However a tumblr user ran into him during his recent/current trip to Disneyland and he purportedly revealed that the release has been moved up to February. Now keep in mind that this is a second-hand report so we don't have direct confirmation from Brandon or the publisher. So what do people think about this, possible, change of events? I find it potentially quite interesting as originally I had thought there would be three months between Calamity and Bands of Mourning, like there is between Bands of Mourning and Shadows of Self. And to stay on topic: The release being only one month apart from Bands of Mourning doesn't surprise me too much, as they are two different publishers, yes? At least the astronomical start date (though that system does have some weirdness in that "midsummer's day" and "midwinter's day" are actually the first day of those seasons...). And I'm taking steps now to get us as much production time as we can get for Stormlight 3, but there's only so much I can do. Bands of Mourning is already shaping up to require a similar rush at the end, unfortunately! And I'm not that hopeful about Calamity production either... I imagine that simply means that, for whatever release date they have planned, they are pretty full with work to do. So I'd hope for February but expect "Spring". (Though occasionally a book will slide a week or so in one direction or another for various reasons.) We got cover proofs in last week, and it's shiny. It will be publicly announced pretty soon, I believe. I personally have a lot of work to do on the book between now and July 24th. It's just a bit stressful because I have so many things to work on at the same time—Shadows of Self and Elantris proofreads are due Monday, and Bands of Mourning line edits could come in at any moment. Alcatraz 5 line edits already came in and I have to squeeze those in too when I can find time. The Calamity beta read is happening now.
