  1. What if a squire abuses his power or breaks the ideals of his order? When Kaladin broke his oaths he lost his powers, but squires won't have spren. So will they be monitored by KR or automatically lose their powers if they go bad?Even a good person when obtains power and authority may become corrupted or confused (for example Moash)and use them for his own reasons.Squires will have considerable power so I believe it is important that some safety messures will exist in order to prevent or stop that.
  2. When i read the word traitor i thought immediately of Amaram.Kaladin is coming for him and his boss Odium worns/mocks him.
  3. Maybe the orders that are battle focused are the ones that can inhale stormlight like windrunners, edgedancers and dustbringers.
  4. Kaladin, because i think he will need every advantage an Ideal would give him when he fights Szeth especially because he will be protecting Dalinar and probably other members of Bridge Four, which is a Divine Attribute of Windrunners. Also he is my favourite character so maybe my reasons are only egotistical.
  5. In the short conversation between Dalinar and Amaram i noticed that even though they talked about Amaram's shardblade there was no mention about his shardplate Also Amaram wasn't wearing it, something that would be reasonable for his first time in the Shattered Plains especially if he wanted to impress Dalinar. Shardplates are equally important with the blades as both of them mark someone as a full shardbearer so they should at least mention it. Do you think that Amaram hides the fact that he also aquired a shardplate or that something happened and he lost it or it was taken from him? Or is he just to embarrassed by the way he took the blade and the plate that if not asked directly he doesn't talk about it?
  6. Nothing new, just one more week thinking mostly about Words of Radiance.
  7. I believe that judging Amaram by earth standars is not right.Judging him by Alethi standars, he did what most others lighteyes or darkeyes would do if given the chance:an immoral act masked behind a pretense of false honor and higher reasons. But if Kaladin seeks revenge he risks not only his and the other bridgemen position, but also Dalinar's work of truly uniting Alethkar, by creating trouble with a possible strong ally of his.The time to judge Amaram will come, but now is not the right time.
  8. so,after i re-read WoK the shin people and szeth's shardblade draw my interest and i started to think that maybe the missing shardblades and plates are in the possesion of the shin. Shinovar is cut from the rest of Roshar because of the Misted Mountains, the shin are considered slow and alien from the other races and almost noone bothers to travel so far (except of merchants) or sees them as a threat, also the shin themselves are a very peacefull race and they would never use the shards to atack others. also taravangian seems to know that the shin gave szeth his blade so even if we assume that szeth uses an honourblade and not a simple shardblade it was given to him by the shin as far as i understand. we don't know anything about the history of the shin but i believe that some time after the day of recreance people from all over Roshar gathered all the shards they could and retreated in Shinovar so as the world wouldn't be destroyed by the war after the shards. they retread in a naturally well fortified and easily defensible place especially with a lot of shards and to prevent themselves and future generations from using the weapons they created the shin philosophy as it is today. i mean, really, who whould even think to search for shards among the peacfull and rather dull shin?
