  1. Stories I would like to see: -first trapper visits Patji -Vasher and Shashara research and create Nightblood -The founding of the Iriali -Khriss leaving Taldain for Silverlight -Ceration and activation of the Father Machine
  2. Bondsmith. Imagine being able to tell an Awakened weapon, "kill your target" and then using Connection to define the target. Or an Awakened computer that used Connection to be readable to anyone in the Cosmere.
  3. I think it was a vial of metals. My question is, if so, how did he open Honor's path? That was made specifically clear. I wonder if Cusicech is a construct designed to absorb a tiny amount of Investiture from everyone who sees him every day. Once he has enough Investiture from the local system, he then opens a portal to move the Iriali using that Investiture.
  4. A nice, modern kitchen and the chance to prepare a plate of Taravangian Tartare for Ashe.
  5. New relevant WoB: Seems that yellow was never part of the picture.
  6. Look up the Lake Toba event. Humanity was reduced to 70,000 individuals. Is that apocalyptic enough for you?
  7. I think that the Shroud and Nightmares shed some light on what may have happened on Threnody. In both places, Shadows (shades/nightmares) appear black and inky. They also tend to attack one victim initially. On both planets they are formed when someone dies in a particular way. On Threnody it was by ritual (per Nazh), while on Yumis world it was by getting your Spiritual aspect sucked out by a machine. On both planets a Shard suffered a mortal wound. On both planets there were a small group of survivors. What does this suggest about Threnody?
  8. Yumi was a Splinter of Virtuosity. I suspect she was able to access a large chunk of Virtuosity's Investiture to help Painter reincarnate herself. Also, being a Splinter of Virtuosity, the machine could not strip her Investiture away. I would argue that the others she perceived in her reality were Cognitive Shadows, aligned with the Shades from Threnody.
  9. From the WoBs cited there seems to be an argument that Nightblood's steel was converted into a God metal-like element. Harmonium is like super cesium. Could it be that the secret to Nightblood's sentience comes from Investiture being stuffed into its atoms to make a super steel?
  10. Silver has three known effects: it can repel/reverse effects of a shade attack, it can shatter a Luhel bond, and it can anchor a traveler through a Cognitive anomaly. We also have a suggestion in the Coppermind that it could kill spren permanently. What do these all have in common? They all involve a Cognitive entity in the Physical Realm or the other way around. Shades are Cognitive Shadows attacking people in the Physical Realm. The Luhel bond is a Physical exchange with a Cognitive entity. The chain is used for a Physical entity moving in the Cognitive Realm. My theory is that silver prevents the Investiture from Cognitive entities from affecting the Physical. This explains all the uses of silver we know. Shades cannot cross Physical silver without interacting with it which would block their Investiture. The Investiture damage from Shades can be reversed because the investiture has to corrupt the Physical body. The effect on the Luhel bond would be obvious. Spren, being in the Physical Realm, would be very susceptible to silver since they are entirely Investiture in a Cognitive entity. The Investiture from the anomaly can't affect the Physical traveler.
  11. My thoughts: Harmony: Twinlight Autonomy: Sandlight Preservation: Welllight Ruin: Decaylight Devotion: Citylight Dominion: Lordlight or Skailight if you love puns Ambition: I love the Shadelight suggested earlier. Endowment: Breathlight
  12. This has some interesting implications in spiking yourself to avoid detection by things like Seekers. I could see an assassin spiking themselves, getting in the room with their victim, pulling the spike, and driving nails through them with A-steel. Nobody would be able to detect them as a Coinshot prior to the assassination.
  13. Also our planet has large amounts of readily available salt because it is dissolved in our oceans. Lumar does not have a saltwater ocean, so salt is likely not as easily obtainable.
  14. I'm not sure but I did a reread and it only says that he has been there for at least 300 years. He clearly prefers to work in secret, and may have been there far longer. Riina discovered that he was there, not that he arrived. This is an important distinction, as it suggests he predates Riina's arrival.
  15. My personal crazy theory: the men of red and gold are awakened sculptures containing nuclear bombs. They are the "bearers of the final metal". What is the last naturally occurring metal on the periodic table? Uranium. What do they do? Wipe out planet's. What does this really well? A lot of nukes.
