  1. To me Lopen comes off as a bit of a bully. Not that he means to but he is the kind of guy that really doesn't consider other people when he messes about. I loved that Huio kind of call him out on it by how he swears the oath. It is very much implied but he overcomes his dislike (rational or not) of Lopin. I loved how this gives Lopen a chance to look at himself and become a better person.
  2. Interesting look at the charterers, I do think each has a different issue to deal with or overcome. I think Jasnah's problem is that she is paranoid. The have been allusions to this; how she puts her back to the wall, spying on her own family and so on. For Eshonai/Venli I think it is a inferiority complex of some sort. They think the other sister is doing more for her people. Ash's issues may be as simple as guilt. To both Taln and the people she betrayed.
  3. I think syl kind of mentions it to Kal at the end of part one. She says he "can't save everyone" when he is trying to save people from the storm. And at the end of part four he seems close to being able to let people go when they are beyond his help. So something like "I will accept when I can do no more" or "I will accept the are times I can not help" just better written. Kal arc was about accepting help and letting go be he has a bit to go.
  4. I was re listening to TWK when this line struck me. Ch4 The seems to so much about the storms we don't know. Maybe the spren were taken into the storm in Shadesmar (heck even in the Physical) to see if the amount of investiture would heal them or something. Off the wall but it is a interesting line.
  5. Rock is going to be the second Bondsmith. His people are closer to cultivation than most and he can see spren even large ones. He as most people seem to have worked out is on a path to being a king. Rock has an innate ability to hold people together and he takes pride in doing so. Bridge 4 almost seem to be held together by him at times; he is looked to by the members as someone to talk with if they feel as if they don’t fit. I think he will have a need to bond with the Nightwatcher to help him take his homeland back. The place that has cultivation’s shard pool. Granted he is a squire wind runner but has bonded no spren. His oath may be to leave one small group to help all groups. Leave bridge 4 to help his people then them to help the world. Dalinar can bring people together but I think Rock can hold them together. This seems like a small possibility but one that I think could fit.
  6. On the Left-tenant thing; we nicked the word but the old english laguage was wierd but we probbley rebbled agaist the pronunciation. Us brits have this thing against the french (so many wars).
  7. The one big thing about the map that has made no sence to me is the climate. http://i.imgur.com/uQBXoST.jpg the are two aras of land on the same latitude that have vastly diffrent climates and with no land features to explane it.
  8. Renarin training is one of the best bits of the book. I can't imagin what her reaction will be like when Renarin joins... I expect that I will need new eardrums though.
