  1. I'm not saying it should be animated. - But from the first time I read the how shards were described and the way the combat and poses were done my mind was stuck on Final Fantasy, Samurai Jack, Narutu, and various other JRPGs and Animes. Super huge swords. Over extended stances and poses. Holding their hand out to the side as they run to summon their blade. And the whole fight seen at the end of Words of radiance with two flying streaks of light separating and re-colliding over and over again. - I am willing to bet Brandon Sanderson will admit to being influenced by Anime or at least JRPGs when writing the Stormlight Archive. As such I think Anime would be its most natural form. If we could get a good live action of it, I'd take that any day.
  2. Did anyone else besides me get the vibe from Sazed that there was potentially still a realm of influence that he hasn't reached and potentially a "higher power"? I got the feeling it was left open to suggest that as powerful as the Shards are they are not God and while it doesn't say there is a God above them I felt like things were hinted that it was a high possibility. I'd give quotes but it was just a subtle vibe I got from a culmination of Sazed's post-Harmonization comments, especially in regards to Kelsier and the dead.
  3. Stormlight Archive was made to be an Anime. The Swords and armor are straight anime style. As is the way many of the alethi customs stem from Orient cultures. Anime would also make the special effects easier than a live action. Not to mention it could be long enough for the series. Seems animes have no trouble producing hundreds of episodes that go into depth on plots and fight scenes
  4. I don't have the book yet. Has anyone tried to see if the code could be representing chapters, pages, paragraphs, lines, words, ect from the book? Also I agree the 1111 and 10 are suspect.
  5. how about we start pushing the Sanderson store to sell official well done items like this? I mean really. That is awesome and while an axe-hound might not be one I buy, these are very much the kind of items I'd like to buy from the store.
  6. Could the shard pool be the Storms? All the stormlight comes from the storms, The storms seem to be connected to spren, and the storms are basically traveling liquid walls that keep getting recycled. Not a lot behind that thought but it is a thought.
  7. haha. nice. I guess it got added since the last time I really read and not just scanned the page. Sorry.
  8. Sounds like they are all the same/system to me. Or at least the same enough that he couldn't say one without it being partially untrue. Maybe its how their systems are all connected? Maybe the system is a combo system to start with? Maybe they all use the same basic premises to manipulate the system to their own ends - for example the fabrial gemheart system is connected to the surge system but it isn't the same. Just some thoughts. Yes to an either or question normally means both/all.
  9. Someone should find that Sanderson quote and put it (with the dictionary reference) in the coppermind - I know a few theories out there that probably could have been saved a lot of trouble if they had known that.
  10. So I have seen this mentioned a few times across the theories page. Is Odium's intent confirmed as hate? Everyone who mentions it acts as if it is fact but Odium's intent is still listed as unknown in the coppermind.
  11. If you use direction instead of stability, it is no longer a balance to motion. It would be a compliment. That is why I moved steadfast/unmovable into that position. I don't know. Its your theory. Now to make it all pretty ad create an awesome chart out of it all. also there are spiritual laws. My theory is the three surges on the right of the chart are spiritual and the ones on the left are cognitive. spiritual laws inevitably seem to revolve around forces and cognitive around concepts. So I would want the terms used to match this idea as well and it just isn't lining up well.
  12. WeiryWriter. Thanks for that. The first two evidences didn't actually show anything except that Brandon could be evasive. The last piece you linked to at the end was gold though
  13. Hmm, maybe I just misinterpreted things but that was what I understood by the end of the WoK. I could be wrong. Did the book ever specifically says the Heralds were using Honorblades or has everyone just assumed that? ( I don't have a book on me and won't for a while and I only trust the wiki to a point).
  14. Can I just point out that the Heralds use Dawnshards not honorblades? So Sezth's is the ONLY example of an honor blade we have seen.
  15. Ok. Try this out. switching motion and stability around. and tweaking their names a bit Brave + Confident = Steadfast (as in immovable) - which is a mirror of truth. Essential for law and is balanced by . . . Resolute + Careful = Vectoring/Direction (as in going/ setting a constant path/direction) - which is a mirror of Law, dependent on truth, and balanced by immovable steadfastness (kind of like liberals and conservatives balance each other out to think of it from a political viewpoint). Combined they still will get you the surges in the same way too. Does it still work in your theory or no? (I want to get this to work because an Ars Arcannum with the surges included showing the complete integration of the magic system would be nice. As would a Surge diagram including the attributes under the names of the Radiant Orders they represent. Then we could easily see which Herald goes to which order, their powers, attributes, essences - ect. Decode the whole system) On another note: Again I sadly run into the problem of Law sounding more cognitive and Vectoring more a force/spiritual. Likewise Steadfast sounds like a cognitive term when I it should be an force/spiritual term for Truth. Working on that . . . though sadly it might mean my spiritual on the right and cognitive on the left is wrong (I doubt I am wrong on that though). Thinking Unmovable and Direction are the key to this but they don't sound as good when comparing to all the rest.
