Magical inertness

We all know that in Cosmere, Aluminum is special due to it's magical inertness properties. While reading the White Sand, I see that a similar material that couldn't be affected by sand mastery is terken (living material or species?).

Pure speculation - perhaps terken exhibits weird properties in other magic systems also like Aluminum. We also have no idea how Aluminum behaves in this magic system. Thoughts?

Some people think terken Sandlings are Sandlings who have trace of Bauxite in their carapace.

The Bauxite is mineral Alluminium and it may be assimilated by some Sandlings during their lives

Being scientific, I think terken is a sort of organic armor that reacts violently with water. It may have a natural combination of an alkali element (sodium?) that makes it this way.

Except there is no water involved...

only metallic aluminium is immune, as aluminium comprises a large part of earth's crust (and, being lightweight and not mixing well with molten iron, it is likely to be present in large amounts in the crust of any rocky planet). so just containing trace bauxite would not be enough, or pretty much anything would be immune to magic. it is possible to imagine a living creature making metallic aluminium - though that's not normally the way of living creatures - but then aluminium is not dissolved by water, not before several years at least.
