Question 2

A continuation of the first Question thread (link to first thread to come).

For those curious about and new to the Oregon RP, this is a place to plan, ask questions, seek GM approval on characters, tell jokes, post pictures of ponies, and any variation of the above. You do not need to read every page of this thread to join. If this one ends up like the last one, it will probably be mostly ponies and jokes. If you want to join, skip to the last page and ask. Do not feel obligated to read every single page of the planning thread. Seriously. If there's an important conversation here, we will link you to it or give you a summary. We want you to join; we don't want to give you a ton of homework.

For current players, good work. We've posted so many ponies and jokes that we had to expand. Keep it up. :D

Long live the Oregon RP, and long may we ponify all that is in it. :D

The Question was not answered in Part 1, will it be answered in Part 2? Stay tuned to find out.

If the question was "Will there be ponies?" Then the answer is yes. So much yes.

Edit: And I have arrived at a solution to the problem of Scorch's funeral--namely, that no one liked him enough to attend.

The little church was packed that day, more crowded than it had been in years. From the sea of people spilling out the door into the yard, and the black attire they wore, an onlooker might assume the gathering to be a funeral for a well-known and exceptionally well-liked figure.

The onlooker would be correct on one count: It was a funeral.

The deceased in question was called Scorch, for the last few years of his life. Those who knew him were not in attendance, especially his erstwhile allies, Flashpoint and Altermind. Not even CorpseMaker, his murderer, had arrived to gloat. CorpseMaker was a busy man, and he hadn't the time to gloat over trash.

Chicago Joe was not a busy man.

He didn't care about Scorch, having never made his acquaintance. But he did care that the fella had no one to attend his funeral. The thought of his body lying in a coffin for no one to mourn filled Joe with a sorrow he couldn't place. So he had taken a swig of whiskey, wiped his lips, and announced he would be at the funeral to the crowd of women that always seemed to follow him.

The women had changed into funeral attire with remarkable speed.

"Who are we mourning again?" one of the women asked.

Chicago Joe took another swig of whiskey. "Some fella named Scorch."

"Scorch? I hate that guy!"

Other women chimed in with their agreement.

"I'm not staying for him!"

"If you ain't staying, I ain't staying. Guy needs somebody at his funeral."

"Wait. You're...you're leaving us?"

He took another swig. "Might be, if you ladies're gonna leave some poor sucker at an empty funeral."

The woman began to cry, and as the threat was passed around, so were the tears.

Hmm, would it be against the RP Ratings of the site to send Scorch's head to Altermind?

I vote that this happens. It would give a reason for Altermind to learn that Scorch is dead and it fits with what CorpseMaker would do. It would be a great scene that would up the drama. As long as it's not overly graphic, I don't think it would be banned. The violence limits on this forum aren't very strict. So I say that we do this.

If that Traveller guy posts "I'm dating an insane Epic and another one just figured out I'm not an Epic HALP MEEEEEE," I am going to laugh so hard. And then I'll help the poor guy. :P

I seriously adore that Murphy pony. :D

I seriously want to PM Traveller and say "Don't worry about Altermind or the necromancer. Your secret is safe with me. ; )"      :P

Thanks. :) Am I the only one who thinks of ponies instead of people when I read Oregon posts? :P

I think I'll friend him too. Just cuz. And no, I didn't make that profile. Like Mailliw said, I would've added some major trolling. Like a poem that's really an acrostic spelling out HELP ME NOW.

I do sometimes.

...Do you think someone should send him a PM with the link to this thread? He's probably confused about why a bunch of ponies are friending him before he's even posted. :P

I find that the ponies do affect the way I envision the characters. For instance, it's pretty much my headcanon now that CorpseMaker rocks a sweet brown turtleneck, when I only gave him one in the latest comic because I couldn't find a new cutie mark for him. :P

Might be a good idea. With a note saying, "TwiLyght knows every Epic's weakness. PM her for further instructions, and stay close to Remington Springfield." :P

....which would be awkward if he's never read Steelheart.

Still, it might help with the confusion. ;)

What did you say and has he responded yet?

No response yet--here's what I said, in a conversation titled "Ahoy There."

Hello there! First off, allow me to welcome you to the forum. It's unconventional to welcome members who have yet to formally introduce themselves, but in this case, you've inadvertently drawn attention to yourself.  :)

To cut a long story short, "Traveller" is the name of a major character in a popular forum RP. Someone on this thread noticed that a new person had signed up under the same name, and several players from the RP lined up to friend you right away.

So rest assured that no one is stalking you--we're just an excitable bunch who are glad to see a familiar name pop up.  :) If you feel inclined to post here, I look forward to getting to know you as a member!
