  1. Yes definitely meant sliders Truth be told, I don't think Brandon has 100% of the physics of his world figured out, he probably would have to think about it and come up with something like "light isn't effected by slider bubbles" or something. However I'm just inclined to think Sliders cannot do anything to produce more electricity than the energy put into production. You might get more electricity faster, but the input and output would always be the same energy. If in fact light inside and outside the bubble moves the same you might have an effective use for sliders and solar panels to produce more energy. However solar panels are very low output, and bendalloy burns quickly and is expensive if I remember correctly, so the one instance it's effective it's priced out as an option lol
  2. Allomantic pewter also helps with "health" concerns and toughness not just speed dexterity and strength. So if you like sports you'd be one of the best in the world with a bit of practice, if your into call of duty your dexterity and reflexes would give you a huge advantage. Coinshot is a close second but I'm imagining this power irl, if you go to the mistborn world and had to pick a power, maybe coinshot is better. Slider and Nicroburst (maybe make a lot of allomancer friends) are up there too in usefulness.
  3. What's better for a feruchemist, burning lerasium to become a mistborn or keeping to store whatever attribute it stores.
  4. The whole generator thing is useless. Bendalloy will not increase the generators production because whatever is powering the generator (dam, steam plant, etc..) is outside the bubble. Even if it was say diesel fuel and run all inside the bubble, you are just limited by the amount of fuel you have. If the problem is more electricity just build bigger generators. Using bandalloy will not give you "free energy". Even if you made a bubble big enough to cover a river and dam, your still limited by the water supply outside the bubble. This might be useful in nuclear generators if, like other people have pointed out, it actually works. Oh and nuclear generator would have a bad side effect of killing the pulsar close enough to get the core inside of his bubble so you would need a lot of pulsars and lead suits.
  5. So the unknown metal, maybe I'm a bit confused but it allowed a kandra to use hemalurgy to gain feruchemical and allomantic abilities? So the spikes that contained these abilities are regular spikes? So now Wax knows a bit of hemalurgy and now has access if not in his possession one steel runner spike. He's also a coinshot... has nobody pointed this out before? Yes I know he probably doesn't know which spike, or where to put the spike, and Harmony would probably be against it. However I think it's a major hidden gem that's being overlooked? Unless the Kandra took the spikes but not the uknown metal. The more I think, the less attractive this idea is, the Kandra probably keep those spikes for themselves, to make new Kandra or use themselves. What do you guys think? I know it won't happen in the books but I haven't seen any speculation yet.

    Hemalurgy

Hemalurgy constructs are created by metal spikes placed in specific points on a human body (except Kandra of course). Vin however had an earring that enhanced her bronze. So can you gain attributes from hemalurgy without changing human form but what sort of limitations are put on this. I'm just imagining someone with a hundred metal rings for allomantic enhancements, this would create a great weakness to soothing of course but grant great power as well. It just seems a bit odd for steel inquisitors to have to change so much to gain their power if it could have been done without altering the human. They would be just as controllable with the same amount of spikes. Spikes need to be placed in certain places depending on the power transferred as well, so it seems that obtaining a small amount of spikes might not have any significant effect but obtaining more would be cause for a change in "humanity". Even people who know of hemalurgy do not know the places to place each type of spike, the knowledge died with the steel inquisitors & TLR. So what do you guys think of Hemalurgy? I think it will only be introduced in the books by accidental events. Not used to create Steel Inquisitors and such.
  7. Your quote may be true to an extent, however I find it to be the most appropriate. Let me explain. "Yes" - He will come back and appear in the books. This would be inappropriate and well just... wrong. "No" - He will not come back. This is Wax'n Wayne's series of books. Having one of the Main characters from the first series come back would be very... wrong. It is however unsatisfying I think Kel should be introduced somehow to a small extent like Sazed not Marsh. "There's always another secret." You're right it doesn't really say anything specific. It is however completely true. Brandon has not told us Kelsier is gone forever in fact he stated otherwise, but he has not told us if, when, or how he will be re-introduced in this new series.
  8. Compounding is not limitless. Evidence of this is when Wayne goes to heal, if he heals slowly he can draw very effectively from his metal, if he draws quickly he can heal incredibly fast however it is "wasteful' to do so. Burning metalminds with allomancy gives you much more of an attribute than you put into it however you can only burn metals so fast. Duralumin allows you to burn through an entire metalmind and get several times the power out of it in an instant. If one were to try to draw out an entire metalmind using feruchemy you will only get what you put into it, and it would be wasteful to draw it all in an instant.
  9. I was thinking the same thing, however you can do this on a more long-term scale using multiple soothers and a large stockpile of brass. Just rotate soothing Nicrobursts can last as long as the metal does and stay fairly constant. An entire army deprived of all emotion for a period of time. It would be a slaughter. However I think in large scale warfare both sides will have coinshots soothers/rioters with a large supply of metal for nicrobursting. This would make for some very complicated warfare.
  10. Well if it were me in a 1 on 1 situation I would act injured or too afraid to move and riot the other person's confidence. Try to get him to let his guard down and go straight for the heart. It's more of a situational tool than an offensive weapon, perhaps an original mistborn or duralumin flair would make it much more usefull especially on a large scale, but then you're mistborn... kinda makes it less important.
  11. Chromium + steel Feruchemy would be awesome. You have to realize this is old western technology we're dealing with, no planes falling from the sky, and the % of allomancers are fairly small guns are the biggest threat. Really I would just like to see any feruchemical compounding enhanced by duralimun hemalurgy. Imagine how much power one would obtain for a brief moment. Double zinc would give one access to an unlimited supply of enhanced mental speed (intelect) Just imagine what you could accomplish with a duralumin burst of compounded intelect. an IQ of like 1,000 for a few moments, you could solve just about any problem instantly.
  12. Going along with the Hemalurgy accident theory, I think there could be some very interesting combinations. Pewter/pewter + gold would be one of the more powerful combinations. However looking at it from the standpoint of creating something interesting.... it just isn't I'm thinking of Mat from WoT series... Chromium compounding For massive luck. He would also gain the ability to remove metals of anyone he touched, an easy thing to do when incredibly lucky. He is now Over Powered like Chuck Norris's grandmother so you would have to be very careful on which hemalurgic ability you want to give him by "accident" The most interesting thing I can think of is Duralimun allomancy. Surrounded by mistings, even his luck cannot overcome he unleashes duralumin fueled chromium burst removing all metals from everyone within a moderate range. A side effect is an insane burst of luck from compounded chromium being fueled by duralimun. All enemy guns jam at once.... Seriously powerful yet appropriately limited ability.
  13. I don't think it would be appropriate for hemalurgy to be re-discovered. I think it will be introduced more by accident then intentions. Like spook with his pewter. Or perhaps some crazy scientist discovers it and does experiments with it. I would not like it if mistborn compounders could be made in bulk. If one bad guy is made like that kills the hemalurgist who made him that would be fine.... He could always be taken out by a coinshot with nicroburst. In fact that would make a great side plot for book two to distract from the main theme. Perhaps wax will be joined by a nicrosil twinborn. Perhaps nicrosil misting + Duralumin ferring.
  14. I really created an account just to say that cookie looks absolutely delicious. I don't play the rpg however compounding amazes me and can give me headaches... There are some abstract limitations on compounding that are not quite clear though and that gives me the biggest headache of all. If you can store an attribute then burn it for 10 fold the power as TLR did, then filling a ball of atium with age, then burning it to fill larger atium minds you could do this infinitely. You would have to do it more often as you get to 1000 years of age however you would never actually have to spend time aged to gain youth as it is much more effective to just compound the metal over and over again. So why did TLR need to spend time aged. My theory is that you cannot store metalminds with Feruchemical powers burned from allomancy. It would be like drawing from one pewter mind to fill another. However this makes sense and should work... Also atium does not last long so burning it for age would burn through way too much of it. This can be countered by saying you are burning the metal for feruchemical attributes and it will burn differently (doubt it) but possible. So why does TLR have to spend 3 hours aged everyday (presumibly storing other attributes as well because vin stated how poorly he looked overall.) There is something wrong with compounding it is infinite in theory but falls short in practice.... thus my theory that there should be need of a little sleep even for a bronze compounder. I just don't understand why exactly.
