  1. I had a really tough time deciding between TWoK and WoR (not that I don't love the rest of them, because I do. Especially Mistborn, I love Mistborn.. and Warbreaker.. and Elantris.. and I'll stop rambling now), but ultimately I decided on TWoK because it was such a great introduction into such a great series, and Kaladin.
  2. Maybe we will get a Where's Waldo themed cover, with a load of people on it and one of them is Hoid! ... but which one? On a serious note, ^This please
  3. Definitely agree with everyone here (hence why we're all here ), Sanderson is the best there is. I also second the Codex Alera. This is the series that brought me into fantasy (and reading in general, but that's a tale for another day). The alleged background of the stories creation is reason enough to read it. So the story goes, Butcher was dared by an online individual to take two ridiculous concepts and use them to inspire a book. Butcher let the individual pick the concepts and he picked Pokemon and the Lost Roman Legions. So, Butcher went ahead a wrote a story and, before posting it online (i think), realized 'hey... this is awesome' and thus the Codex Alera was born. I would also like to give a shout out to The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence. While Jorg is a dark character (with plenty of reason to be), he is amazing. Some of my best memories in reading are from Jorg. Lawrence is poetic in his dialogue, both internal and external. They are also short, quick reads which is an added bonus. Being fairly new to reading, Lawrence is the only author other than Sanderson that I have re-read. That may not do much for your opinion, but it says a lot to me haha.
  4. I haven't double-checked but there are 7 in Shinovar no? We don't currently know where Taln's is? Whether he has it or if that's really Taln or?
  5. I like the idea, but hasn't Brandon said that he doesn't want SA to be as cosmere related as the other books, just more of it's own series? I mean, obviously there are connections and lots of Easter Eggs here and there, but if that were true, wouldn't that make Roshar VERY connected to the cosmere? Those who read SA but haven't read Warbreaker would be like "Nalthis... huh?" and I don't think Brandon wants that for SA. I could be wrong, however.
  6. Hey guys, first time poster, long time lurker here! This here is pretty much what i've been thinking for quite some time now when I look at the map. If you look at it and then google some hurricane images they're pretty similar. I don't think the Purelake is the 'eye' though. If something were to represent an eye, in my opinion it would be the little lake by Rathalas. That seems to be more centered in the large vortex of the 'hurricane' where as the Purelake appears to be on the 'tail' (please forgive my lack of hurricane/weather terminology)
