  1. I honestly think this is very simple, all of Scadrials forces would be absolutely decimated by the Rosharan force you describe, apart from TLR. TLR if he was given sufficient time to prepare, several days with metals and a blacksmith, would probably be capable of fighting all of Roshars forces combined unless fully realised knights have abilities that are more broken than we have seen so far.
  2. Just on the last point, while that makes sense you can't compare a protoradiant to a shardbearer and assume they are equal, szeth was said to be stronger than them but we known Kaladin a protoradiant beat him.
  3. Ok so i my mind to make this a fair fight as I have said multiple times, point 1.0 perfetly reasonable if anyone disagrees they are argueing for the sake of an argument. 2.1 again the same. 2.2 yes TLR is OP we get this everyone agrees he is excluded because otherwise he wins, the only situation that could possibly counter this is all of the heralds which is equally rediculous, let's assume both of those situations are ignored. 3.0 Agreed too rare, not a factor 4.1 In my opinion NO, we are using all of first series mistborn advantages so we use everything from both WoK and WoR and they are still at a disadvantage. Roshar gets radiants, I.e. Kaladin, Shallan, Jasnah, lift, ect just to give them access to one of their magic systems, otherwise you have to take allomancy away from scadrial and we all know how one sided it would be then...... All Voidbringers that have been introduced are included. 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 5. See point before. All are included. Assuming all of that which I believe is the least you can possibly assume to make it anywhere near fair then Roshar dominates, no question, even 3 books before it's an 'even' by how far the series has progressed, fight.
  4. Also consider a big part of the high ground advantage is it restricts you to fighting with your weapon held overhead, a shardblade doesn't have this issue, you can just swing through the pile of corpses with no more difficulty than through air, whereas the Koloss attacking would have a much smaller target, in my mind this just increases the advantage a shardbearer has, especially as they will always have good footing while the Koloss in their frenzy will have to scramble over corpses that are hardly stable. Also I would think a shardbearer would be fast enough to jump backwards to a clear spot, while they are nowhere near as agile as Vin/Elend they are still faster than a normal human due to increased strength. Lastly Koloss seem to falter when faced with opponents who are stronger than they are, Vin/ Elend were able to break their frenzy with human soldiers, I would think a couple of shardbearers with parshendi could quite easily accomplish the same.
  5. Your hypothetical situation sounds very accurate and plausible to me, but you are including mistings and not shardbearers, to me a shardbearer is 3-4 times further above a Koloss than a Koloss is above a normal human, mainly just because their weapons aren't hindered by anything they just cut through, shardbearers would demolish Koloss just as easily as anyone else, the only difference is Koloss would actually be a threat if they got any hits in. Supported by alethi infantry shardbearers would cut down Koloss by the dozens. Also I'm not sure if it has been linked to or not yet but there is a WoB in one of the annotations that Ruins army at the end was 200,000 Koloss
  6. Which is all 100% guesswork, we have no way of knowing how diseases from Scadrial would effect people on Roshar or vice versa, and how does Wayne healing using gold feruchemy show how stormlight healing would work?
  7. Ok point 1, your ability to push is determined by your weight, very simply pushing an object pushes you in the opposite direction as should be obvious, shardplate is incredibly heavy so it massively increases the force you can push with. If the shardplate doesn't interfere with allomancy it gives pushing objects away or pulling objects closer a huge amount more power, and obviously the opposite in reverse, steel pushers would be far far less mobile for example. Point 2, shardblades are rosharan relics, they are not easy to steal, they are normally not even in existence, you cannot assume any mistborn will possess one, Atium is firstly a metal so mistborn rarely carry it as they are scared of other mistborn, if/ when they do they normally consume it, then it is limited and in my mind is largely defensive if you are fighting a physically superior opponent. Atium gives very slight foresight, it still relies on reactions and fighting intuition, when you fight someone in shardplate, they are stronger, faster and generally more combat aware than you, that makes it very difficult to fight even when you know what they are going to do, as they will change what they are doing based on what you are doing and if they are faster than you they can react faster than you can. The point about inquisitors I agree 100%, and lastly the credit you are giving Kaladin as a radiant who has just gained his shardblade, has been aware of his powers for a shorter time than any mistborn in the series including Vin, who is obviously incredibly intuitive when it comes to allomancy and has been subconsciously using her powers for a long time, and is rapidly getting stronger and shows no sign of slowing down only further reinforces my point. I would give Kaladin as is a very slight advantage over an average inquisitor, maybe close to Marsh level, though I would give Marsh an advantage over Kal.
  8. In my mind there are two huge pieces of information that I hadn't considered In that post. First, the point about shardplate and allomancy, I think that is huge as I work or have assumed the opposite, Shardplate is actually hugely beneficial to Steel and Iron as it increases your weight. Second, is Szeth being viewed as at a very slight disadvantage compared to mistborn, to me this arguably puts mistborn below Windrunners, whereas I would have believed the opposite before this post, Kaladin is a very weak windrunner whenhe fights Szeth, but Szeth CAN win against mistborn, to me that puts him in their league whereas I do not think he is in Kaladins, Kal uses less stormlight, said has far more endurance, durability, can heal from worse injuries (shardblade wounds, Szeth thinks he can't help from these), no limit on his shardblade, can use surgebinding without his blade, that's all I can think of but I'm sure there are more. Surely this puts Kaladin above a mistborn, which is huge?
  9. I sort of agree and sort of disagree, many of the soldiers we see not just the hazekillers use non metal weapons. The duelling canes in particular seem to be fairly popular. I'm not saying that they don't have metal, they obviously do, just that their most highly trained elite soldiers are the ones who train to fight allomancers, so the quality of their normal troops will be poor in comparison with Rosharan troops who have elite units mixed in. Another thing I was sort of thinking when writing that post though I didn't include it is that scadrians don't really have wars, just minor rebellions so there soldiers are more like militia than professional soldiers.
  10. Oh I agree, surgebinders seem far more powerful than any allomancer alone, obviously apart from mistborn but there are far far fewer.
  11. I think I may have said this before, but I'll repeat as it was a long way back, a large part of this argument is very difficult to make a 'fair' fight, the books on Roshar have far more basic tools available at the start and develop hugely through the books, mistborn have most of their tools available for the first series available at the start of the first series. What I'm saying is essentially that you can't remove radiants from roshar unless you take allomancy from scadrial because that is voiding one of their magic systems due to how the plot of the book is working. Currently the only place I can see being somewhat fair is the current Roshar at the END of WoR against the Scadrial mentioned, that allows Roshar it's magic system however it also hugely limits it, only a few radiants have said oaths and even those that have are only 1-3 oaths in, maybe a little more for Shallan? I know there was a WoB that said she was more advanced than Kal? The other hugely relevant argument here is how easily Scadrial could take down Shardbearers, seeing how quickly Adolin can move and how devastating Shardblades are if Coinshots couldn't penetrate plate relatively easily allomancers would die very quickly, any general with sense would just send their shardbearers to kill anyone who showed the slightest amount of 'wizardry' or unusual abilities. The last important factor to consider is equipment, Scadrial is aware of Allomancers so it seems to me as if their equipment has evolved to deal with that, which has made it generally far less suitable to deal with traditional weapons. Though obviously Steel and Iron will wreak havok on metal equipment as well.
  12. Also remember that every person who is spiked wil lessen the power of that spike, even if the loss is 10% (I think it's much more) then that would be a 1% loss per encounter, which btw any military commander would view as huge
  13. Australia is approximately 1.5% of the total area of the planet, while water is about 72% that would mean Australia alone is 5-6% of the land on earth, I don't understand how that can be viewed as 'relatively small' relative to what Jupiter?
  14. Australia might look relatively small on a map or a globe, the scaleing is off, Australia is storming huge.
  15. I was reading another thread and this diagram was linked, my first question is whether it is official or fan created? As this kinda goes out of the window if it is fan created. Anyway I was looking at the connections between orders, each order is connected to four others. It seems to me to be very odd that the major characters that are confirmed radiants all seem to be linked to each other with only a few outliers. For example Kaladin, Windrunners, is connected to Lifhtweavers, Shallan, Bondsmiths, Dalinar, Edgedancers, I'm fairly confident he will meet Lift very soon and Skybreakers, possible Szeth?, that last one is very questionable at the moment I know. But in my mind the two other characters who have influenced Kaladin the most so far are Dalinar and Shallan and they are connected. Another example Shallan, connected to Elsecallers, Jasnah, Truthwatchers, Renarin, Stonewards, which I'll get to in a moment and as I said before Windrunners, again I would say Kaladin and Jasnah were the most influential characters for Shallan followed by Adolin, I'm assuming her and Renarin with get more closely involved in book 3. Next Dalinar, Bondsmiths, connected to Windrunners, Stonewards and Truthwatchers. Kaladin, Renarin and Stonewards. Jasnah in my opinion hasn't really been developed hugely thus far, she was dead most of WoR, the same with Lift we have only seen her in a few places so far. So while I have used them as connections to other characters I couldn't do one for them as they are largely connected to 'unknown' orders but I honestly don't think this is a flaw. Renarin, Truthwatchers is connected to Bondsmiths, Dalinar, Lightweavers, Shallan and Edgedancers, Lift. This is my second assumption, Kaladin Lift being the first, that they will meet soon in book 3. The major flaw in this is those two assumptions, I don't really have anything to go on for them and the Stonewards don't really fit at all, my theory is that Adolin will become a Stoneward. I am aware of the vinesword awakening theory that seems to be popular at the moment but honestly I can't see Adolin as an Edgedancer, this fills the gap with both Dalinar and Shallan as he majorly affects both characters and would be the only real character to fit, that we have seen so far. Feel free to shoot holes in this, was just something I thought was interesting, maybe too much of a coincidence.
