You are right that teleportation seems a different power for Megan. But I don't think it is surprising that she is exhibiting a hitherto unseen power; every really strong epic we have seen has at least two and in many cases three different powers; Prof has three different top-level epic powers! Of course, we don't know whether Megan's teleportation power manifests only right after she reincarnates (which seems to be a very good possibility, because there were numerous situations in both Steelheart and Firefight where teleporting away from extreme danger, if she could do it, would have been very handy), or whether she only just powered up as a result of conquering her fear and losing the rendering effect. We'll know better in the next book.

Prof is a master of running away to fight another day. Throughout his time with the Reckoners he insisted on aborting a planned assassination and running if execution of the plan failed for any reason. I don't think we can read anything into him running when confronted with powers he didn't understand and had no means of countering.

Double post

The key David handed to Oblit would only allow Oblit to know what his own weakness is, based on his nightmares. First he has to conquer his nightmares in order to avoid the Epic Effect, and who knows how easy that would be. However, given than Oblit appears batshit crazy already, why do we assume he would take on the evil epics?

At the end of Firefight David had made the acquaintance and gained the goodwill of three "good" Epics who might fulfill his father's expectation of the hero Epics who would come to save the people: Conflux, Dawnslight and Firefight. I expect that all three would help further in the coming struggle against Prof/Lamplight and ultimately, Calamity itself. Any speculation on how the powers of these hero Epics could be important in the confrontation?

Actually, I think I have a fairly good handle on the heralds ---> KR Orders ----> Surges ----> Essences. My only issue is that I had Nalan's divine essences down as learned/giving based on the ars arcanum, and found that the consensus on the board is that Darkness could be Nalan because of his fixation on Justice. Obviously, something didn't compute, and I've trying to find out where it says the ars arcanum is incorrect, and which parts need to be changed. I still hope someone on here will point to me the right discussion.

I have been lurking on here for about a year, and I finally decided yesterday to register. Hopefully, I will be able to contribute to the discussions going forward, as I have read just about everything Brandon has published so far. My immediate reason for registering is to ask for help finding some answers on here. While lurking, I have picked up on the fact that the Ars Arcanum at the back of tWoK contains some errors, so that, for example, while the Divine Attributes associated with Nalan in the AA are Learned/Giving, the correct attributes should be Just/Confident. I have tried a million keyword searches looking for the discussion on the corrections to the AA, without success. I'll appreciate someone pointing me to the right place. Thanks.
