I was re-reading this thread and just realized that you already pointed out the link to Elantris. Sorry about that Gaz! I found the link on my own and was excited to post so just did a search for an existing thread and added the quotes without fully comprehending your original post.

So how many secret societies do we have at this point?
gravytrain replied to synobal's topic in Stormlight Archive
I suppose since they have tattoo's on their cheek the Oldbloods are hardly a secret society. Possibly worth keeping an eye on though. -
Thanks Peter. This may be straying too far off topic but how did we know which representations relate to each herald? I see in the wikia wiki they are lined up in the table with descriptions. Here in the coppermind wiki entry for Ishar the same wedge displayed. I don't see those descriptions in the ars arcanum for either novel. Anyone know where that info came from?

Can someone clarify what you mean by "Hoid was in the header"? I assume you mean the swirly art in the center also found in the lower left corner of the below illustration. How do we know this image indicates Hoid? Apologies for my ignorance in this. I am primarily an audiobook listener although I do buy the ebooks so I can know how names are spelled. http://brandonsanderson.com/beta/wp-content/gallery/stormlight-2-maps-and-illustrations-2/WoR_SKETCHBOOK-PATTERN_fmt.jpeg

Darkness. Wind from the depths of nothingness, battering him. He felt as if he were standing above the void itself, Damnation, known as Braize in the old songs. Home to demons and monsters. It's been a long time since reading Warbreaker. When reading about Zahel My first through was he could be Ishi (Pious|Guiding|old man with long beard). Could Vasher/Zahel also be Ishi as well? Zahel being Ardent|combat teacher|old'ish looking with a beard? I don't see that it could be out of the question with another apparent Herald, Nalan, giving Nightblood to Szeth2.0.
