Mistborn: Birthright

Hey Guys,

So, a website popped up the other day, and it's one that you're all going to want to see! http://mistborngame.com/ came to my attention, and they've already got a Facebook Page, and a twitter account. As previously mentioned, it's going to be cross platform on at least the PS3 and XBOX 360 (Might just be me, but I'm really hoping for a PC release), and is being produced by Game Machine Studios and Little Orbit.

More info will be added as it's made available!

I love the PSN and XBox Live logos - Mistborn Co-Op, anyone?

This is so awesome!!! I can't even wait for like another minute. I really hope it ends up being similar to Assassins Creed style gameplay, because I think it would be well represented that way. Here's hoping that there were noble keeps in this time period, so I can go on some atium raids! Also Mistborn Co-Op would be awesome KChan!

I imagine that the PSN/XBLive icons indicate that the game will be available through PSN/XBLA, and not actually indicate that there will be multiplayer. Looking at the company's website, they haven't released many games, and the company has only been in existance since 2010. A (presumably) small(ish) team + no previous company experience with PS/XB makes multiplayer seem very unlikely to me... but hey, I wouldn't mind being proven wrong ;)

So we now have part of a description. I can see half of it from facebook for some reason, but I can't find the entire thing on the website. Here you all go anyway!

Oh wait, I found the whole thing, and I guess you aren't allowed to edit comments. Oh well

The upcoming RPG video game will feature an original storyline created by Brandon Sanderson set several hundreds of years before the first Mistborn novel, and will focus on a unique combat system that puts Allomancy into the hands of gamers. Players will suit up as Fendin “Fiddle” Fathvell, an arrogant young nobleman who must quickly master his newfound Allomantic abilities before forces at work can destroy his entire family.

It's a family that we've included in Mistborn: The Inquisition, and it's freaking amazing that it is being included in this game!

Did anyone else find the ordering of the metals to be a bit odd on the game page?

It went Iron, Tin, Steel, Pewter, Zinc, Copper, Brass, Bronze. This groups the physical mental metals in groups of four, subdivided into pairs of Pull/Push (pure/alloy).

@Tulir

As far as I can tell, Fathvell is a house that was made up for the Mistborn: The Inquisition RP here on the forum, which Brandon has apparently co-opted for his own nefarious purposes. Either that or it was mentioned off-handedly in one of the books and our fellow Sharders ran with it.

Double Post FTW! (Chaos & pals, please implement an edit feature! :()

Correction: "This groups the physical and mental metals into two groups"

Found some info from the interview database on what the game might be like:

I HAVE considered doing a Mistborn game. In fact, I was in talks with a company at one point to licence the game to them. I even wrote up a proposal for the game. (I imagined it being a nice hybrid between an RPG and a platformer, perhaps something along the lines of the metroid/castlevania vein with a physics engine. Or, for something more big budget, I'd love to see a Morrowind style Mistborn RPG.)

It's definitely a made-up name for MBI. I should know - I'm the one who came up with the name. If you check out my twitter conversation with the devs, it appears that Brandon may have co-opted the name on purpose. Which, if true, is incredibly, insanely awesome.

I hope some form is made for a Mac; that would be my only option for playing it. Congratulations to Eliza Fathvell for now having a notable ancestor!

Wow. I just, can't believe it about Fathvell. Googling Fathvell gives you the Mistborn RP, so, it would be so incredibly unlikely for it to be happenstance.
