  1. Day 8- No Matter Where My Journey Goes "So, you've been the one flying this weird ship. Why won't you show it to us?" Steel asked Bad Wolf. Bad Wolf looked nervous. "Uh, he does- I don't think it will allow anyone but me to touch it. It might well self destruct if you try and mess around with it." Steel frowned. He? Well, he didn't have the time to question it. Another lifebuster had showed up, and he needed all the resources he could get. A few minutes later, his tiny flight faced down the lifebuster. Each of them shot at it, trying to drive it off, including Bad Wolf in her incredibly fast ship. But it wasn't going to be enough. "Junior, I need you to shoot it down! I need you to shoot it down now!" But Juniors ship was unresponsive. She likely was having a panic attack. Steel watched as the lifebuster, barely holding itself together, began to drop its deadly cargo. And then Bad Wolf was there. "Bad Wolf, you need to activate my hyperdrive systems." M-Bot said. "I know, I know! But I don't know how!" she yelled. "You need to do it! I can't do it by myself." M-Bot said, a quaver in his voice. He would die too, after all. Bad Wolf said nothing, but clutched Doomslug to her. "Doomslug, I'm so sorry you never found your mushrooms." Doomslug fluted. Bad Wolf closed her eyes. But... what was that yellow light? Was it the lifebuster bomb? She opened her eyes again, and found doomslug glowing. What in the world? And then- she was falling. M-Bot was gone, as was doomslug. Where had they gone? Steel watched as suddenly the lifebuster and M-Bot disappeared. He reacted instantly, diving at the falling person coming from where M-Bot had been only moments before. Where had her ship gone? What had just happened? His little flight landed back in the hangar, supremely confused about what had just happened. Bad Wolf seemed just as confused, if not more so. But she was also in shock. Steel put a blanket around her, and sat down. "Guess you'll have to use a normal ship now, huh." Bad Wolf trembled. "After all that work fixing him... what happened? Why did doomslug glow like that?" For once, Doomslug and M-Bot had been in total agreement. For mushrooms, for Bad Wolf, they had chosen to whisk death away. Whether they would survive, they did not know. But at least they would give her a fighting chance. _____________ The lifebuster was not destroyed, but disappeared mysteriously! M-Bot has been removed from the game, as has Doomslug. No one was shot down. Poco-10 and Largo 2 both have their shields down. The lynch is open now. The turn will end at 8:00 AM EDT, 6/11/19. Fura (1)

  3. Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no. It's my first day for Harmony's sake. I'm not ready for this. The Chief's office was a bit too small for everyone, so he ended up standing just outside the door, but he still had a good view of the proceedings. Someone was already dead? Officers were trying to kill other officers? Leaning against the wall, it took Ainm a moment to realize he was hyperventilating. Come on man, get a hold of yourself. Breathe in, breathe out. In the brief pause as Ainm tried and failed to calm down, arguments and hushed discussion broke out in the rather cramped room. Accusations flew, although none had any real heat to them, yet. A few, he noticed, even mentioned his name. Oh rust. I'm going to die. Alright, first things first, I'd like to accuse Aman of money laundering. No one has that many Villager Bucks(TM) to give away. In other news, joining this game was a horrible idea. Whatever. Most points I would like to make have been covered by others; assuming role madness is a bad assumption; I would guess one of each, although not with high confidence (perhaps 65%?). If anything has been dropped, it was probably the coinshot (or perhaps the Mistborn), as the Kandra likely has a kill and hypothetical four kills a cycle (lynch, Kandra, Coinshot, Elim) will tear through the players in no time. (Likewise, if anything was doubled up, it was probably protective, IE lurcher/thug/smoker/hazekiller (although Hazekiller seems unlikely).) Likewise; although in an ideal situation a village Thug would not choose to protect themselves from the lynch, I would not bank on a hypothetical Thug actually following through. /shurg Maybe I'll be proven wrong on that though, we'll see. Regardless, best policy will be to double-tap anyone who survives a lynch. If there was any other comment-worthy discussion this cycle, I missed it, and wouldn't mind having it pointed out. I am hoping to be more active this game than I was the last couple I tried to play, but I can't 100% promise, sorry.

  4. Hey Mrake. Have I ever told you that you remind me of an old friend, Drake? Since Fifth already responded to your role commentary, I don't really have much to add. But I do want to say is I didn't even consider Hazekillers being more useful for eliminators over villagers. Considering your post was the 2nd in the game and within the first hour of the game starting, I'm willing to bet this is a genuine discovery on your part rather than a deliberate misdirection. So in other words, Mrake just earned two whole bills of my patented Villager Bucks (TM). I was about to ask if we can make PMs during the day or night, but instead of being lazy I just looked myself. So here's a big ole REMINDER: Every player can only make 1 PM every turn, but they CAN be group PMs. Considering that Tineye's have the ability to see who has PM's with who, please be very mindful of who you reach out to and how much you share in the thread about the contents of said PMs. If the elims have one, this could put some good roles in danger. As for Village Tineyes, don't forget to use this ability even if it seems a little underwhelming. If someone knows that I only had one PM with Mrake, for example, and I died fairly early on in the game with an important role, it could be indication that I claimed to him and he killed me for it. While not every situation will be as cut and dry, every piece of information the village has to determine the elims, the better. That all said, please do your best to keep being a village Tineye a secret. More likely than not, the elims would prefer to eliminate PMs entirely. Now, for the question addressed to me. It's too early for me to have any suspicions. Only thing I can say with a relative degree of certainty is, that based on the 20% rule, we're dealing with either 3 or 4 elims and 1 kandra (serial killer). Since 17 is closer to 15 than 20, it's probably reasonable to assume 3 elims + SK. As always, however, I personally will treat this game as the worst scenario (4 elims) so that way I don't get caught off guard, while advising other villagers to keep this in mind as well. Mostly just wanted to say I agree with your assessment of the kill roles. Also very curious how the kandra works. Part of me wants to kill them ASAP to find out. The other part wants them to live for a bit so they can really experience their role the way it was meant to. Tangent aside, Devotary. Have yourself a Villager Buck (TM) for your effort. Just responding to the bits between the ellipsis. ... First off, I'm personally not a fan of poke votes. I don't find that they really accomplish anything, as they're more akin to a person shouting into the void than them actively trying to solve a crime. Since it's the beginning I'll naturally give people some leeway with their votes. I just am not willing to encourage it ... Honestly should have just quoted Ventyl's post, since all I wanted to do was add my own welcome aboard. But anyway, @Ventyl, I'm very glad to have you join us and I look forward to getting to know you as a person and player! ... I'm pretty sure the Kandra was stated to have secret abilities somewhere. Can't remember the exact wording but... yeah, no way they don't have something going for them. I think you might have read Devotary's post wrong tbh. That last paragraph threw me off a bit, but after reading it the third time I think they're saying that if a Mistborn exists, they are certainly not an eliminator. Oh wait nvm that second sentence is... hm. I think the point is they don't want Thugs to survive lynches. If that's the case, can we maybe agree that no Village Thug should use their ability during the day? I don't think last minute wagons is the answer either and... hm. Yeah sorry Devotary, I won't vote on you but I'd like that Villager Buck (TM) back Fifth, here. You can have it ED1T: Missed the most important thing. Vote count! (1) Walin: Ark1002, (1) Amanuensis: MrakeDarshall, (1) Fifth Scholar: Furamirionind, (1) Ark1002: Ventyl, (1) Devotary of Spontaneity: Fifth Scholar, ED2T: Been waiting for someone else to post so I could prod those who haven't yet posted. Since I've only seen @Sart and @Aonar reading this thread since, I'll just go ahead and edit it in. @Araris Valerian, @Rathmaskal, @Walin, @Straw, @_Stick_, @Snipexe, @xinoehp512. The game has begun. Please do your best to post at least 2 times every turn. We shouldall be trying to avoid any deaths via inactivity filter, so going forward I'll consider it a part of my responsibility to reach out and get people involved if they're having trouble keeping up.

  5. Alright everyone, the votes have been cast and counted, and the time has come to announce the winner of the Cosmere Character Roast Battle Tournament of Champions! And without further ado, the greatest Roaster in all the Cosmere is- *Drumroll please! ... And now, with that done, you might be wondering, what's next? Well first off, a small announcement to make. @Paranoid King offered to be a Co-Moderator, and @John203 agreed to let him take his place. So a big thank you to @John203 for the work you've done over the past couple months helping me run this! And @Paranoid King, I look forward to working with you on the next tournament. And yes, a new tournament is in the works. We'll give it a few days for the dust to settle from the Championship tournament, and then we'll announce and open up sign-ups for the next one (That will also give me a chance to coordinate with my new co-GM). Lastly, I could use one or more volunteers to help out a bit. In the very first post of this thread, @Ashspren has a link to an Archive with links to all of the roasts that have been submitted throughout all the tournaments. However, it hasn't been updated in a while. I've been wanting to get it up to date but I haven't had time and don't know if/when I'll ever get around to it. So if someone wanted to go through the thread and fill out the doc with the last couple of tournaments (including links to the roasts) that would be fantastic, and I'll be sure you get showered with lots of upvotes for your efforts. Thanks in advance!

  8. Mac watched as Lita considered his question, tried to figure out the best way to respond, then said "You want the people of this city to see the Dark Alley as more than a den of horrors and villains? You don't just want to rule these people, do you sir? You want to lead them." "Not quite," He replied smoothly "the first part is certainly true, bad PR is never a good thing, but it's not my primary purpose behind doing this. And before you guess again, it's also not related to my philosophy about the Eternal Nature of the Soul from earlier. It ties into what makes me different from the other leaders of the Dark Alleys." He frowned as he thought of the other leaders. They had changed themselves and each other so much that none of them could be considered human anymore, not only in terms of DNA or Spiritwebs, but in terms of motivation. They took their focus on pushing the bounds of science and blew it up till it consumed them. What had started as a healthy desire to learn more grew and grew until there was nothing left but science and the push for progress. To their credit they had done amazing things, and the knowledge that they had gained is invaluable, but sometimes the price was too high to make it worth it. @ZincAboutIt

  9. The police station was eerily quiet as Draff walked in. They’d lost another man last night, and the bomber had managed to get away, so everyone was treading lightly around the chief. Where is the chief, anyway? Draff thought to himself. Almost on cue, the chief appeared around the corner, several officers following him with...was that Lyrelle in custody? Draff couldn’t believe it. Lyrelle had been on the force for years now, why were they arresting her? “Draff,” the chief said, “go gather up everyone and bring them to my office. I’ve got an announcement to make.” Draff watched as the chief and his procession walked down the hallway, presumably to go put Lyrelle in a temporary detaining facility until they could take her to a more secure location. Confused, he went to go gather everyone up for the chief’s announcement. ~ By the time Draff had gathered everyone up, he’d heard so many questions about what was happening, he swore he’d go mad if he heard someone ask, “What are they doing with Lyrelle?” one more time. Finally, the chief walked in, without Lyrelle in tow. “As you all know, we lost a valuable officer, Danton, last night.” He paused for a moment, as if he wasn’t sure what he wanted to say next. “Before we found Danton’s body last night, Orlen found Lyrelle attempting to damage her own person, a few hundred meters from the site of the crime. “After some investigation and interrogation, we have come to the conclusion that Lyrelle is a member of the rebel organization attempting to overthrow the peace in Elendel and the rest of the Elendel Basin.” Draff couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Lyrelle, a rebel? She’d been a close friend of his in the force for as long as he could remember. How long had she been planning to turn on him and the others? The chief motioned for everyone to get quiet so he could continue. Once the last whispers had faded away, he said, “There is one more important piece of information you all must know. Lyrelle was...persuaded to reveal to us whether or not she had other accomplices within the force. “We could not get her to tell us who they were, but we know there are at least a few more officers, that Lyrelle knew of at least, who have joined the force to undermine our operations or have become sympathetic to the rebels’ cause. “I need each and everyone of you to work together to root out these rebels as we continue our investigation. We cannot afford to risk losing the city because we were unable to trust every officer we have.” LG56 has begun! PMs are open, but remember that each player may only make one new PM each turn. There is a two-vote minimum for a lynch and a tied lynch results in one of the tied lynchees’ death. The Day will end on Tuesday, June 11 at 7:30 CDT. Player List:

  10. Lita stretched her neck from one side to the next to try and roll out the sudden wave of irritation that passed through her. What did it matter why Mac did any rusting thing at all? He could tear down the city and build it again in all likelihood - who was Lita to guess at his whims? She was a spy, not some Pathian asking questions of a mute god. Am I to play dog-catcher to every stray child in Alleycity, now? She narrowed her eyes at the mother, who was now pressing her daughter against her chest and weeping through her own laughter. Somewhere very deep, a piece of her self-control snapped like a frayed bowstring. "Atonement, perhaps, sir?" Lita said, biting off the end of the honorific. "For all the bits and pieces of 'Eternal Nature of the Soul' you've been ripping out of these poor bastards and stapling into yourself?" What are you doing? The voice in her head screamed, horrified. But Lita kept talking, eyes never leaving the woman and her child, tin letting her catch every tear, every whispered tender word. She could hear her own heartbeat in her ears, hard and fast, straining against the cage of her ribs. "Maybe it pleases you to trot amongst the wretches when you're not using them, bestowing reminders of your watchful care, lending a hand every once in a while to fool them into thinking you're a benevolent god. Maybe if they sing it back to you for long enough, even you will believe it." A tiny, hysterical laugh bubbled out between her lips and she looked down at her forearms, and the rows of tiny spikes there. "Am I just another Faceless Immortal, then, here to be the eyes and ears of a god who ties his own hands and calls it 'right'?"

  11. Aww, she thinks she's being bold. Clearly she's never visited the DA Budgeting meetings. "Before we continue," He started "I would like to say that you aren't being bold. You are just asking a question, those are always good to ask. It's also a good idea, as you have done, to occasionally present your own ideas. It makes the conversation infinitely more useful for the both of us, as well as interesting." He took a breath then continued. "Now onto your point. It certainly is easier to say this after the fact, when I have forgotten the things that held me back. When the memory of powerlessness is far of in the distance. But what never leaves you are the regrets. The choices that you wish you didn't make. The things you wish you never changed. The prices you wish you never paid. You say you know the feeling of limits, but you only see them as the things that have been placed on you. The limitations of others. Those storming suck, they are terrible. No one should have to listen to the limits placed on them by others." Mac breathed for a moment refocusing himself. "What I am referring to is the limitations you give yourself. The prices you aren't willing to pay. Those give you more power and control than anything else in the Universe. To answer your question, it's not terrible to wish to push the boundaries. To wish for control. But it is terrible to wish for those things without realizing the costs you pay. To give up what you loved most, without even realizing it's gone. Limits keep you from doing that. They keep you from giving up what you never want to lose. You need to stop yourself before you pay the price because oftentimes you never want to go back after you paid it. You regret your choices and want to go back to the way things are, but either you can't or won't. Because the price to return can be higher than the price you paid to get there." Mac paused, considering if he wanted to share his story. "When I died the second time, I tried to figure out how I ended up there. I was the strongest being in the multiverse, I had the power of over 9000 adonalsiums, yet I ended up killing myself. I realized it was because I gave up what I loved most. My control. I started plots and plans that I couldn't free myself from. Before that I literally gave up my sanity, destroying a large portion of the city in a fit of rage. I took a break for 20 years, and when I returned I swore that I would never lose my control again." Mac reached up to wipe the corner of his eye. Regret was a strong emotion, one that he never fully mastered. "But when living amongst gods, you can forget what your limits are, or why you set them in the first place. They become distant memories, so you need to remember them. Remember what you were before you were a god, so that you can remember your limit, and thus retain that which you hold most dear." Mac refocused his attention on Lita. "So I ask you again, why did I help that lady? It wasn't to retain control. She never had a chance of making me do that. Nor was it to keep myself from going beyond my limits." @ZincAboutIt

  12. "Very close Lita, very close," Mac paused again to gather his thoughts. Usually he despised this method of learning, the teacher teasing the student along with tidbits until they said exactly what the teacher wanted them to, but in this case it was very important that she arrive at this conclusion herself without Mac stating it right out. Something about that method of discovery made people more accepting. "The limits are a large part of it. But it's not so much the limits themselves, but what the limits help us be. Or depending on one's perspective, it's what the limits force us to be." Mac paused again, hoping this was enough, then heard Lita whisper the Strangers Favorite catchphrase. "Anything is attainable..." "Just because you can do it, doesn't mean that you should." He smiled sadly at the thought of the Stranger. He had given up everything for science. Even things that weren't possible to lose he had taken from himself to gain more power.

  14. I'm just gonna come right out and say it. Good game everyone! I am the final elim, and I really enjoyed the game! I'd also like to note that due to one problem in game mechanics, I was unable to win. The shields. You see, Steel expected Joe to survive. That didn't happen, at all. So we couldn't use his IMP, which meant elim kills almost never worked. All three of you would be dead if it did

  15. Brenna Rose sat somewhat despondent outside the mess hall of Alta. M-Bot was just gone. She fought back tears, though unsuccessfully. A few drops rolled down her cheeks, and she buried her head in her arms, wrapped around her knees. She had felt so free while flying M-Bot. No one could catch her. No one could stop her. Bad Wolf belonged in the sky. But could Brenna return? That feeling when M-Bot and Doomslug disappeared... Falling. Her stomach feeling like it was compressing her lungs. Empty sky with nothing around her. Nothing to catch her. Brenna shuddered and a few more tears fell. Thankfully Steel had caught her, and she'd only gotten a few bumps and bruises. She should have been dead. Everyone should have been dead. Though she didn't understand still what happened, she knew Doomslug and M-Bot had saved Alta. They had saved her flight. It was her turn to pay back the favor. She let a few more tears roll down before she wiped them away and stood. This would not stop her. Yet. She had to find the rebel first. They were the last to blame for the whole mess. They were to blame for her losing M-Bot. If they had focused on the Lifebuster... Bad Wolf would find them, and Bad Wolf would end them. For everything must come to dust. --- Edit: I hit send too early. @Ax's Boyfriend, what action did you take last night that you believed would have stopped the lifebuster? Edit 2: Because I'm apparently too eager to post. By my count, the Lifebuster received 4 damage from me and 4 damage from Bard in the Largo. Fura's inaction makes sense, but she shouldn't have been shot, considering the escorts only shoot at those who deal damage to the Lifebuster. This tells me someone (probably Ark), shot at Fura.

  16. I have been away from the Shard for awhile but on returning this was the first thread I checked. Still amazing! Glad to see it is still going. Might I offer a suggestion? We have had the Tournament of Champions, why not try a Redemption Round? Bring back participants with their original characters who were fan favorites but did not win? Just a thought

  18. Nial walked up to the Happy Days soothing parlor, adjusting the brim of his aluminum lined hat as he approached. He opening the door carefully, trying not to alert the clerk at the desk in front of him. The women looked up at him, raising and eyebrow at his attempt to sneak in. “You’re going to need to take all that off if you want an appointment.” She said, gesturing to his trench coat and fedora. “I am a police detective, I need to look at your ledgers.” Nial responded, pulling out his badge and showing it to her. She rolled her eyes. “Ya’ll are supposed to schedule these kind of things in advance.” “This is ‘scheduling in advance’. In a all likelihood, most constables would have had a Hazekiller squad just break down your door” That shut her up. She handed the books over to him silently, though her glare betrayed how she felt. As he looked through the ledgers, Nial felt his lips begin to curl up in a smile. Henry King, Drew Harper, and Michael Cane were pseudonyms for the same man, Lance Cett, Elendel’s biggest narcotics supplier, and all had frequented this parlor on numerous occasions. He pulled out a notebook, scribbling as much as he could, dates, times, and names before what he assumed would be hired thugs arrived. He looked up at the sound of heavy footsteps on floor above, and shut the books. He slipped his notebook into his pocked and quickly walked out the door, breaking into a run as soon as he was out. He needed to reach the precinct before the parlor was cleared of evidence, and likely burned down. They had tried for so long to catch Cett, and now was their chance. Time after time they had been mislead or too late. Several minutes of hard running later, he reached the precinct. He ran up the steps to his division’s floor. “Sarge!” He yelled, looking for her, “Sarge, we got it!” There was no one on the floor. Where were they? Some kind of meeting? He went back downstairs, all be it slower then is ascent, and walked to the conference room. He opened the door, slipping in the back. Hopefully he could catch some of the meeting. “get her to tell us who they were, but we know there are at least a few more officers, that Lyrelle knew of at least, who have joined the force to undermine our operations or have become sympathetic to the rebels’ cause.“I need each and everyone of you to work together to root out these rebels as we continue our investigation. We cannot afford to risk losing the city because we were unable to trust every officer we have.” Lyrelle? His sergeant? A rebel? Suddenly things began to make much more sense. They’d been chasing Cett for nearly 2 years now, and he’s always been one step ahead. Rusts, he’d told her everything, about the Happy Days lead, the breakthrough on the 6th octant hideout. Those were worthless. He crumpled up the papers in his pocket, feeling a rage come over him. Cett could wait, he had rebels to find. Checking in! I’m enjoying Aman’s villager bucks, they seem like a cool idea, though a little biased, and more a way of quantifying reads then anything else. I’m going to wait a bit before posting some more concrete (as much as d1 analysis can be) analysis.

  19. Emphasis is mine. Just going to respond to the bolded bits. We don't know anything about the kandra other than their win condition, sadly. They need to be the last man standing which admittedly worries me about what powers they have in store. At the very least this isn't an anonymous game so we can count on no body switching! (Also I'm not the kandra though I kind of wish I was. Seems fun). Basically Thug's can use their ability once a cycle. If they use it during the day, it will save them from the lynch. If they use it at night, it will protect them from night kills. It doesn't run out until they would die, however, so they can use the ability every night until it's spent. What I was proposing is that if you're a Village Thug who is about to get lynched, especially early on in the game, it's best not to save yourself. There's no alignment scanning in this game, which means the only way we can know someone is good or evil for certain is by lynching. Losing out on a whole turn of information is the opposite of ideal, except maybe towards the end of the game if it gets to the point where numbers are very close. Besides the kandra, I don't think there's more secrets in the game. I believe the point of the allomancy-specification is that Hazekiller's will not be able to block elim kills. ED1T: Oh dang I got 1337 upvotes! Gotta screenshot this rep title.

  21. Lafay was walking down the hallway towards the locker room to clock into work, considering the early morning when he heard Ark1002 ask Nedar Latin , “Do you have any suspicions on the rebels?” and decided that maybe, just maybe he was trying to feel out what the other officers think to make sure he’s safe. So when he reached the intersection of the hallways that they’re in he tried to listen around the corner to listen to this conversation, because maybe if Arr. was one of this traitors and he caught him, he’d get a huge promotion. Though his daydreaming was cut short as Lafay tripped on nothing, but he blamed the wind, and fell face first onto the middle of the floor. Nedar and Arr. both turn and look at him with various emotions on their faces. Rust and Ruin, he thought.

  22. So there is a classic forum game that I've usually seen called "yes, but". Usually used in reference to wishes. Basically, the first person posts a wish, then the poster after them grants that wish but tacks on a rider to make it awful, then posts their own wish. And so on and so on. The Boons and Banes from the Nightwatcher seem ideal for this. Since the bane doesn't necessarily have to be directly connected to the boon granted, this opens up a bit more leeway, but I think it could still be at least mildly amusing to see what we lurkers of the forums come up with. So how about it? Who wants to play the Nightwatcher? I'll start off with a wish that should be simple enough to screw over. "I ask the Nightwatcher for the boon of immortality. Let me live through the ages forever, seeing the march of history progress."

Including the amount of Shin spread throughout Roshar (more than I thought) But, one bit of news I am excited about is this bit on new Novellas in the Stormlight Archive First, what Sanderson said he was writing on his Germany trip, and the question afterward: Sanderson: “I suppose I shouldn't be coy, as there aren't many stories this could be. Yes, it's a sequel to Sixth of the Dusk. I've spoken about wanting to do one. Unfortunately, I only had time to get a little ways into it. I suspect I'll pick it back up on the flight to Spain in July. And if I don't finish it then, I have another long haul flight in October to visit France then Israel. It's generally hard to do Stormlight on flights like that; the books are too intricate, and the distractions too multitudinous. But novellas tend to work, so we'll see if I can get this one done on these trips.” The question from ArgentSun: “Huh, it (sic) had assumed Rock's or Rysn's novella would be your airplane project. I guess taking a break from Stormlight by doing more Stormlight doesn't really work. Can you share your current plan for these two too?” And the response: “Still hoping to do both of them sometime this year, but we'll see. I would hate for Edgedancer to be the only X.5 novella for Stormlight. Feels more right if I can get those, and the Lopen one happening between books one and two, done some day soon. The Rock one kind of needs to happen, so we'll see. I need to get back on schedule with the main book first, though. That takes precedence over all of these smaller projects.” A question from Hermit: “This may be too much to ask. For Rock's, is this a prequel in his homeland? Post Oathbringer, coming to terms with his actions? Something different all together maybe.. I find either very exciting.” And the response: ”It is post Oathbringer, involving him returning to his homeland.” So! Three new novellas at some point. 1. Lopen, between WoK and WoR. 2. Rock, after Oathbringer but before Rhythm ( Super hype!!!) 3. Rysn, no more info on this one. I would love it to be between Oathbringer and Rhythm as well Also, it sounded to me like the first one written will be Rock’s novella. King Rock?

  30. I am amazed at how thoroughly that quote box was messed up. I'm guessing you're on your phone I would rather give everyone a free turn to get into the swing of things, personally, but I'm on the more left wing / liberal side of the lynching political parties and I know a lot of people don't see eye to eye. The Catch 22 is that we need votes and pressure from them to get the ball rolling, D1 included. So what I'm saying is if people have a genuine reason to vote, do it and don't hold back. We can figure out the rest from there. Otherwise I would rather not shoot in the dark and risk friendly fire. Don't worry, you're now an honorable mention as well ED1T: (1) Walin: Ark1002, (1) Ark1002: Ventyl, (1) Devotary of Spontaneity: Fifth Scholar, (1) Sart: Furamirionind,

  31. Thanks, man! You the best. Following ashspren's original plan, we're going to have a round of non-cosmere roasters, just to shake things up a bit. After that, I believe we'll be allowing reruns of names. It's not quite the same as what you're suggesting, but people can still choose to play their old characters, if they want.

  33. Another constable walked up. Arr K. Thousantoo recognized him. "Serdig. I was just talking to this constable, asking on his suspicions." He turned. "Which he still hasn't told me. Out with it, young one." Then he turned, seeing a third constable. And they had tripped on the floor. He shook his head. Constables these days. When I first joined, sloppiness like that would get a man shot.

  34. Covert assassinations were no way to express dissatisfaction with one's leaders. If these rebels weren't happy with the way the government was being run, it was their responsibility to openly challenge Elendel's leaders face to face. Running around with bombs could only mean the rebels did not command the loyalty of Elendel's population and were too afraid to associate themselves with their beliefs. Such cowardice could not be excused. With only 17 players and up to four kills flying around(elim kill, Coinshot kill, Mistborn!Coinshot kill, potential Kandra kill), this game may not last particularly long. I would not be surprised if some of those kills were not present in the game. The Mistborn was presumably added for a reason, as there shouldn't really be Mistborn save for the Lord Mistborn and Ironeyes, so I'd say it's more likely that Coinshots were excluded than Mistborn. Since the Kandra can pretty much only win if they whittle the game down to one police, one rebel, and themselves, and then get both the last police and the last rebel killed in the same turn without dying, the Kandra would need a night kill to have any real hope of winning. While Sindale disapproves of Mistborn, she is forced to admit that such a being is unlikely to stand with those using guns and bombs to overthrow the government. Last hour lynches may not give the Mistborn, or Thugs who are less alignment indicative, the opportunity to use pewter to survive their lynch.

  40. I would love to see either Lirin the stoneward or Lirin the dustbringer or just Lirin the regular human surgeon. His perspective is one of my favorites and speaks to me very personally. My mom worked in the medical field for decades and spent most of that time treating combat veterans, which has led her to be pretty anti-war. I got some of that attitude from her, but neither one of us would allow anyone to hurt a member of our family. I suspect Lirin is the same, but I may just be projecting myself onto him. Anyone who is constantly faced with the long lasting effects of a few moments of violence really thinks twice and tries any other means to solve their problems, I think. That wouldn't disqualify them from being a knight radiant, I think it would just influence how they used their spren Bond and shards. If Lift can make a shardfork, who knows what a surgeon might come up with!
