Vin doesn't seem like the type to just sit down and talk to some random noble, even if said noble is J.R.R. Tolkien in disguise. Soother, maybe? During his conversation with Vin he didn't seem scared at all. He could be Mistborn. That would be awesome. If he is Hoid then he could just Lightweave the Slowswift disguise. Sowswift is a mystery. I was prepared to just wrte it off as "Mistborn need not make sense", but it would be kind of cool if there were some other fantasy author cameos in books.
