Shardcast: The Five Scholars

You know what would make for a really great Shardcast episode?

Adonalsium.

For all that we've learned about the Shards and their origin, the most central question remains maddeningly vague: why?  What was the problem to which the original Vessels believed that the best/only solution was to destroy God and scatter its pieces far and wide across the Cosmere?  I'd love to see what sort of juicy speculation you guys manage to come up with on the subject...

I'll admit, that I'm probably fanboying way more than I should from just getting my WTCC read.

Me too! I'm surprised we haven't seen a preorder form for Warbreaker 10th Anniversary Leatherbound Edition yet.

I think it'll be soonish. I'm so excited for it, given how excited team Dragonsteel seems about it. to quote a friend of mine, "I might just sell my soul for a Warbreaker Leather-Bound."

I loved this episode. I was pretty much waiting for the discussion to turn to the memory altering awakening command. It kinda reminds me of Dalinar's memory alteration. 

I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one wanting Nightblood so badly. I really think awakening is about to expand in new ways.

One thing that remains very unclear to me: was Nightblood created on Nalthis? Or could he have been created on Roshar? It seems that the ready access of free investiture available on Roshar via stormlight would enable immense Heightenings to permit the five scholars to carry out super advanced R&D.

I would be shocked if Nightblood wasn't created on Nalthis.
