I've been lurking for a while and I finally managed to summon forth the courage to actually introduce myself (I'm antisocial, don't judge)! My personal recommendations are The Rithmatist (if you enjoy a Harry Potter-esque kind of story), and the novellas Perfect State, Legion series, and short stories Firstborn and Defending Elysium.
