  1. Hean walked in to Keep Venture. The previous night's festivities having died down, it seemed like a ghost town. Not wanting to miss anything that might happen, he sat down at a table and waited for the festivities to start back up.
  2. Does anyone know if Spencer is still playing? I haven't seen a post from him since that first night, before roles were completely sent out. Besides him, I think I've seen a post from everyone else in the game.
  3. This seems like a tenuous argument to me. The existence of a larger threat can make even the worst of enemies unite against it, and Hoid is running from the members of the 17th Shard. Why would a group like that be chasing him, unless he'd done something of which they disapprove strongly?
  4. I love Kaladin and Wayne. As characters go, they are two of my favorites. That being said, I have to say Vin and Shallan. The greatest assassin in the Cosmere (IMO) with illusion support? I don't see how anything beats that. You make an assassin invisible or distract the opponents from her and I don't see a counter to that. Kaladin and Wayne may have the individual advantage over their counterparts, but their synergy is highly lacking.
  5. I would say the only things preventing that are the possibility of deceit from the Great House spies, who could post their list while just changing the name. It would make it easier after we found one of the spies, but much more difficult before. Also, the possibility of abuse from competitive types who want to get the secondary win condition by killing off the competition, rather than using the marriage contract to increase the size of their house. Those are the 2 reasons that come most easily to mind. EDIT: pluralization
  6. I, for one, am going to figure out how this system works. Hopefully that involves not immediately dying. Hean sits alone, as he is accustomed, in his study. "Tonight," he thinks to himself, "is not a night to act. It is a night to learn." It had taken him longer to arrive at this conclusion than he'd care to admit, but arrive he had. When he'd received the assignment to become involved in this contest, it had been something of a surprise. He felt under-qualified for such a grand game, but determined not to lose hope. He would learn, and once he understood the nature of this contest, he would act. Interesting indeed, that a man such as he would be trusted with such an important assignment, but the House must have its reasons. Maybe his reputation had been forgotten. Or maybe, instead, the House had decided that it made him expendable, and that his death would be no great loss for the house. "Well," he thought, "I have no choice either way. I must survive this."
  7. I absolutely loved WoR. I was at the release signing, and finished it within 24 hours of it coming out, taking off work that day specifically to do so. I was not disappointed. Though, to be fair, Brandon has yet to disappoint.
  8. I've been a huge Sanderfan since my friend introduced me about 4 years ago. I quickly consumed everything I could get my hands on. I haven't read Shadows for Silence in the Forest of Hell or the Alcatraz series, but I've read everything else I can find. I'm considering using these forums to fill some of my currently abundant free time. Any suggestions how to do so?
