Here's some of the maps I've drawn, some of then have stories, others have no worldbuilding. Here's the first one. It isn't quite finished yet, but I plan on coloring it. There is little to no worldbuilding, but it clearly has a tale to tell. Here's another with lots of worldbuilding. And here's another with a decent amount of worldbuilding.

Ok so this is a thread were we can put our maps (real and fake) that we have drawn or found cool (credit must be given) and get critiques or to let people see cool stuff. This might need to go in Creator's Corner please tell me if it should. I will edit in my maps later

Hello! I've been remaking some of the maps from the Stormlight Archive books the past few weeks and posting them to Reddit. People there seemed to like them, and suggested that I also post them here so that others can see them as well. So here I am, doing just that. So far I've adapted 3 of the maps in the series into my own style. The main Roshar map, a map of Shadesmar, and most recently a map of Alethkar. All 3 of them were a lot of fun to make and turned out really well. I've received some interest in people buying prints of these, but I'm unsure how to go about requesting permission to print these out and sell them, and don't want to step on any toes. If anyone knows a bit about how I'd contact Brandon or Dragonsteel Entertainment to request permission, I'd really appreciate it. And while it's a long shot, I'd also love to ask them what they think about including one of these in their 10th Anniversary editions of Way of Kings or Words of Radiance. (I think the images might have been compressed when I uploaded them, so here they are in my Google Drive, uncompressed: Alethkar: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1plOlOIFv8d-B0kM9CrJO_Vs7cimGMhEZ/view?usp=drivesdk Roshar: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10RAxGyBKuFX_xiagJ6YIDXDPofrL4N-I/view?usp=drivesdk Shadesmar: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Tx_WcUFkjveL0B3QXfhQtHF18mU3HhgD/view?usp=drivesdk

Because for one thing, you actually understand what I meant by my title In all seriousness, I really am excited to be here with so many others who share my love for Sanderson's writing and the worlds he has created. Though I have been aware of his work for years, I am admittedly a bit late to the party. Though I had been aware of his work nearly from the beginning, it wasn't until last year that I got around to finally reading Mistborn. And frankly, it reignited my love for a genre that had grown a bit stale for me. Needless to say I burned through the first Mistborn trilogy, The Stormlight Archives, Elantris, Skyward, and several of his short stories since that time. And I would also credit his writing with getting me back into the art of cartography as I started to pour over his maps and want to recreate them myself. I look forward to discussing the books with you guys, and hearing some of your theories and insights. - Josh

From where are we seeing the Arcanum Unbounded constellations?
I Am Witless posted a question in Cosmere Q&A
Forgive me if someone has already asked this, but a quick search didn't bring it up, so I though I would ask it. From what planet are we viewing the cosmere on the inside cover of Arcanum Unbounded? We can see the worlds of Threnody, Taldain, Scadrial, Roshal, Sel, Nalthis, First of the Sun, and even The Scar, but whose planet are we seeing these from? I was showing my friend the map, and she dropped the question, and it blew my mind. Is there another post I can refer to? Thanks!- 11 replies

This might better fit in Theory, but as the book just got released, I figure this is a safer place to put it to avoid spoilers. I was looking at the map and thinking about it. We have a sun-like deity at the top and center with flaming hair and the symbol of a sun. Willing to bet this is Autonomy/ Bavadin. Note that the same symbol of the sun appears in the centre of the map at KraeDa, A sacred site and the space where the fertile lands radiate southward from.I'd be willing to bet that's where we'll find the perpendicularity. As Taldain is tidally locked, the centre of the Dayside continent is always pointed at the sun. Which is worshipped as a god. How far does a perpendicularity reach? All the way to the star? Or perhaps the reverse? All the way from the star? EDIT: Fixed Title

For the main Diaemus Project thread, see here. Greetings, residents of Diaemus. This is where you can come to select your lands to rule over (and later, where you'll tell me what empires, cities and land features you have in your allotted space). This is the map of Diaemus, as created by Sir Jerric, and up to date as of 1 October 2015. (Coming Soon!) Now, because I have no sense of beauty whatsoever, I decided to scrawl right over the top of what Sir Jerric has done, crudely carving out the sections that people wanted for them. This is the most up to date version of mine. So, if you would like to claim a piece, this is the place to ask.

The hype train is going up to full speed. Shadows of Self comes out tomorrow, but today, Brandon posted a huge blog about the Elantris Anniversary editions, which also comes out tomorrow and are definitely not something for you to forget about tomorrow. This new version of Elantris is now the canonical version, fixing some continuity errors. The physical edition will be North American only for now. It's hardcover first, and the paperback will come to this edition later, in a year or so. Ebooks will update to this text (with iBooks, automatically). In the UK, the text will be there soon. But, of course, what's in the new Elantris? I'll let Brandon explain: So if you are in the mind of "eh, I don't want to reread Elantris," as some people are in the house I'm currently in (I'm currently hanging out with other 17S staff for the Shadows release tonight), fear not. The book is basically the same, but the new maps, and new stuff in the appendix and front are what you want. We'll discuss the maps in a moment, but first, we need to talk about the Elantris Leatherbound Edition, which has been teased on Twitter a bit, and now Brandon has revealed most of the details. He also goes on to say that we'll be able to get this from Brandon's store, or bookstores on tour, but probably not the average Barnes & Noble or Amazon. Now we have to talk about the maps, since they are conveniently all posted for our perusal. They are all in color, but I imagine in the physical Elantris Anniversary Edition, it will be grayscale (like in Alloy). I imagine they will be in color in the leatherbound. But guys. These are super cool. Let's go through each of these, with some brief comments. They all look fantastic. Great job, Isaac! Check them out: For full discussion on the maps, go here!

The new Elantris maps are here, guys, as revealed in Brandon's blog post today. Oh, Nazh. Also: Rose Barbarians. This map also explains why the Syclans don't go further south; there's a giant desert! Well this one is just a bit on the nose. It's awesome, though. Maybe this is the Coppermind editor in me coming out, but ahhhh the plantations are all on the map. Don't judge me. Also, jeez, Elantris is way near the mountains. Obviously it needs to be, but it's still strange to see on the map. What do you think? I am a little rushed, as I need to pick up Joe and Kalyna from the airport about now. Let me know!

Have we found the easter egg which is supposedly encoded into the map of Roshar? I ask because at first glance it seems like the mirroring of Roshar and Shadesmar, but that's explicitly noticed in the text, and seems like an inviolate rule of how Shadesmar works. It bears a slight resemblance to the world of Monty Oum's RWBY, whose map was developed with some sprayed condiments on a airplane napkin, but that seems unlikely. Anyone else possibly figure it out?

With the help of Aether, Lord of Lists™, I've plotted the locations of the 17th Sharders as best I can based on the locations provided in the Master List of Origins™. Those who have posted their locations in that thread will automagically be plotted in the map. You may find a link to the Nationality Thread here. So as not to clutter Lord Aether's thread with Move-My-Pin requests, I've created this topic for those who want the pins to be closer to their actual locations. You may either post it here or PM me. I originally set the map to be available for everyone to tag their locations, but have since revised the sharing rights for purposes of uniformity. The pins are colored based on Gender. Blue for Males, Pink for Females and Green for Not Telling. Chaos has a special Lightning Pin, because, well, he's who he is. This is a work in progress and profile pictures will get linked in the next couple of days. If you wish your pin to be removed, just post here and the pin will be removed within 24 hours. Here is a link to the map and a snapshot of the current global distribution. Map of 17th Sharders

I wasn't sure if someone had done this already (as I looked through the forums and couldn't find anything), but I used Harakeke's handy list of Alethi glyphs taken from Thaylenah symbols (found here: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6487-thaylen-and-alethi-glyph-translation/page-3) and used them to translate part of one of Nazh's maps from Words of Radiance. Unfortunately, it offered nothing especially insightful in this case (but maybe on a later Stormlight Archive illustration). There were a few things I didn't know how to translate, though. For example, the two words near the top left look like lth kr, but I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. The word on the banner near the bottom right looks like rthrn. The words next to the blue castle look like zttrd flns, and the blue word that shows up a few times in the water next to "danger" looks like zfwrkt. Does anyone have an idea? I think the symbol for z might be wrong, but if it happens to be, I don't know what it's supposed to be. *Harakeke also noted that the compass rose says "Urithiru" on it.
