of our sabouters, there’s no way the offensive succeeds.” “And you’re sure the conversion was successful? We’ve had too many mistakes lately. We can’t afford another.” demanded Samuel. “Of course, they were successful.” Joel replied. “Ronald was a fluke. That man never had his lid screwed on right to begin with. You haven’t had any problems with Jain, have you?” “No, of course not.” Sam broke out in a sinister smile. “How long have we waited for this? Nothing will go wrong. At long last, it is time for our revenge.” The Forgotten’s eyes glowed white. Elsewhere, a giant squid was on a mission. He plodded across the land, one thing on his mind. It was time for it to smash. The Tower was waiting. All the pieces were on the board. And now, after all these years, it was time for the game to end. Welcome to Long Game 57, The Tower of Nebrask. This is the conclusion of the 5 other Rithmatist games in this sub-forum. I'm Sart, your GM. @Ax's Boyfriend is helping me out as a co-GM. This game will be starting on July 8th, at 8:00 PM CDT. 8. Preface: I'm not good at RP. Now to continue with the post: (xD) Ok, more thoughts to come after reading the other docs. (For those who don't normally read docs, I heard good things about the entertainment quality of the elim one.) Basic preliminary stuff: I absolutely love all of you, and have not meant to sound sharp/snappish/rude/anything to any of you recently. As several of you know from my status updates and comments in discord, I am going through a lot of stuff IRL right now. Spectating these games has been a huge blessing with allowing me to partake in the game without having to commit at all. However, I know this is no excuse for how I have been recently. Therefore, this will be my last game for the next... 1-2 months at the very least. This will hopefully let me focus on my real life and get into a healthier mental state, which will allow me to treat you all with the respect you all deserve. Once summer ends I am hoping I'll have more time, but even then, there is no guarantee. However, this brings me to my second point: @Ventyl, it was an absolute joy to play with you this game. And while I hope to play another game with you where we can interact more closely, if you choose to stay, I believe I can feel comfortable stepping back from these games with you to replace me. (But really, seriously, no pressure : P ) You really impressed me this game, and if you choose to stay, I look forward to seeing you grow as a player. (also, if you read my comments about you in the dead doc, don't take the compliments too personally. : P ) @Fifth Scholar, just so you know, I did an almost 2 page analysis on one of your posts in the dead doc. I already knew you were village at that point... But my conclusion to that analysis was... You're an elim. : P Even after knowing your innocence 100%, beyond the grave, I still elim read you SO HARD xD I want to point out how funny I found it once I realized I publicly called out both Aman and Stick for being elims, and then village read them both in my player analysis. Granted, that day wasn't the best for me mentally. So idk what my conclusions actually would have been. Speaking of that analysis, most of you never saw it. In fact, only 3 players ever saw my analysis that game. Those players were Drake, Aman, and Stick. I trusted Drake 100%, but I made the poor choice to PM all the people I suspected. So I had PMs with Fifth, Aman, and Stick... And probably would have PMed Lum the next turn had I lived. Idk if I am allowed to quote PMs after the game, but hopefully if I am not allowed, it will be accepted in this instance. Because I want to share what I sent to Drake in our PM before I died.: I sent my reads list to Stick and Aman, but nothing else. As I go into detail in the dead doc, I actually PMed Aman a bunch after I sent this PM, and ended up leaving out some valuable AI info about him due to it. @_Stick_ You did really well in our PM. I prize myself in my ability to PM, but you completely fooled me. I still suspected you a bit due to what you said in-thread, but I generally trust my PM reads more than my thread ones. Looking back on the PM, you only ever said NAI stuff, but your tone just sounded very village to me. You did really good. Also, @Rathmaskal proved he is a god at village in this game. I analysed a bunch of his posts as well, but he posted tons of AI village content with a village tone. I wanted Rath to be an elim so bad this game. But regardless, I loved watching you get torn to shreds despite how village you were. xD @Amanuensis While congratulating Rath, I really have to call you out as well. Rath had almost less than a 0% chance of being an elim this game (which is why I wanted him to be one). You being able to get him lynched was... incredible? extrordinary? I honestly don't know. So infuriating and facinating to watch at the same time. I'll leave it at that. xD You did some other great stuff this game, like claiming Kandra and such... And while many people might remember that as your big moment this game as it was flashy, getting Rath lynched, I believe, was a much, MUCH more incredible feat. Anyways, after Drake and Rath died, I started rooting for a Hazekiller Final 2... But you had to let me down on that by killing Straw. :'( Anyways, thanks Stick for carrying the HK legacy on with you. And of course, a huge thank you to @StrikerEZ and @Mailliw73. This game was fun to play, and just as fun to spectate (probably more, but only due to my circumstances). I loved being able to talk to you both as well about the game, theories and such as well. It feels so weird to be called out for my analysis... That never happens! xD Death to the Allomancers! Umm, everyone? Well, let's just say that seeing the future isn't just from "Him"

  9. Thanks, @StrikerEZ, for allowing me to help with such a fun game! As was mentioned in the spec/dead doc, this game was mostly classic mechanics, but still was very close and set some new standards. It was a memorable one for sure, in my opinion. Most of my thoughts are in the doc, but to share with those who don't like reading through 100+ pages(shoutout to Fura and Drake for making one of the longest and most interesting dead docs in a long time), I'll share some of those thoughts again. First, a huge congratulations to the rebels! Stick and Aman did fantastic at distancing and pocketing their own various villagers. Aman proved once again that he has a tongue of gold and deserves his reputation. Those who know me know that I always root for the elims, so I was very happy with this ending. On the other hand, we had some very fun village maneuvers too. I want to award @Aonar the Village MVP award for singlehandedly (well, with Straw's help for Aman, shoutout to Straw for the first roleblock of the game) taking out two of the elims. Drake/Mrake showed again with his fantastic analysis why he's a formidable threat to the elims. Fifth, a man after my own heart, had gambits galore this game that helped gather lots of great information. Ventyl, it was great to see a new player jump right in and dig into the game; we have a steep learning curve here, but you did fantastic piecing things together and by the end were so close to solving it! Everyone else also had great discussion and it was so much fun to keep up with the thread and PMs. When it comes to distribution, those of you who have heard me talk recently have heard my soapbox about this, but this game gave me a bit of a chance to use my opinion. We intentionally messed with the distribution to diminish the usefulness of role distribution analysis as the sole basis for suspicions. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about the distribution. And, be grateful this was Striker's game and not mine. I had even crazier ideas than what we ended up going with. The decision to end at this point came because, mechanically, the elims had won at this point. Between us and Alv, we decided that mechanically there's no way for the village to win, so it should end here. It's ultimately unrealistic to factor in activity levels to the decision of if a game ends when it's technically met its win condition. Again, thanks to all who played and made this game such a fun one to watch!

  12. So I've noticed recently that some of my spoilers have been having a super weird format. I think I've found out the reason finally, and on my end, it was a relatively easy fix, I just thought that it could be good to point out. On one of the computers that I use to access the 17th Shard, I have the Grammarly Chrome plug-in turned on. I'm going to try to demonstrate the error down below, using a spoiler If I've done everything right, when I open the spoiler, it should show a huge blank at the top of the spoiler, right in the middle, there would be a 4, and then at the very bottom, it would actually have the content that I wanted to include. The 4 matches the number of errors Grammarly finds in my post. If I turn off the Grammarly plug-in then there is no problem, and the spoilers work without an issue, but if the plug-in is on when I originally make the post, it causes the error. Edit: Well, that's annoying, It doesn't seem to have worked. Let me see if I can find a post where it happened to me. Ed2t: This post, I actually used the quote box function, but the same error was happening.

  16. Lita had gone back to observing the room, noting that Laurelai was beginning to calm down a bit, her heartbeat easing in her chest, her breathing coming more even. Lita chanced a look at Voidus, sensing some kind of leashed energy there, and did her best not to shudder. She closed her eyes, replaying her observations to herself, trying to understand. Laurelai had been convinced that he was angry with her, but the oddest part was that Voidus didn’t seem quite angry. Lita had seen enough rage, and the physical reaction was different. The racing of the heart, the slight dilation of the pupils, the tendency to look - then look away. If she didn’t know better, Lita would have called it attraction. But that was nonsense, right? Lita opened her eyes, watching Laurelai again in time to catch her raise one thin, blonde brow at the TUBA contingent. The motion struck Lita as oddly familiar, though she couldn’t quite place it. She is quite pretty, Lita conceded. Voidus could do far worse. He didn’t really seem the type but then, what did she know? Bit vain of him, really, Lita thought with a tiny smirk. They looked remarkably similar. Same yellow hair, same pale skin, same... Lita blinked once, then looked back to Voidus. Same eyebrow raise. The edges of a suspicion began to push themselves into her brain, and she struggled to keep her face blank. Behind her eyes, Lita’s mind whirred. ”Did you work in one of my labs?” Voidus had asked Laurelai, back in Alley 0. Lita grabbed another cookie off the plate and took a small bite to occupy her hands, which would have otherwise started shaking with excitement. Stay safe. Concern. Not for them all. Just for one. Lita chewed thoughtfully, sugar and satisfaction mixing in the sweetest way within her. It was still just a guess, just an outline. Lita took another bite of her cookie and allowed herself a grin. A delicious secret indeed.

  18. Day 8: Safe at last (Aftermath) Manny and Gustavus made a break for it as soon as they saw the bridge. Quickly but carefully crossing the rope bridge they went and as soon as they were on the other side did they begin to cut away at the ropes. Several Zombies tried to chase them across but just as they were about to reach the other side, the ropes gave way and four of the plunged into the gorge below, very likely to their undeath. Manny and Gustavus were treated as heroes when they made it to the camp for there hadn't been any new arrivals for some time. And when it was revealed that Gustavus himself was Immune to the Zombie virus, a fact he himself didn't know, the entire camp threw the biggest party they possibly could for now they had a shot at reclaiming their world instead of huddling down and hoping the Zombies would die off on their own. Refugees win! And you all thought the Zombies were OP. The game is over thanks to the quick thinking of Maill and Straw. Both placed orders to cross the bridge and then destroy it. Not a single Zombie thought to cross the bridge before it was destroyed. More thoughts to come later on how I felt the game went. Needless to say, there are a few things that would be changed. 22. Catching up before reading this week's submission. Good start! I want to point out that I didn't have any problem at all with the mixing of a western setting with ancient Greek mythology. I thought you did a good job blending the two. The only real critique I had was the amount of slang used felt a bit excessive. Page by page comments are as I read: 1/2 - Sets the scene and tone well enough. I feel like just from this limited interaction I have a basic grasp of these two characters and what their life is like, though I'm assuming one of them (Uncle D) will probably be dead before the end of this prologue. - So I don't like the name J. It was a cliche western name even before Toy Story. 3 - A little confused as to how much of a threat the hydra is. It's dangerous but using a channel is overkill but J can do it on her own... I'm beginning to suspect it's just red herring to get these characters to the actual threat. Even so I'd like something more concrete with the hydra. 4 - "he downed the entirety of the flask, a pinkie raised" - I don't know what you were going for here but the pinkie raised thing got an literal LOL from me in a good way. - "for fear of her uncle asking her how she knew what grain alcohol was like." - Kind of a weird tidbit considering the type of job they do, but I kinda like that D would have an issue with her drinking alcohol but not with her fighting monsters. I think it's something young people can related to. - Smelling the dead cow is cool in world side effect of the magic/channels, but makes me think he doesn't use it very often? I feel like that's not a mistake you make twice. - I like the glimpse of the magic system we get here. 5 - Nitpick: I want them to ride something cooler than horses considering this is a world where mythological creatures are real. 6 - Are you choosing names that are famously tied to western novels/movies on purpose? It's slightly distracting. - Camel Rock? Like THE Camel Rock? I've been there before. I was sad when it lost it's nose. Does that mean these people are in Pojoque? - I'm starting to get the "Old wise mentor showing his soft side before he dies" vibe for sure now. 7 - Yeah. I really want some more conflict between J and D. So far it's really just him acting out of character and J noticing, but I think this is really taking away from the characters. Does he know there's something more dangerous than the hydra out there? - Since I'm 99.9% sure he's about to die, I'd personally rather see him and J acting normal. - Okay. This is way bigger than real life Camel Rock. - The growl--Grrr-sucks the tension out of the scene. 8 - "The hydra was dead..." - Cool twist. Well placed. Going back to what I said before about not knowing the threat level of the hydra works against you here, though. Could build early that hydra are very dangerous so this moment has more punch. 9 - "... trigger, the recoil sending her onto her backside and very nearly tumbling over the side of the ledge to the ground twenty feet below." - Wait does she even know how to this thing? - Is it just me or is the BKR Randall Flagg? - Wait. Your magic users are called Channelers? I liked the potions being called channels, but that's a little on the WOT nose. 10/11 - And D to the rescue. Decent fight scene followed by the death we all knew was coming. - Why didn't D drink an elixir real fast before interfering? 12/13/14 - "She downed all three down at once." - Oh dang that's cool! - So from that moment forward all my comments are basically: "Cool!" No complaints about the final pages. Good ending. Overall: - I think you have your pacing down and the world building was weird enough to keep me interested while being grounded enough that I never felt pushed out of the story. - My biggest criticism is that I really felt like I had read this before. I knew every big beat pages before it happened. You can get away with this in YA sometimes because your audience hasn't read as much and/or doesn't care as much about such things, though. - I do want to give special emphasis to Uncle D's character. You have a huge inciting incident with the BKR. Except leading up to this you have a smaller, inciting incident with D letting J take the lead. I thought maybe D knew what was coming which would've justified the double incitement, but it's obvious that he didn't know. So, that whole plot line starts working against itself because we never actually get to know the real D. Does any of this make sense? It's as if the whole J taking the lead sub-plot is only there to get J into the right place so D can sacrifice himself to save her. Yes, it is YA and you can probably get away with it, and I know we aren't supposed to do prescriptions, but I think it would be a much stronger opening if we see J and D on a normal day, with D being the dick J seems to think he is. That makes his sacrifice a] a little less predictable and b] carry more weight because you see his dickish nature was covering a heart that cared for her. Alright, onto this week's submission! Once again, sorry about the late feedback.

  25. The Returned are given a massive influx of investiture when they are stapled back to their bodies. Cosmere healing works by restoring people to their perceived perfection via an influx of investiture. The Returned come back in a perfect body (or what they consider a perfect body). So my assumption is that it is the same principle being applied. So if Kaladin became a Returned, would he still have the slave brands?

  27. Yeah, from an in-universe perspective having a cracked spiritweb (whether it's Kaladin's depression, Shallan's mental block or the trauma that snaps allomancers on Scadrial) makes it easier for magic to get into you, so you're putting the cart before the horse in assuming that Surgebinding makes someone insane. Jasnah has also been a Surgebinder for years now and if anything, she's knurd. We also know that Odium was involved in some way with what happened on Ashyn, so we alredy have a pretty easy explanation for how people could have been goaded into misusing their magic to the point of triggering a cataclysm.

  28. You weren't the only one. Almost all the Zombies stopped using their actions except to attack. Personally I'm very, very disappointed that none of the Zombies thought to get together and Thriller dance. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you join us for many more games. You didn't really ruin the chance with the farmer. There were four possible Events I have in the game. Day 1, if anyone used their claymore mines then a group of Zombies would've been drawn in and have to be dealt with. D3 was the Farmer, the first to approach without being careful would've been shot dead. The players would then have to decide if they retreated to safety of if they attacked and overwhelmed the farmer, resulting in the death of both the farmer and the little girl. The Farmhouse would then become lootable with guns and food. D5 and D7 were triggered and we know how those turned out. If I was to run this type game again it would have to be as a LG with separate Day/Night cycles. I must say though that I was very surprised by just how much everyone got into the game and how much thinking went into the actions. Well, all but trying to kill a cow with pointed sticks. Do you know how thick a cows hide is? You might've made it if you at least separated the cow from the herd first. Besides, the beehives were the target you should've gone for. Honey and Wax are very useful items, not to mention the possibility of gaining a Jar of Bees. Very useful for distracting those pesky Zombies.

Ah, I don't play draft much, well not at all, but I understand enough and the lands make much more sense in that context. Tensoon isn't a spiked creature. Well there is a lot of flavor text on some cards... Warbreaker's card should say "Until the start" or "until the end of your next turn" Finally, should the Lift card say Unblockable instead of Unblocked?

  32. Sooo...did anyone else get their WorldCon Schedule today? They put me on two panels, one about stories turned into computer games, for some reason, and one about putting lights and electronics on cosplay (which I was technically on for last year's WorldCon, but felt I didn't add much). Nothing on writing, martial arts, critiques, etc etc...basically all the things I filled out on their 20-page form. Anyone else get their schedule?

  34. Night 6 - A Failed Mission Sindale adjusted her tinfoil hat as she walked through the halls of the station. People had been giving her odd looks throughout the day, especially that Serdig guy. She should've been long gone by now, after she'd confirmed that the rumored mistborn had been killed. However, she was stuck in this stupid station. She was perfectly capable of escaping, she was Koloss-blooded after all, but then the police would suspect that she was running away because she was a rebel. And then they would follow her, bringing unwanted suspicion onto the the Koloss community. Plus...a small part of her had wanted to stay because she wanted to figure out who these rebels were as well. It would nag her for years if she never knew. As hard as she tried though, most of her suspicions turned out to be incorrect. She'd almost made it to her room to spend most of the night trying to figure out who the rebels were when she got jumped in the hallway by several of the other officers. When they were done with her, her tinfoil hat lay on the ground, covered in blood. ~ (2) Devotary: _Stick_, Lumgol (2) Fifth: Ventyl, Devotary Devotary was lynched! They were a Police Seeker! PMs are open, but remember that each player may only make one new PM each turn. Group PMs are allowed. All PMs must have me and Mailliw in them. Player List: This turn will last 24 hours and will end at 10 PM CDT on June 27th.

  35. It seems playable. I worry about AonDaa, 4 damage for 2 mana? Lightning bolt is 3 for the same price. I could never see someone using any of the land cards. Why can stick be sacrificed? It should be indestructible. At least give him an alternate win condition ability! Eshoni's form ability is perfect. I would buff Taravagian a tad, perhaps scry three, and give him some an ability that sacrifices? Can I have Neargoul for my deck please? And I adore your Vin! Wonderful take on her abilities. Does Duralumin and copper have any effect other than tapping? Are there spiked creatures? Is spiked a token, a subclass, a race? Ruin is good but he needs a spiking ability, "Tap Ruin and pay three red mana: Take control of target creature until end of turn, give that creature a spike token." and "Tap Ruin and pay two colorless mana: Take control of target creature with a spike token until end of turn" Edit: Rock needs to be changed: Defender, reach, attack buffs, and "Whenever a creature dies Rock loses Defender" On the less mechinacal side everything looks great and I think everything wonderfuly represents the abilities within the books. And the Kalad's Phantoms art! The best part of the set!

  36. The title (which by sheer coincidence I happen to have just now) is a reference to a game from Warbreaker. It's played by the Returned (and apparently by the very wealthy, but on a smaller scale), involves throwing weighted wooden balls of various colors onto a marked field and is supposed to be one of the most difficul games in the world. We have no idea what the rules or object of the game are because the character through whose eyes we see it never bothered to learn them, but he still manages to win constantly.

  38. Skybrekers, Edgedancers and Windrunners all get blades at the 3rd ideal Bondsmiths do not get blades. We have no evidence of any other order getting blades at any other ideal. Shallan did not get Pattern until she was around 8 if I remember correctly. A truth does not have to be dramatic it just has to be true. Some of her truths are different. I am terrified I can be happy. I personally do not think that Shallan has ever earned her armor but I also don't think we will get her full backstory until she swears the final ideal.

  40. A stormlight chess set. Might be better later on in the series so we have more representatives of each order but the windrunners or stonewards could be the pawns (due to their numbers, not a commentary on the order), Could make the bondsmiths the King and or Queen (depending on who steps up later). Elsecaller and WIllshaper could be each knight. Bishop could be skybreaker and windrunner or dustbringer. Rook could be edgedancer and dustbringer or windrunner. Having trouble thinking of where the lightweavers and truthwatchers should go.

  41. If his punishment was in error then the entire foundation of his belief system is flawed. Yes that means that he is no longer punished but it also means that if he had been a bit smarter he would have been able to prevent countless wars and death. This is the kind of revelation that would leave anyone confused and a little crazy. Also Szeth lets Kaladin kill him once he realizes that Kaladin is right. Kaladin managed to fall 40 feat while testing his abilities without mastering the lashings yet. This indicates that stormlight allows you to survive blunt force trauma without damage. Kaladin also falls with Szeth without lashing himself and survives. Kaladin's bond with Syl is weakening but it does not compleatly die until he falls and Syl sacrifices herself to give him that last bit of stormlight(he herd her screams when he killed her). More like his recklessness. Remember Sadeas is killing hundreads of Parshendi every few days. His most aggressive and reckless tendencies are at the forefront. Dalinar had planned on doing something similar for some time before then. Kaladin's appearance just made a good opportunity. Remember he bonded the blade in secret and then left it for Ameram to find as a test of his honor. He new for a fact that Ameram had failed the test so he chose a good opportunity to tell him that he new. He chose that exact moment because Kaladin was present(giving Amaram's moral compass time to prod at him) and because it was a public venue so Ameram could not spin the encounter to his advantage latter(there were to many witnesses). There are even larger gemstones that hold a charge for even longer(they are just not used as currency). A surgebinder can move stormlgiht between gemstones. So Szeth could have gotten a huge gemestone(like the gemhearts from the casmerefiends for example) and tranfered some it if's stormlight into a smaller gemstone for convenience. Also a week is more of an average. Some gemstones hold for a bit longer.

  47. Okay, this makes a lot of sense. I thought that Cultivation was just tricking and deluding T, but that is exactly the point - the Diagram is meant to trick everyone, including T and even Odium. I am still a bit confused, however, as to whether T cognitively knows that he is tricking Odium, or if he genuinely believes that he is only working to save Kharbranth and that the rest of Roshar will be sacrificed. At what level is T manipulating Odium, and at what level is T being manipulated? Does he realize that the whole Kharbranth cover is just a ploy, that he is actually tricking Odium while he works to save all of Roshar behind his back? This was not imminently clear to me when I read the Taravangian chapter at the end of OB.

  48. Think of genius T and not genius T as two different people. Genius T (basically just Cultivation) is conning everyone, including normal T. Genius T knew that the king of the world plan wouldn't work. In order to trick Odium though, he had to make it seem like that is the real plan, which is why he took over JKeved. That was never the real plan, but he had to sell the feint. The real plan isn't written in the Diagram. The purpose of the Diagram is just to manipulate Odium. Normal T needs to think that it is real though, so that Odium doesn't see through the lie. No idea what the end game is, but it's not whatever the Diagram says
