Zea mays
Is Bleeder trying to tell Wax something he doesn't yet realize about his familiar relationships? Why such emphasis on the back-story with uncle and the coin and everything? If it turns out that uncle Edwarn is actually (search your feelings Wax, you know it to be true) our hero's biological father, well, that would be the untwistiest plot twist ever. The narrative equivalent of a precision straight line. I wonder how Mr. Sanderson can re-bend this one.
TwelfthOfSnackTime
When Bleeder said this particular line she wasn't referring to his father or future father-in-law or even uncledaddy. He meant the Survivorist priest that she nailed to the wall. Edit: I believe that it was inferred that this was the priest wax and Steris picked out to officiate their wedding ceremony. natc
Yeah, that's where I recognized the name Bin from! The wedding discussion . . . *slaps self for forgetfulness*
IAmTheBeard
While plot-wise, that makes the use of "I haven't even murdered your father yet" perfectly reasonable, from a literary standpoint, Zea mays still has a solid point.
DSC01
Totally threw me for a loop, too. I don't think there's a double double-cross here, though. When it turns out that Paalm was talking about the priest, I'm pretty sure that's all it meant.
teknopathetic
she wouldnt say "your father" meaning a priest. Wax is a pathian. The priest is not his spiritual father.
natc
He IS the one doing him and Steris' wedding though. Whether or not it matters to someone doesn't change the fact that he's a priest, you know.
