  1. Can metal natively forged on Roshar be used to power allomancy? I always assumed that the investiture was natively imbued into the metal when it's forged on Scadrial. Forging iron on Scadrial would have the necessary investiture to power allomancy but iron forged on Roshar would not. Is this correct?
  2. Wow this discussion has certainly taken on a life of its own. We simply do not know enough about Amaram's past to say one way or the other regarding his true character. Is it all an act? Is there some other reason why he acts so honorable when all evidence points to the fact that is in fact not honorable? Almost all of our information is heresay, second hand information about Amaram's reputation. I think we can all agree that Amaram has a widely believed reputation as being honorable. At some point in his past, he was perhaps a more diabolical and/or ruthless person than he is presented in tWoK and WoR. We don't have a POV perspective to know anything specific. Knowing how Sanderson textures and foreshadows larger plot and character developments in his books, this rich background that he's given Amaram has to lead somewhere. Hopefully we'll get more information about Amaram and his past and more information about the group is he involved in.
  3. I guess I was trying to figure out why Amaram would go to so much trouble to put on this honorable facade. Is he just deluding himself with all of this honor speak? Even when he is alone with Sadeas on the battlefield, he chastises Sadeas for going after the gemhearts to undermine Dalinar's goals. Sadeas next calls him out and lets him know that he's aware that Amaram wasn't always so honorable. I'm on my third read through and it seems like each time I finish the book I am left with more questions than answers. And really, the breadth of information; names, places, events is really quite overwhelming.
  4. Hopefully no one else has posited this theory yet... But my guess is that Amaram's honorable demeanor is a ploy on his part to attract an honorspren. He's a member of the Sons of Honor, so he knows all about the Knights Radiants and all of their orders. Thoughts...?
