Today we have a special episode of Shardkeepers, our analysis podcast, where we are talking solely about Oathbringer predictions. Strap yourself in: this one's a long podcast, but you know what, Oathbringer is a massive tome by itself. We recorded this a long time ago, prior to all the sample chapters and the beta read, so we know no special information. A few of us did see the first Dalinar flashback, but that's it. Obviously, there are Stormlight spoilers for Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, and also Edgedancer, and some minor mentions of other books. We have a little different crew this time. We have Ian and Eric, and joining us is Alyx of Splintercast fame (and notorious Renarin-lover, of course), as well and Josh and Mi'chelle, the founders of the site. Also joining us is the periodic meows of Alyx's cat, Dalish, that the mic did pick up. And you know what the best part of this podcast is? With Part One of Oathbringer coming out Tuesdays, you'll probably get to laugh at how silly our predictions are right now!
We said there would be a December episode, and here we are on New Year's Eve with one! This month we have an extra long episode as well: over an hour and twenty minutes digging through the Arcanum Unbounded essays and picking apart everything in them. Shockingly, we were more than able to talk about these for a very long time. We dig through each of Khriss's essays. I feel we could have even talked longer, but I'm sure we will mention them a lot in the future. We also learn that I can't pronounce at least a thing, and Ian proves me wrong (fine, you win this time), showing he is probably the most competent one here. Let us know what you think in our forum thread: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/57421-shardkeepers-podcast-arcanum-unbounded-essays/ And if you hadn't seen it, the Star Chart. Our Hosts: Kerry (KChan), Ian (WeiryWriter), David (Windrunner), and Eric (Chaos)
Welcome to the brand-new Shardkeepers Podcast! No, it's not where keep all the shards of glass to ourselves (still, you can't have them, they are our weapons), it's where we, the Sharders, are also the Keepers of knowledge. Like that Terris order, we're here to edjumacate you about... stuff. Or something. I'm not doing a very good job of selling this one. Let's try again. Welcome to Shardkeepers, our theory podcast. If you want theories on the cosmere, you've come to the right place. If you don't want theories, well, you can go, but watch for the shattered glass on the way out. We have Kerry (KChan), David (Windrunner), me, and some other guy! Oh wait, that's Josh (Rubix), not just a talking head. Oops! My mistake! (Sorry Josh, we love you!) Together, we form a theorytastic Voltron which is missing a head, because, hey, you need five for a Voltron. So we're headless, but you know, we have to keep up the Shardcast tradition. On our inaugural episode, we're going to do things a bit differently. We want each episode to tackle a specific theory, topic, or problem, and we will set out to (possibly) solve that problem. But, there's been just so many signings with the A Memory of Light tour, our forum Q&A, and the recent AMA on Reddit that we have to talk about it. But we aren't going to simply read you quotes, there is a ton of theorizing going on. We discuss open some doors to the Dor (that pun will never get old) and finally have a coherent theory about what it is, how the Letter's author is pretty much confirmed, and some excellent Odium stuff. Listen on how Josh will surely get flamed, as well as Shashara's "sister". And how I was totally caw-blocked at the end of the podcast. Obviously, there will be cosmere spoilers for pretty much... everything. Mistborn, Way of Kings, Elantris. This is the ultra-theoretical podcast, so you should expect that. Click here for a Google doc of our quotes we were using for the podcast. By the way, the main Shardcast will still happen, don't worry!
