  1. I've seen a lot of discussion regarding Szeth on this forums, but none seem to address the main question i have regarding how he came to be Truthless. Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems to me Szeth became truthless because he claimed that the Knight Radiants were back. (Something his people in Shin nation didn't like) So my question is, what, or who did he see to come up with that claim? Did he see someone surgebinding? I'm not sure about timeline he if he saw someone surgebinding, that must have been way before Gavilar was killed, which makes it way before anyone we know of, who currently can surgebind. Who could that be?
  2. Called about 20 places right now, B&N is the only one that gave me any indication that they have it, they just wont sell it until the 4th. I called Housing Works, and they don't have it.
  3. Has anyone in the NYC area been able to get the book early? I have the kindle, hardcover, and audible pre-ordered, and don't care if i get an extra copy, please help.
  4. My guess is that Teft does die on this book. Oh well.
  5. I agree with this one. Seems like our sacrificial Herald having a thought.
  6. The words sound very much like Eshonai to me, are there any trees/leaves in the Shattered Plains? I don't have my book in front of me, and can't seem to recall ever reading there being any. Could it be that on her journey to make it to the Shattered plains Shallan had to endure high storm with little protection?
  7. I'm now in the camp that thinks that Cultivation herself is the entity behind countdown messages in stone, and that it is in fact referring to the Desolation. With 62 days, death follows, it could have been read as a warning, or a threat. Some people had all kinds of interesting ideas of who/how wrote the glyph. Dalinar might have been possessed by Odium or a Voidbringer, or perhaps it was Dalinar's spren, or even Szeth could have perhaps written it. With this latest "Countdown" message, I think it's safe to assume that it's more of a warning, by someone that can see the future and is trying to reach out and help (Cultivation). We know seeing the future is not of Honor, and I don't see Odium trying to warn Roshar that the desolation is coming, it would be to his benefit for them to not be prepared for it. I also don't think Dalinar will attract a Cultivation spren since to me, he is associated a lot more with Honor, than any attribute of Cultivation. So is Cultivation writing the message herself (in stone) or is she perhaps possessing one of the Kholins, perhaps Renarin himself. If it is a spren, then i don't think it would be Dalinar's spren, but perhaps Renarins, which we know he has one.
  8. "Thirty-eight days," Renarin read. "The end of all nations"
  9. Peter, on a previous tread you said you approved 30 "Gimpses" will Tor use all of them? 21 days left till release, and 30 glimpses. Some days we'll get more than 1?
  10. Yes, i saw that. Hopefully it's just regarding Shallan's flashbacks.
  11. I'll admit that i'm a bit disappointed we're not getting anything new for another week. oh well, it is what it is.
  12. I'm hoping it's not just a sentence, or two, like they did for AMoL. Maybe a parragraph, or hopefully page with some good content in it, daily. Maybe that would be too much, but that's what i'm hoping for.
  13. I have all 3 versions pre-ordered but to me, nothing beats a good hardcover. One day when Brandon is nearby my town, i will hopefully get a change to have him sign it. I usually listen to the audiobook due to my work commute, and when i'm home i read the e-book.
  14. This was posted on Tor by Carl, one of the guys that does the re-reads for TWoK. So, just because the teaser chapters are done, doesn't mean we wont be getting new "info". "Welcome back to The Way of Kings reread on Tor.com. Recently we've been relentlessly teasing you with excerpts from Brandon Sanderson's second volume, Words of Radiance. While the excerpts are over, the teasing has only just begun, and I encourage all Stormlight fans to watch Tor.com on Tuesday for a special Words of Radiance opportunity, organized by yours truly."
