  1. I’m just curious, is there any actual evidence in support of the idea that Hoid is able to travel through time as opposed to merely being immortal? I’ve heard several times that Hoid is speculated to be a time traveler, and the fact that his character has evolved into something clearly at least superficially based on the Doctor or another Time Lord would seem to give it plausibility, but is there any actual canonical evidence for or against the idea? Off the top of my head the only thing that might possibly be construed as evidence for it is that in Words of Radiance when Hoid is posing as the coachman, when Shallan recognizes him and thanks and hugs him for his helping her a couple years previously, he seems entirely baffled as to who she is. Almost like he hadn’t yet done it from his timeline. Obviously there are many other interpretations of this, but regardless, is the whole ‘Hoid is a Time Lord’ thing purely a matter of speculation at this point, or has Brandon actually hinted that it might have some validity to it beyond him being based at least superficially on the Doctor?
  2. From what I understand, there is no ceiling for how fast an attribute can be tapped. Because of this, some very interesting things can happen. Steel feruchemy stores speed. if one were able to store enough speed and tap it fast enough, they could, theoretically, go faster than the speed of light. As of yet, it is unknown what would happen if this was broken, but I know if a few theories: Time travel and leaving the universe(parallel universe) Storing enough speed to do this would be incredibly difficult, as feruchemical attributes give diminishing returns the faster it is tapped. A solution to this would be to have a bunch of unkeyed steelminds filled by a lot of people and then used really quickly by one person What do you people of the 17th shard think?
  3. Common conversation started/ forum game: If you could go back to anytime in the past and ask one person one question what would it be. For an example I would probably go back and ask Nikola Tesla about supposed unlimited energy. or maybe I would go and ask Da vinci where he hid some of his journals, that's a good get rich quick scheme.
  4. A bit far fetched here and I'm probably reading too much into it.. also, not sure how to mark a spoiler here yet so beware below if you haven't read WOR: do you think that perhaps wit didn't meet shallan until she hugged him in the war camps? he just seemed so off guard then, and when he first saw her as a child he was surprised to see her. think there's any chance that is because he had met her in her future for the first time and was surprised to see her there as a child? maybe that's how he knew to evoke lightweaving out of her in particular. again, I know this is far fetched. just a thought.
