Where does the Oathstone fit? Ancient fabrial, but it doesn't really match Khriss's categories, and it doesn't require Stormlight to operate.

There are 4 standalone puzzles and 1 meta puzzle. The meta puzzle (entitled "Cosmere") is not solvable without solving 3-4 of the standalone puzzles. Or maaaaybe even just 2.

Last year I wrote some puzzles for the Microsoft Puzzle Hunt. They're Cosmere-themed and I thought I'd share them here. Some of these puzzles are not easy, but they're certainly orders of magnitude easier than figuring out some of the encodings in the Stormlight Archive we've seen accomplished on these forums! Each puzzle has a single word or very short phrase answer. The four Shardworld puzzles feed into the meta puzzle named Cosmere. The most startable is probably Roshar, the easiest overall is probably Nalthis. I'll answer questions, clarify, and give answer confirmations spoilered in this thread. Many words which Brandon capitalizes turn out to be relevant to magic systems. Some obviously, like Stormlight, some less, like Thrill. I've compiled all the words in WoK and WoR that didn't feel like they were obviously just place names, person names, nations, etc. or something which is widely known to be Investitureful. Oh! I didn't know this. Did I misread WoB somewhere? I thought we just knew Adonalsium could have been split differently, not anything about why it split the way it did.

Meta: there are 16 Shards. Brandon planned things for a while before writing. He likes systems. I think some shards originally had different names (Odium = Hate, Devotion = Love)? It's very likely he began with 8 pairs of near-opposites, and those morphed into the Intents we see today. Likely they started with simpler names. Like Love/Hate. Meta: we see lots of cosmeric terms in the descriptions of Aons, including some Shards, some Surges, etc. Likely there are some unknown Intents in there. So let's look! Omi - Love - "Aon Omi would ... [make] actively maintaining a sense of hatred difficult." Eshe - Gift, Endowment - maybe Gift was Endowment's original name Mai - Honor Other likely intents from the Aon meanings: Punishment, Retribution Justice Mercy Order (was this Preservation?) Wisdom Grace Hope Protection Solemnity Death

Why would Kelsier have any obligation whatsoever to Die? No one knows what's "beyond", right? It's just death as we know it but removed a level? "Enough whining, get in the cosmeric garbage collector and we promise you'll, um, see your wife."

If lots of people stored attributes, would the metalmind gain sentience?

The Well of Ascension, Chapter 54, Section 1 Clearly Vin has become a Windrunner Level 2 and is drawing upon the Determination she has stored in the Second Ideal to fuel her overpowered pewter attacks. Just as clearly this specifies when Kaladin is allowed to kill.
