Welcome to LG53: The Fate of the Forum. This is a Semi-Blackout game of Spambots vs. Eliminators. Our dear Admin Chaos has given me the information about several Spammers who have infiltrated our forum, and are impersonating members of our community. He has tasked us with removing them. Luckily, we Eliminators have an advantage. We know all about the abilities of the Spammers, but the Spammers are unfamiliar with us. Spammer Roles: (Not all roles will be included) Vodiyehi: Has a script that can make thousands of posts per day. If Vodiyehi targets you, no one else will be able to do so. Only Votes and Lynches will be able to target a player. Babaji: Has access to Near Eastern magic that can inspire love or hate. If they target you with love, you will end up joining them. Luckily the cooldown for this is yearly, so they’ll only be able to get one of us before we get them. If they target you with Hate, you will die, no matter what. This can also only be used once. SookeSiled: Posts lots of corrupted URLs and infects computers. If they target you, everyone on the forum who didn’t use their computer will also target you that night. Beirst1928: Built one of the Best Firewalls known to man. Immune to everything except the Lynch. Temptation: Absolutely terrifying with Code. They get into the code and corrupt it. If they target you, your action will do exactly what you didn’t want. You will accidently ban a player instead of protect them. Or you will accidentally reveal your IP address instead of PM them. Or something. And then they will know what and who you are. Vashikaran: They’re rather good at deleting code, so if they target you, there is a good chance that your account will be temporarily disabled. The Spammers do have their own server to talk in, and as a group can get an account deleted every Weekend. I’ll be doing my best to hunt them down myself, so hopefully they won’t all be in play. But I will check in at 11:59 PM PST every Week to check who you guys have vote on, and that player will be banned. Mechanics and House Keeping: Open PM’s. Cycles are split into 2 Turns: Weeks which have a lynch, and Weekends when the Spammers get their Kill. Tied Lynches are decided at Random. At least 0 votes are needed for a lynch. Hi everybody! I'm in high school, and no one at my school reads Sanderson...so I thought I'd finally join the Shard. I'm really looking forward to seeing/partaking in all the theories and discussion. Stormlight is my favorite series in the Cosmere, but Kelsier is probably my all-time favorite character (I can't resist that charisma, lol). I'm reading Mistborn Era Two right now, and enjoying it a lot so far. I've also read Elantris, Warbreaker, Emperor's Soul, and Secret History. High fantasy is definitely my favorite genre (my boyfriend recently started me on Malazan...hopefully I'll be able to do the same for him with Cosmere!)

Eh, I'm just not a fan of deciding what people should and shouldn't be offended by. The Listeners didn't find the name "Parshendi" insulting. I am not going to choose to be offended for them over something they don't care about.

Brandon himself mixes these this up. The way I do it (and many fan agree) is that singer is the generic for the species, dawnsinger is the name for the ancient singers and their civilization and listener is the tribe of singers on the shattered planes.

In Dalinar’s vision from the Almighty he sees a figure with nine shadows. What if this is not in reference to the unmade as the Stormfather says, and instead foreshadowing of the deaths of nine heralds for use by the enemy’s champion? What if by shadow, Honor was implying a Cognitive Shadow?

@Pathfinder I think the Herald's return before the Fused. We know Taln showed up at the end of WoK when he broke for 4k plus years of torture. As far as we know, there weren't any Fused around until after the Everstorm. Also, when Taln comes back he talks about preparing people, about the different skills the other Heralds would teach them to get ready for the war. I was always under the impression that the humans got at least a little head start before the Desolation actually began.

The singers (Dawnsingers) are the native species. Humans destroyed Ashyn and arrived as Refugees... Things went wrong and the Heralds and Desolation and Radiants all happened... Then Aharietiam. The singers continued in pockets, fighting despite the lack of Odium. And BAM Somehow mimicked what Odium used to do providing forms of power and voidlight to the singers. This was the "False Desolation" Around this time, a group of singers called the last Legion broke away and took dullform intentionally to escape from BAM, and sometime after the parsh were crippled and the recreance happened. The Last Legion became the listeners.

Hi! I am pretty new to the Cosmere, but I think that I have read all of the published works, and I have been listening to the Shardcast (which is great). I have heard the hosts mention several times that we know Vessels can abdicate. I am guessing the this is from a WoB, but I haven’t been able to find the source. I don't know about anybody else, but I often get random Cosmere thoughts and questions that I want to share, yet they're not important enough to have a whole discussion on. Well this is the topic for all those random questions and thoughts you have, Cosmere related or not. Anything random that just pops into your head is welcome here! I'll start. The Returned in Warbreaker are vampires. The definition of a vampire is basically a dead person that sustains itself on the life force of someone else. Yup, totally vampires.

Record: Exp-15867 Type: Experimental log - Organic Hemalurgic / Spiritual Purpose of Experiment: Investigation of the effects of spiking non-physical senses into a class 5 uninvested volunteer. (Vol-598345, Vol 597560, Vol-597561) Environmental conditions: Experiment conducted in standard conditions, sterilized and uninvested laboratory in a corporeal, non-imaginary Alley. (All-25789) Invested items: Three charged tin spikes (Size 38) utilized in experiment. Each spike was charged by spiking of an instance of Org-45671 through bind point t-47[1] into a standard blood-infused holding case suitable for a size 38 spike. Containment procedures: Standard containment protocols in place, lockdown procedures prepared in the event of unexpected synergies or responses, operating tables preprepared with a Class 4 restraining Aonic pattern, prepared by researcher ████████. Procedure: The three class 5’s were sedated using uninvested sedatives (40 mcg Fentanyl), and laid supine on operating tables. Each class 5 was then spiked with one of the charged spikes (Hereafter referred to as Spi-45671-t47) in a standard sensory bind point (Human bindpoint t-32) creating three instances of Org-01-45671-t47-t32. The class 5’s were observed throughout the procedure and for one hour until sedatives were no longer present in their system. After this period each instance of Org-01-45671-t47-t32 underwent standard personality adjustment assessment and security assessment, followed by an interview conducted by researcher █████. Both subjects either failed to say anything when asked a question or simply screamed at researchers in a language we have yet to identify. Further class 5’s may be required to validate these findings but it appears that Spi-45671-t47 is unsuitable for use within uninvested individuals at least, experimentation on its effects on a class 3 semi-invested may need to be conducted to determine whether Spi-45671-t47 is suitable for Invested individuals. The two remaining volunteers are to be kept in standard containment cells until further notice. Addendum: 06-03-543 - Vol-597560 attempted to escape containment, subject seems to have gained the ability to discharge a green liquid from their pores, similar to that seen in Vol-598345. This liquid (Mat-01-45671-t47-t32-a) appears to be of a magical but non-Invested nature, possessing the ability to isolate the perception of an object if it is covered with Mat-01-45671-t47-t32-a for a period of at least thirty minutes, rendering it imperceptible to others. Vol-598345 used this to attempt to hide itself and when security-denizens opened the containment cell to examine it, Vol-598345 attempted to escape. Containment Aons captured Vol-598345 during its escape, and after a number of hourse it appeared to become perceivable again. Containment protocols updated to sedate either instance of Org-01-45671-t47-t32 if they attempt to utilize this liquid again. 09-03-543 - Autopsy of Vol-598345 completed, as expected the cause of death seems to be blood loss. Vol-598345's entire circulatory system appears to be devoid of all blood, though it is unclear where exactly their blood has gone. Examination of Vol-597560 and Vol-597561 has revealed that they both still possess blood volume within normal human ranges. Testing of the spike remaining in Vol-598345 revealed that its charge had indeed degraded without the presence of blood in the hosts body. These results suggest that Spi-45671-t47 may be unsuitable for Hemalurgy. Footnotes 1. Same, I've resigned myself to the possibility that I'll never read all 10. Both he and I need to stick around another 20 years (at least!) and that's a long time. It's kind of dark to bring mortality into it, but those are huge books that take a long time to write. It will take him into his late 60s at least to finish the Cosmere books he's said he wants to do. I can't be upset with him at all. He gives us new books every year and is exceedingly open and honest about his progress. I've told myself as long as I get to see the first 5 Stormlight I'll be happy.

It might be a double fake-out with Dalinar. First we're surprised that Dalinar was planned to be Odium's champion (scary, nine shadows, nine is Odium's magic number). But it could just as easily represent the opposite right? Dalinar acts as a beacon of light to gather the 9 other radiant orders. The shadows symbolize the other people/orders that he has united by acting as the focal point.

The Parshendi being unable to (until this point) bond with spren deep enough for Surges was the betrayal they're talking about it. I'm going to let someone more knowledgeable answer the rest of it.

For what it's worth, the Coppermind currently describes it basically as a resonance effect using both Tension and Adhesion Surges to pull the Realms together. But I have no idea who wrote that, and the reference they use is this same Idaho Falls WOB so I think they were jumping to a few conclusions there.
