The Silence of Night
I want…to be free.
The wind, the night.
The cold, no warmth.
Away from these husks.
Away from the sun.
Alone…with silence.
The silence of night.
I want to walk, run,
Dance, skip,
Sit, lay down,
Taking in the stars,
Feeling fresh breeze,
The clean invigorating breeze,
Purging the filth,
Imbuing the true-and-only joy.
I want to just forget.
Walk the night for hours,
Not go back.
Breathe out in relief,
Then in, calming, euphoric.
Instead I lie in bed,
Sit in a chair,
Walk these halls,
Immersing in that which I hate,
Not allowing myself the freedom I crave.
I lay here with no energy,
Typing away on this brick,
Not nurturing,
But withering.
Oh how I long,
To walk in the breeze,
To run through a field,
Collapse breathing heavily,
Lie face-up, in awe at the stars.
Stay there for hours, no care in the world.
Letting time pass, as comfortable as I’ve ever been.
Oh what a dream,
What a wish, what a…
Beautiful scene.
