Young Bard
I'm working on a 'History of the Cosmere' page on the Coppermind. I still need to flesh out the details in each one, and create some sort of Universal Cosmere Calendar to compare dates, but I think I have all the main events I need. Can someone confirm/ deny this? Also, I thought the Everstorm was just the starting point for the true desolation, but they seem to be registered as the same thing. Can someone tell me whether it's the Coppermind or my memory that's wrong? So, here it is. PLEASE NOTE: THIS HAS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SEVERAL COSMERE NOVELS. History of the Cosmere Thanks, TheYoungBard
Arook
I would say that the Everstorm is both but at the same time the true desolation is much more than just the Everstorm. The Everstorm runs through the true desolation but is not the whole of it. Both the ever storm and the true desolation have the same starting point but are not technically the same thing you could have a Start of the Everstorm page then a True desolation page. though i think a Start of the Everstorm and The true desolation or Just the Start of the true desolation would make more sense. A true desolation page is really just a place holder only its start is significant for the histories because many other events will take place during the true desolation
Chaos
My goal with the cosmere rewrite was to include a history of the cosmere. It focuses more on the Shardy stuff, as I feel like individual planet histories can be on the individual planet and there is not a need for it to be on the cosmere page. So... I kind of already did this? xD I avoided Roshar stuff as its early history is very vague and warped by time. Once we know more, it will look much more like the Scadrial sections.
Young Bard
They still could sort of be compatible. Yours focuses on general eras for the most part, while mine seems to have a lot more attention in specific events. It still could be labelled as a timeline or something similar, and I'll work on it from that point. I think it could help, because I've always had some confusion in my head about where the various world's timelines sit with each other, and I'm sure others have too. I'll work on it for a while and see how that goes. If it doesn't work, I'll delete the page.
Windrunner
I think what Eric is saying is that, for the most part, the Cosmere article already goes as in-depth as we feel any overview of the total cosmere history needs to go. In addition to that, we don't really know exactly how all the events fit relative to one another. We know generally when the books themselves sit in the timeline. But specific years, as well as how past events fit together (First Returned relative to the Last Desolation, etc) are still unknown at this time. Also, we don't even know what the relative year lengths are from planet to planet, so a comprehensive timeline of all cosmere events literally cannot be built, right now. By all means, continue writing your article, I don't wish to discourage you at all. But, right now I'm not sure exactly where it would fit in with the current articles we have. But even if it ends up just being for your own reference, feel free to leave it on the wiki. A lot of people use userpages to keep track of their own stuff even if they don't intend to put it on the wiki.
