Bonuscast: Dark One News

Just a bit ago, we had a big news announcement about Dark One, a project Brandon has talked about numerous times, is finally getting off the ground as a grand multimedia project which includes graphics novels, a TV show, a podcast, and prequel novels. We record Shardcasts in advance so we wanted to get you the news and our thoughts on the matter in this bonus podcast!

Of course, in this one, we discuss TV without knowing much about TV, and the inevitable discussion on White Sand, too.

We have a small cast of Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), and Ben (Overlord Jebus).

Check out our previous news posts on Dark One.

So this got me thinking, if we get Cosmere adaptions down the line, we will need to have names to separate the written and movie universes. I assume for the films it will be CCU (Cosmere Cinematic Universe) and the books will be just Cosmere.

That moment when you hear "I read the book, and I watched the first two episodes." and think he's talking about Dark One instead of American Gods.

This was my first time listening to the Shardcast and I enjoyed it. Good stuff guys.

I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on my related post on adaptations.

@Chaos I'm super disappointed in you for not doing your impression about the boom box. @Overlord Jebus set it up and for you to knock outta the park, but you didn't. Why do you think I listen to Shardcast?!?

But seriously, thanks guys. I'll be all over that podcast, because it's the only way I keep my sanity during work.

Thanks guys for the update on Dark One. It popped up on my feed a couple of weeks ago and it is intriguing. I agree with @Chaos, I don't have a lot of time and when I do have time I prefer to read a book over listening to a podcast. This is one of the only ones I enjoy listening too. I think because it's Cosmere. I'll check it out because it's a Brandon project. I am cautiously optimistic. I hope it works out for him so maybe we can get Cosmere adaptions. Even with that though, I'm hesitant to get excited about. The books are great, I hope that it translates well to TV. I'll have to get into watching TV again, I guess. Thanks again guys, great!
