  1. This theory was way ahead of it's time. We now have confirmation, straight from the man himself. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/blog/the-great-salty-one-an-interview-with-brandon-sanderson/ (Warning: Steelheart spoilers at the link)

  2. I've discovered a new metal! It is called procrastinum, and by burning it, you gain the ability to do things tomorrow! By being a procrastinum twinborn like myself, I store my ability to do stuff today, and compound it to be able to do even more things tomorrow. However, when you stop burning, you lose the ability, and if you keep burning, you always do stuff tomorrow, so nothing ever really gets done. A twinborn of this type is called a Procrastinat.

  3. A Ferring storing and tapping weight can generate infinite amounts of electricity, which will eventually generate waste heat. At what point does this get recycled? I really don't know, but I can safely say that conservation of energy is not a thing. Probably. On the plus side, the inhabitants of the Cosmere don't have to worry about running out of negentropy.

  4. I agree that "Grandmaster" is more likely: knowledge of the future gives you extra shadows, then. I don't think that Seers not seeing their own shadows is evidence of anything, though: Atium's just an external metal, with Electrum filling in the "see your own fate" category.

  7. I don't think the highstorms were caused by honor's death. the way life is adapted to them is something that cannoth have happened in a few thousands years. highstorms must have existed for millions of years at least.

  8. Here is the fly in the ointment for this theory: So, since we have seen Parshendi, and brandon has said that we haven;t seen what the chasmfiends start out as, I think it is unlikely that the Parshendi are an early stage in the chasmfiend's life cycle.

  10. Hey everyone, Went a bit mental with my last paycheck and I bought all 7 of Brandon's books from his website, signed and personalised - i now have almost everything published by him, signed and/or personalised I asked for general hints about Hoid and WoR, and he wrote in the copy of TWoK (direct quote) Okay, fine. One hint, but not one in each book! In WoR there is a hint about how Hoid moves between planets - + it involves something you've seen in other worlds... Don't know if this belongs elsewhere, but I though I would put it up I have also just included a picture of my book shelf now - can see my uber awesome collection, including two copies of Legion, two of TAoL, and if you people look close enough, can also see the english versions of his bookbs beneath as well :

  12. My thoughts are: Vasher vs Szeth : depends on setting, but I don't think Szeth can resist Nightblood's temptation, so: Vasher drops sword, Szeth tries to draw it, Szeth dies horribly -should probably work. TLR vs GodKing - depends on GodKing's experience in Awakening. As he was at the end of warbreaker, TLR would likely win, if he learns how to awaken stone/metal (and he has more than enough Breaths for that!), or maybe enforce cloth to work as super-armor (not impossible) - Susebron would probably win. Also, the amount of Breaths would probably make him near-immune to emotional Allomancy (Investiture interference) Breeze versus Bluefingers - uhh.. how do we get them to fight? Emotional Alloancy would probably give n edge, anyway. Clod vs Human - depends on skill retention for both of them... Could go either way, but I think Human can ultimately "win" -except that Clod can be repaired with enough Breath so... The lineup that I would like to see... well... Hoid vs everybody who was pissed at him in any of his guises, in a place he cannot run away from? (Yes, I don't like Hoid In my list of Evil he is only below Cadsuane, a few positions above DO)

  14. - warbreaker adapted as a b-movie exploting softcore pornography: most of the film will consist of Siri kneeling naked in front of susebron. - assassin's creed: the final empire. Lead altair on the rooftops of luthadel to assassinate the corrupt nobles. - alethi vs parshendi: the strategic videogame. - Die Leiden des jungen Adolin: an introspecitve novel on the pain of the young kohlin as all his attempts to engage are short-lived. Eventually, adolin will commit suicide. that's all I can think for now.

  16. Ha. I...really would rather pass on this one. Getting the Ketek right in KINGS took weeks of writing and rewriting. I'm not sure I'd like to try something, even for fun, in a quick forum write like this. RAFO. (But you will see it again.) The relationship is there, but it's not a very strong connection. There are metals which exist that any Allomancer can burn, regardless of their own orientation. Sadeas would make great use of Zane. Far better use than his father did.

  18. I was reading the glyphs page on the coppermind when I came across what I'm pretty sure is a mistake. I believe whoever wrote this is referring to the fact that Vorin law mandates that slaves be paid for their labor (Albeit at half normal wages). Vorinism doesn't have an actually "ban" on slavery, so far as I know, slave conditions are just slightly better in Vorin lands. (If Vorinism didn't permit slaves, then how could Kaladin have been sold to the bridge crews in the first place?) I don't have a coppermind account (yet), and I'm not sure what I'd fix this with anyway, so does someone want to cater to my hyperactive sense of semantics and make a correction?
