The Curse of the Koloss

The Villagers watched in horror as it had done a thousand times before, the village of Tyrian Falls coalesced from the Mist around them. The buildings would change. The seasons would change. Even the people would change.

What never changed was the fact that they were trapped in an endless cycle of bloodshed and destruction.

As the sun crested the horizon, burning away the last wisps of mist and causing the village to finish solidifying, they could tell that, this time, it was late Fall. The ash falling from the sky was swirled about by the slightly crisp winds.

Slowly, the memories of all the deaths and betrayals faded from the villagers’ minds. The only time that they remember that they had slaughtered each other hundreds of times over was when things would reset as they just had. Then, it would all come rushing back to assault them anew.

But ignorance is bliss and they never remembered for long. Never long enough to realize what was happening. Never long enough to remember that there were Koloss coming for them. Never long enough to prevent it.

Each time, they had to rediscover these things anew, including the fact that there were Spiked amongst them; plotting everyone’s destruction….

Wow. Three years. You guys are insatiable! How many people must you all kill before you’re satisfied? :P
While the rest of the world was lamenting about 2016, I’d say that we all had a pretty awesome year with some amazing games. And it’s all thanks to all of you, our players. Thank you so much for signing up and playing and making these games the best around!

Before we get into the rules for the AG this year (and even if you’ve read them from a previous game, you’re going to want to go over them again this time), an announcement of just one of the things that we’ll be changing for the upcoming year*.

One thing that we noticed over this last year is that we’ve had a lot of Non-Sanderson related games this past year. We’ve traveled to Westeros, Temerant, Japan, Alera, Kanto, Mars, and Cyrodiil; though there might be others that I missed. This isn’t exactly a bad thing. We like being able to introduce people to new settings and this a great way to do it.

But we’d like to focus this upcoming year to getting back to our roots. Games have gotten increasingly complex as well as the number of Non-Sanderson related works.

So we’re limiting the number of Non-Sanderson games for the upcoming year to 3-4. This way, we’ll still be able to explore new series and new settings, but we’ll be able to really build the SE lore as well.

And we’ve come up with a pretty fun way of deciding which Non-Sanderson games will be run during the next year, if I do say so myself! :)

For those of you who either played LG2 or have read it, you’ll know that there was an addition in that game called Cosmetic Roles. These roles didn’t affect the game, but provided some fun ideas for people to play around with. We’ve expanded on the ones in that game and added them to this AG.

Every player will not only need to sign up with a character, but they also either have to pick a cosmetic role from the list below or, pending GM approval, create one of their own. The players that followed their Cosmetic Role the best (chosen by the Mods) will be able to choose which Non-Sanderson related games will be ran in the upcoming year. They don’t have to use it right away. They could hold onto it for a fun game that they see in the Art of Game Creation thread or even run one of their own choosing.

And that’s it! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. On to AG 3! The Curse of the Koloss.

*Keep an eye on the Q&A thread for more. We have some ideas we’ll be running by you guys that we think will greatly increase everyone’s enjoyment of these games. ;)

Oh no! Koloss have begun advancing on your little town, Tyrian Falls! Since The Lord Ruler died, they seem to be acting with a mind of their own. Unfortunately for you, your town is a way point between Fadrex City and Luthadel. This means you have a stockpile of metals. Perhaps that's why they targeted you in the first place.

On the other hand, you have a large collection of metals. So you might be able to hold them off. ….Unless there’s someone (or a conspiracy of someones) out to undermine your defenses.

Somehow, before the Koloss arrive, you have to rid your town of these dissenters; those that are Spiked. Until then, you won't be able to mount an effective defense for your town. If you fail, everyone dies, so you better not fail!

Factions:

Spoiler

The Villagers: Your Goal is to rid your town of the Spiked hiding among you so you can protect yourself from the rampaging Koloss. You win when all of the Spiked are dead and gone.

The Spiked: You are servants of Ruin, who is guiding you on your quest to hamper the Villagers. Whether it is just because of Ruin's desire to see everything destroyed or it the destruction of this village plays some bigger part, you don't know. You win when you outnumber the Villagers and can thus take over the town.

Some people within the town have been hiding a few secrets; some of them are Mistings, so you have help in your battle versus the forces of Ruin. Although some of them may be Spiked instead. Why can't anything be easy?

Roles:

Spoiler

Thug: They can survive a single attack. If they are killed during a night or day cycle, they survive and this will be revealed in the write up. If they are attacked again, they die; finally.

Tineye: They are messengers and are capable of writing messages to the town while remaining anonymous. Each night, they can send a message to the Game Master. He will then post it within the write up at the end of the night. As long as the Tineye is alive, players can send Private Messages back and forth. Once he dies, he can no longer deliver messages, so no more PMs.

Smoker: The Smoker is undetectable and he can extend this power to one other person each night. If scanned by a Seeker, the smoker or the person encompassed within his coppercloud will show up as nothing. Alternatively, the Smoker can turn his coppercloud off. This would allow them to be scanned. In addition to being undetectable by the Seeker, the Smoker and his target are unaffected by emotional Allomancy. As long as the Smoker is using their coppercloud, the Soother and Rioter cannot change their votes.

Seeker: The Seeker can sense when someone is burning metals. In fact, he/she has gotten so good that they can tell whether someone is spiked or not! Once per night, the Seeker can target someone to learn their abilities and alignment.

Coinshot: The Coinshot does what they do best. They push metals around; specifically into other people's bodies. Once per night, the Coinshot can target a person for death. Unless otherwise disrupted, that person dies.

Lurcher: Where the Coinshot pushes, the Lurcher pulls. Once per night the Lurcher can target someone and that person will be saved from death.

Soother: Their ability to dampen emotions puts them and the Rioter in a very special position. During any time during the day round (up until the round ends), they can negate one person's vote. The change will be anonymous, but since I will be posting voting results at the end of each day, those that are observant should be able to tell whose votes were changed.

Rioter: The Rioter works in a similar fashion as the Soother, except once during the day round they can change one person's vote. Using this power does nullify their own vote though. They are still capable of voting, but their vote will not be counted. The change itself will be anonymous, but since I will be posting voting results at the end of each day, those that are observant should be able to tell whose votes were changed.

Mistborn: The Mistborn have the abilities of all of the above, but will only be able to use one per cycle. At the beginning of every night, the Mistborn will be told which ability they have and it's the only ability they have until the next night.

Regular Villagers: You have no special powers, but you still get a vote every day. Who knows? Perhaps you were meant to be the one to save the town! Not all stories are about the strongest people in a group.

Spiked: Beyond possibly having one of the above roles, you can hear Ruin talking to you. He's told you who else in the town is spiked and together you're to keep the town from mounting a defense before the Koloss arrive. In return, you will be spared. Your goal is to kill one person per night until you outnumber the villagers.

A new addition to the AG, this year everyone will also choose a Cosmetic Role when they create a character for the game. A Cosmetic Role does not affect the mechanics of the game in any way. They are there mainly for RP and entertainment purposes. If you’re not a big roleplaying person, that’s okay. There are ways to do a Cosmetic Role without a lot of RP or even just a couple sentences, so I don’t expect this to be too much of a burden for anyone.

You can either choose one from the list we have below or you can create your own, pending GM approval of your Cosmetic Role. Have fun!

Cosmetic Roles:

Spoiler

High Imperial - Wasing the wanting of speaking in High Imperial. You must use it at least somewhere in your posts. Note: you do not have to use it for every sentence and you still need to be mostly intelligible. Shivertongue did this one for LG2, so if you’re curious how to remain intelligible while also using High Imperial, this is a good example of a way to do it.

Survivor Priest - Kelsier wasn't just a famous crew leader for you. Perhaps you were in Luthadel during the riots. Perhaps you saw him come back. Regardless, you're a believer and must make reference to the Survivor or the Survivor religion in each post.

Drunk - You're never far from a bottle. Heck, sometimes you sleep with one curled in your hands. The reason you drown yourself in alcohol is your own, but within every post, you need to slur some of your words and/or appear to be drunk in some fashion.

Cassanova - Good looks are such a curse; one you know all too well. While you didn't ask for it, to you, it's obvious that you are the best looking person ever and you won't let anyone forget it. In every post, you need to remind everyone of what a heartbreaker you are.

The Jaist - Somehow, somewhere, you heard about Jaism and knew it to be perfect for you. Now that the Lord Ruler is gone, you've taken up the mantle of this lost religion and in Jaist fashion, you frequently mention your faith. You must end your posts with "Praise the Ja."

Unlucky - Things rarely go right for you and even when they do, it always goes horribly wrong shortly after.  Each post you must lament on how life is unfair to you.

Hopeful Orphan - Your parents left you at a young age but they said they would be back for you one day. Each post you must either talk about your parents or ask another player if they know your parents.

Terris Steward - You live to serve others. You just don’t feel complete unless you’re waiting on someone, retrieving an item, delivering a message, you name it. Each post, you must wait on someone else.

Compulsive Gambler - You love to bet. It doesn't even matter what you are betting on.  Every post must contain either a bet or a comment of how you won some fabulous prize.

Glutton - You love to eat and eat and eat. You just can’t seem to stop. Every post, you must eat at least one food item.

Scholarly - Reading is your favourite pastime. In fact you are rarely seen without a book either in your hands or bulging from a pocket. Every post must contain you quoting from a book.

Mistwraith Ate My Parents - You suspect your parents were eaten by a Mistwraith and now have a strong aversion to going out into the mists. Every post you must either lament the loss of your parents or curse the Mists.

House Lord - As a nobleman, you’re better than the rest of the ‘people’ in this town. And you love to remind them of that fact. Every post, you must either reference your cultural or racial superiority, or you must purchase a luxury good.

Narcissist - You think that you’re better than everyone else and you don’t really care about the problems of others. In every post, you must show that you’re better than everyone else or how little you care about others.

Creative Cook - Food is always in short supply but you have learnt to make do with what you have. Every post you must either cook some exotic food or talk about meals you created from some unappetizing/spoiled ingredients.

Jokester - You look on the funny side of life. After all what's the point of living if you can't have a laugh or two. Every post must contain either a joke or a funny story.

Tinker - You love to learn how things work, mostly by pulling them apart and trying to put them back together again.  Each post must contain your character fiddling with a mechanical item or designing a mechanical item.

Forgetful - Your mind isn't what it used to be.  Each post must contain you starting one thing, either a sentence or task, and end with you doing something else completely unrelated.

Excitable - You get excited about basically everything.  Each post must contain you being happy about something, either something you done or something another player has done.

Kleptomaniac - Whether you’re a free-spirited “trader” like Wayne or a greedy street urchin, you can’t seem to keep your hands off other people’s stuff. In every post, you must steal or ‘trade’ at least one item.

Guardsman - Bodyguard or a part of the militia, you hold to your code. In every post, you must mention guarding something or comment about “the law.”

Hobbyist - You have something that you do on the side. Maybe you collect rare metals or gardening or whatever; but you’re passionate about it. You must reference your hobby in some way in every post.

Neat - You like things to be neat and clean.  Ash and dirt are not things you like to see.  Every post must contain you cleaning something.

Past Life - This isn't your first time being alive and you know it. You dream about other lives you have led before this one.  They don't end well.  Each post you must include something about one of your past lives.

Gossip - You love hearing about the little tidbits that are going on in other people’s lives. Almost as much as you love spreading them! In every post, you must either acquire some new gossip or spread some new piece of gossip (remember, not all gossip always happens to be true).

Handicapped - You’ve lost an eye or a leg or an arm or a hand or something and it makes your life a bit more difficult. In every post, you must reference your particular handicap in some way.

Elderly - You’re best years are behind you. You’ve lived, laughed, and loved and now you’re starting to get to the point where you’re knocking on death’s door. Whether this makes you wise, grumpy, content, etc. is up to you. In every post, you must make note of your age in some way.

Allergic to Metal - No one envies your place in life, considering the planet you’re on. You’re allergic to metals. This means no forks, no swords, no metal buttons. If you do come in contact with metal, you tend to break out in a reaction. In every post, you must show the steps you take to keep yourself safe.

Obligator - You still have faith in the Lord Ruler. Whether you think his death is a hoax or you think he will return, you haven’t wavered. In every post, you must make reference to the Lord Ruler or his, er, rule.

Prophetic - Perhaps you know the truth and believe Vin will doom the world. Perhaps you think you’re the “Announcer” and are heralding in a new age. No matter what you believe, you believe it entirely. In every post, you must make reference to your prophecy.

We'll be starting on a Night round. This is due to the fact that that was how it was before and I think it will give people a chance to establish some RP before the game actually starts (which always helps make the write ups better, IMO). Also, this should avoid a lot of the typical Day 1 issues of people feeling like they have nothing to go off of on the first day.

Order of Actions for the Night will be:
-Smoker
-Seeker
-Lurcher
-Coinshot/Kills

Days will be 48 hours long and Nights will be 24 hours long. Rollover should be close to 11PM-12AM EST.
No hints will be given in the write ups.
Allegiance and Roles will be reveal upon death.

And we're ready to begin! Sign ups will last a week, so we'll be starting on Jan 9th. Will this be the time that the curse is finally broken? Let's find out! Good luck!

A few questions now that I've read the rules more carefully:

1. Does the Thug's once per game protection from death work on the lynch?

2. When a Rioter cancels their own vote by using their power, is their vote removed from the official tally? It seems like yes, but that seems like it would be really easy to figure out who is a Rioter.

3. If a Rioter both votes and riots a Smoker (or the one protected by the Smoker), is the Rioter's vote canceled even though they are unable to change the Smoker's vote? Or does the Smoker's vote count since they were essentially roleblocked?

4. When a Seeker attempts to use their power on a Spiked Smoker, are they told the Smoker is innocent, or are they told that their attempt to Seek someone was prevented by a Smoker?

5. Do eliminators get a night kill? I assume so, but I don't see it explicitly stated above.

6. Is there an eliminator kill on Night 0?

7. Can a Coinshot use their vig kill on Night 0?

8. Were my parents really eaten by Mistwraiths?

1. Yes it does.
2. Yes it is. And everyone always says that, but that never winds up being the case. ;)
3. Smoking is not a Roleblock. The Emotional Allomancy, whether a Rioter or Soother, is prevented; not stopped before it happens. Thus, a Rioter's vote would be canceled even though they were unable to change their target's vote.
4. A Seeker will get back a "undetectable" reading if they target a Smoker or a Smoker's target.
5. The Spiked do indeed get a Night Kill. It does take up the player's action for the Night though.
6. Yes. Everyone can use any of their abilities on Night 0. So, if you're lucky enough, a Seeker could find a Spiked on the first night.
7. See above. Everyone can use any of their abilities Night 0.
8. Mistwraiths don't really have mouths so to speak and chewing is probably not something they do either- err, I mean I guess we'll just have to wait and see! :P

I'll sign up. Senn Conrad, back to live through the nightmare once more!

Senn is a minor nobleman, who is also fully aware that he's lived through this before. Twice, in fact. The odd thing is,  the first time he lived through it, he was a servant of Ruin. The second time, his matter abandoned him and Ruin's servants killed him N1. This time, he doesn't know what he'll be.

Past Lives, if you don't mind.

Urteau, Silverlight, Urithiru, Luthadel, the Ire, The Shattered Plains.

And now Tryian Falls.

He knew the signs. The randomly spontaneous gathering of so many diverse people. Some talkative, so quiet and watchful. All paranoid and bloodthirsty. The rumours of saboteurs and murderers hiding in their midst. Men and women pretending to be friendly but willing to kill in the night. The way that the locations was mysteriously empty of anyone unimportant.

The game was afoot. And Jack Tormander got another shot and life.

The first thing he did when his memories returned was to swear, quietly, under his breath so that his family didn't hear. The second thing he did was to see if any powers or skills from previous lives had carried over with the memories. Unfortunately, they did not. Just the allomancy. Which was disappointing, considering how good he had gotten at awakening under Sani's tutelage. After that, he got to work.

He began to make rounds of the town figuring out who the others were. He could almost always tell at a glance if someone was important or not. The extremely average looking skaa leaning against the wall? Just someone put there to flesh out the town. But the mustachioed man telling bad pickup lines to a fawning woman? He was important. The generic innkeeper wasn't, the man screaming about the Future was, the man pulling water from the well wasn't, but the woman rifling through his pockets was. Once he was certain that he had a complete list of eventual murder victims, he set about understanding the limits.

Sure enough, the powers were all limited. Each of them could only to one thing. No matter how he strained, he couldn't kill someone with Pewter or Iron, only Steel. Nor could he save a life with Steel or Pewter, only Iron. He'd never really understood why that was. What cruel god saw fit to give them powers, but then limit them to one specific task? No sense at all.

Finally, when the sun was just slipping down below the horizon, he began to figure out what was going to be the spark this time. How would they all suddenly realize they needed to kill eachother every day to see who the saboteurs were, rather than just being sensible and strip searching everyone for spikes? These lives never made any sense! His best guess as to the spark was that something about the defenses would go wrong. probably a palisade or wall would get set on fire in the night. His best guess as to why these situations happened was that the gods were all just jerks.

Either way, at least he was alive again, after having been executed sometime in a parallel future. Another day, another death.

There was a slight pop as Hal appeared out of thin air. From the top of the hill, he could see the hapless Tyrian Falls spread out before him. It seemed peaceful, but he knew it was just the eye of the Highstorm, the peace before another Desolation. He wondered if this cycle of death and misery had been the result of a previous Vessel of Odium. There was a touch of Hate here, he felt. But not his own own, and he Hated not knowing. He knew he wouldn't, or more, couldn't get involved directly. That hadn't stopped him from inducing some shared nightmares of his own. Maybe it would be enough to make a difference.

It's AG3!

I won't be playing - I'm going on hiatus for the foreseeable future - so just popping in to wish the village good luck! Hopefully anyone who played the last MR or QF (or both!) will be able to put anything they learned to good use!

While I'm here, just wanted to comment on the Cosmetic roles:

Firstly, why no 'Bard' role - making a song reference in every post, with bonus points for full or partial parodies? I mean, Scholarly is close, but still...

Secondly, I'm slightly concerned that RAW, they'll discourage discussion a bit - including really specific RP stuff like in most of those is going to prohibit discussion done over lots of short back-to-back posts. RPing those is bad enough, having to whine about your parents in every breath would be awful.  It'd be a bit unrealistic to have a conversation where that's in every sentence. A few times a cycle, sure, but not every post. Now, you do say that, as far as the 'awards' go, players are chosen by the mods as doing the best job at conveying that Cosmetic role, which to me implies it's okay if stuffs not necessarily in each post, if it is clearly portrayed as an important part of you character when you make larger RP posts. Is that an okay assumption?

Quintus is over on Roshar, so instead, Remart will join the game here. He's more than a bit of a glutton, though thanks to an overactive metabolism, he remains under 300 lbs...most of the time. Edit: (I didn't think about two roles, which is an awesome idea). The fact that he is missing his left leg, now replaced by a very basic metal prosthetic (like a peg leg, just metal instead of wood), helps keep his body weight down technically, though the metal leg weighs more than an actual leg would.

I like the Bard CR idea. That's a good example of a Cosmetic Role that someone could come up with (you're not limited to our list) and would likely be approved.

You'll notice that there are no repercussions to not using your Cosmetic Role. That's partially due to exactly what you're talking about. If you're going back and forth with someone with only a few short quips, then mentioning it every time would be tedious. I mean, there's ways to do it (like quipping and then building up your character's backstory some more or developing the story in other ways by making things happen around your character or using the setting in a way that influences your character; need I go on?), but not exactly necessary.

What wouldn't really fly is if you quipped with a person and wrote a huge essay about something else, quipped with the person again and wrote another long bit about the game, and so on and never played around with your CR. That would be unacceptable, as you're sidestepping the heart of what the CR is there for.

He hasn't provided a CR, whether one of his own (to be approved by me) or one on the list. Thus why I can't count it. I could see STICK as a possible CR, given the right circumstances, but I won't count it unless he can define it in a way that correlates with the given examples.

For example: STICK- You are a stick. YOU are a stick. Stick you are. In every post, you must talk as a Stick.
From here, you could use something similar to the example I gave of Shivertongue using High Imperial.

"I am Stick."

Spoiler

I think we should vote for ____. I have a gut feeling that they're a Spiked.

I AM Stick."

Spoiler

How dare you accuse me of being Spiked! I've been trying to help the Village since Day 1!

You see the difference? One requires a bit more thought put into it. The other requires saying only two words....

I won't count it unless you make at least a little bit of effort. I don't feel like I'm asking for too much since I came up with even this on the fly.

It began, as all of my problems do, with a woman.

It was twenty past five, and I was doing some filing in the back office when there was a knock on the door. Of course it'd wait until I was about to go home. No rest for the wicked, right? I waited a few minutes to see if my partner would get it, before remembering that he was finishing up another case out of the office. I put the files I was looking through on the cabinet and went to open the door.

The woman flinched a little when she saw me. I guess I know I have that effect on people, but it still hurts to see it. She was a mousey little thing, looked a little nervous in general. I invited her in as I scrambled to think of where I'd seen her before; the village is small, and everybody knew everybody, to some extent. I'd seen her at something official, always hanging back out of the way. Not important, but important in a way.

She introduced herself, and I remembered who she was. Mayor's wife. Well, ex-mayor now, these last few weeks. Widowed so young with a baby on the way. It truly was a tragedy, but the whole world seemed tragic these days. They'd got his killer, strung 'em up a week ago, so at least there was some sense of justice. But I wondered, did that matter to her? It wouldn't make a difference to her kid whether the killer was caught or not. They'd have to grow up without their father either way.

“What can I do for you?” I asked, shaking my head of these thoughts and pulling the chair back for her to sit down, and then sitting down in my own chair behind the desk. “How can our agency be of assistance?”

She told a dark story, of one of the guardsmen on the walls that had been murdered earlier this day. I didn't see the relevance at first, but as she started to break up and cry, unable to finish a sentence, the pieces all fell into place. Same way the love of her life had been killed. But his killer'd been caught, so that meant there was some kind of criminal group going around. The elders of the village apparently thought it was a smuggling ring. Those idiots wouldn't know the first thing about how to do my job. Sure, I hadn't been a guardsman in Luthadel for several years now, but I could still smell a rat. You get a feel for these things.

To me it looked like something much bigger. Those fools couldn't see that the deaths were connected. They thought small, while I was more concerned with the bigger picture here. We're a small town, there's not many murders going on here. Two in a month though? They had to be connected. But if they were, that meant something huge was building up. You don't whack the mayor like that and then do it to a guard just to be able to hock your stuff on the black market. With the mayor dead, the village elders would run around unable to mount any sort of plan, leaving us vulnerable. The guard's death would let them come and go from the village easier. So the question was, what was their plan? I didn't like this one bit.

I reassured her that we would look into it. I didn't bring up our fees or anything; with the world how it was these days, and her being like this, it seemed like a pretty pointless thing to do. Cruel, even. I like to think of myself as a good man, when I'm in a good mood at least. I opened the door for her as she left, listening to her trying to hold back tears. Lord Ruler, I hate this job sometimes. But I wouldn't, couldn't, do anything else either. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror if I just let this go.

We had to do right by those who had died, and bring this group of murderers to justice. It was important, not just for closure, but for the safety of the people of this village. Justice was not only about punishing the perps, but preventing it from happening again. It might seem strange, considering I'm not one of the guard or militia, but I wouldn't do this job if I didn't care. Old habits, maybe. You could even call me an naive idealist if you like, with this idea of any sort of 'justice' in the world – Hell, I'd even agree with you there – but, I guess it matters to me. Sometimes it's tough, but I'm still here.

I returned to my desk and sat down. I leaned back in my chair and pulled out my pouch of dried, crushed leaves. Herbs gown from the isles in the south. Expensive, but every time I took a sniff of the stuff it reminded me why I bought them. I took a pipe out and reached into the pouch for a pinch of the stuff. I frowned as I felt almost nothing left. I'd only bought the stuff a few days ago, and merchants were few and far between in this Lord Ruler-forsaken town. Still, I struck a spark with some flint, sat back and took a drag on the sweet-smelling herbs.

After a while, I decided it'd be best to get out there and have a look. It might be late, but I was used to working the late-shift. Not like anyone ever asked me if I wanted to go home and kip when they brought their problems to me. I finished my break and emptied the ashes into a clay pot. Then, I got up and went to the door. I took my coat and hat from the rack, and picked up my dueling cane. I patted myself down to check I had no metal on me before I left. You could never be too careful these days.

So, dreading the long night ahead and wishing for a stiff drink to see me through it, I went to snoop around the murdered corpse. It was pretty obvious where it was, 'cause there was already a crowd of gawkers there for the free show. I don't know if the guard was married, but his family wouldn't appreciate their neighbours using him like this. But that wasn't my problem. When I got eventually squeezed my way through the crowd, and convinced the other guards to let me take a look, I found my partner was already on the scene. Funny guy. We met several years ago and tried to kill each other. Now we're firm friends. Go figure.

“Poor bastard,” I shook my head as I examined the body. Now, I had no medical training, but I'd guess from the hole in his throat and the bloody knife next to him that he died from a knife in the throat. At least he won't have hung around long after that. Not really quick, but could be worse. Not that it would be any consolation to the guy.

I looked up to my partner. He was worried, he saw the writing on the wall just as much as I did. Neither of us liked what it said. But then, weren't we all worried these days? When the world starts to end, you get a bit like that. Stuff starts unravelling at the seams, stuff like people. But thoughts like that didn't help us solve this case.

I took my pipe out. If anything called for something to settle my nerves, it was this. I filled it up again while I asked my partner to bring me up to speed. As I light up and listened, I sighed a little. It was going to be a long night.

Signing up as Wyl Sharpe, who will be taking the Cosmetic Role of Guardsman, despite not having been an actual guard for many years.

I'm signing up as Nyah, an orphan living on the streets. My parents left my brother and I one day, and I never knew why. Maybe they couldn't afford to feed my brother and I anymore, or maybe they just went for a short trip. All I know is that whenever I asked him, my brother always said that Mistwraiths ate my parents. Who knows, maybe they did? At the least, I know Mistwraiths are behind the recent troubles. Perhaps the Lord Ruler was eaten by one too? At the very least, they must be stopped, whatever the cost.

Herwynbe meticulously dusted the ash off of his steward's robes, then carefully donned them. He had work to be about, and his Master had been quite specific in Herwynbe's instructions. Herwynbe didn't question those instructions- that was not his place. His place was to attend to his Master's affairs, promptly and neatly, and that is what he would do.

The steward stepped out into the streets and glanced to the west- the sun was low in the sky- not quite to the edge of the horizon. The mists would be out soon. He walked to edge of the crowd that had formed- another murder, it seemed, and called out to the milling throng. His voice was not particularly loud and was far from forceful, but it held an air of calm assurance that caused it to carry through the crowd anyway.

"My friends and fellow citizens, my master bids you a good evening. Darkness will be upon us soon, I am afraid, but my Master has offered all of you sanctuary in the manor until the night has passed. If you will follow me, you will find the accommodations both more comfortable and secure than those you would find at an inn or tavern, I think."

It seems like in all of these games our meeting place is the local bar or tavern- I thought we'd mix it up a bit and hang out in a slightly different setting- Herwynbe's anonymous Master's manor house. Of course if people would rather not go there, that's fine, too.

Its been a while, but I'm excited to be back for AG3! :D

Oh... I already playing 2 games, but atleast for month I'm absolutely free so I think I can play one more :D. So I signing up.
Can I take two Cosmetic roles? If I can then I take Forgetful and Past life, if I can't then I choose only Past life.

That was evening or that was just morning I'm was not sure about that cause ash unstoppably fall from the sky, yeah ash falling from the sky was usual for this part of year, for every part of year... ohh colours. But today there was even more ash falling from the sky.
I slowly approached to the small town... what reason was for that? Why I go to this town? Who knows, not me. Only reason that I've seen for that that I was mercenary, how long ago I choose this work or better to say this way in life... honestly I can't remember. I even don't remember all my own story. Once I just wake up in old dirty inn, that was my first memory. How long ago that was? Twenty years ago I think or that was just yesterday, but I can't be sure in it. Why? Hmm... because I've not aged even little bit for that twenty years. Sometimes I see the dreams about colorful land with green grass and those colorful things...  flowers, i remember them, never seen but remember.
Only thing that I know that mercenaries life is hard... you should always gamble, never sure in next day. Not sure how long you gonna survive, in some periods of life you can have pockets full of shiny coins or starve for weeks. You can live long life with enough luck or with lack of that and be betrayed and killed by peoples whom you believed more than anyone else or you should not believe in luck and betray them first. But even if you lucky enough you always should gamble cause no one likes mercenaries. That's why I'm here where I'm.
I walked through the arc of gates (gates and wall around town was wooden and not very high to provide good defense if absolute chaos that consumed all world gonna reach this place). Group of guards that stayed in gates looked really pathetic: dirty uniform that does not fit their size, old rusty weapons, and eyes their eyes spoke of the situation better than everything else. I've seen that eyes earlier and not once... eyes full of fear and doom.
One of them stepped forward: "Your name and reasons for visiting our town" he asked cautiously.
I grinned " Arinian. It's not reason why I'm here but my name. And reason why I'm here is obvious. Do you know other towns between Fadrex City and Luthadel that still was not destroyed. I don't know."
Guards eyes widely open in horror "But there atleast was three more towns between..."
"Oh you don't know they all destroyed by army of Koloss." I said.
He turned and looked in town "I... I must report to the mayor."
"Hey, wait. So I can go in town?" I asked.
"Yes, yes," his eyes lingered on the sword on my belt. "Just don't kill someone."
And here I'm in this beautiful town.

Also I will just write how my character looks and what he wears because I did not mention this in my RP:
Long dark hair, dark green eyes, high but not too high, pale skin, well-knit, have scar that runs from the corner of right eye to the chin.
Wears: dirty brown leather jacket (two knives in pockets in it), long straight sword, dark trousers, black leather boots, gray shirt that once been white.

(And I hope that atleast part of what I'm wrote is understandable :D)

Hello, this will also be my second game, but whatever. Anyway, I am playing Mr. Hoid, the Joker, who is often Forgetful, and has Prophetic visions. This is pushing it a bit, but will be a most interesting character. (I figure this first part is my joke) :D

"I have seen the end of the world! It will end . . . you all shall die!"
