  1. Hello! So, I'm back again with another hairbraned theory with little to no evidence to back it up. But, it sure would be cool if it were true. At the very end of the Ars Arcanum of RoW, we get an interesting quote about an entity named Foil that lives in an ocean and wants control of the aethers. When RoW came out, the identity of this being was unknown. Then Tress was released and we got introduced to a fun dragon named Xisis. Xisis lives at the bottom of the Crimson sea and studies, you guessed it, the aethers. This implies that they're the same. This is only circumstantial evidence, of course, but it seems to me like a pretty strong connection. A quick search of Coppermind and Arcanum didn't reveal anything, so I'm asking for thoughts. Do you think that Foil and Xisis are the same? Is there any evidence I've overlooked? Please tell me your point of view.
  2. Hey guys, I've been gone for a bit but with Graphic Audio releasing version 1.5 of White Sand (I'll explain that in a moment ) and me getting my tax return, I decided to grab them. So first off: Version 1.5. This may confuse some people but this is just the number I've decided to use between Brandon's Draft of White Sand and what we got in the Graphic Novel. On the page for the first Volume of the GA version of White Sand it confirms that a lot was cut in order to make the GN, whether this stuff is still canon or not someone should definitely ask Brandon one day. The Script used in the Graphic Audio version IS the original edited script for the Graphic Novel before things started having to be chopped. I decided to record some of the difference just to see how different they are. Now for the Differences, I'll try and be thorough but I probably will end up missing some things here and there. Volume 1: Kenton is shown running the whole gauntlet from beginning to end instead of picking up around the forth sphere. Unlike the Graphic Novel which makes it very hard to tell there are indeed both men and women in the Diem and they comment about Kenton throughout his trial. Khriss's story begin with her on the ship from Darkside and seeing the sun and port for the first time. We get to see some of the hostility between Baon and the soldiers due to Boan being in charge. Most of the Ceremony is the same for Kenton's sash, with the exception that after he blacks out, we cut to Khriss and company attempting to buy supplies in port as well as a guide. They discover that the language they'd been taught as Daysider is the Holy Language of the Priests. The Story matches up quite well from here up to the ambush after the marketplace. The assassin's attack and Baon's acquires one of their casters. Kenton then explains how it works to him. Before they reach the city, We see that the area around it is very lush with life surprising Khriss. Then the story switches to our favorite, Ais, who is planning to raid to capture Sherizane or their conspirators. It switches to Lokmlen who is trying to persuade his cohorts into a job. He's wanting to sneak into the Diem and steal what's there since the Sand Masters are no more. After get the others to agree, Ais and her team, with expert timing, enter and their operation. Lokmlen escapes much to Ais annoyance. The back wall then opens up and a kill squad begins to pick off the tracts. Ais rushes the wall and grabbing the arm of the of men, then proceeds to use him as a battering ram to bring down the wall. She then picks off the shocked men and takes off after Lokmlen. The GN picks up with their chase and is completely the same except for one small detail: Aarik has sheath not a sword, as he had thrown the sword away years ago. Speaking of Airik, his introduction is actually a bit different in the GA version. We meet him on a boat heading towards Kezare to mourn his friend Kenton, whom he believes was killed. He talks to himself and the Gondolier driver questions whether he should have ferried him. From here the graphic novel and Graphic audio play continue the same, right up til Kenton reaches the diem, which is confirmed to be on it's own little island seperated from the rest of Kezare. Kenton enters the Diem and spends a good while searching. Every room that he could reached, screaming at the top of his lungs before he collapses at the entrances and Dirin Finds him. Things continue the same until we reach the Judgement hall. Where we see our musician friend for the first time, singing about the current situation to no one in particular. It is noted that he has long hair similiar to Aarik and that he reminds Kenton of him. The only other remarkable difference is that Ais has a bad habit of Digging her nails into her skin as a skin of frustration which is shown in the GN version, but is very hard to pick out. The rest of the volume is the same with Kenton fighting it out with Drile, Aarik Arriving at the Diem, and Khriss paying N'teese, going to meet people and eventually learning that Kenton is a Sand Master which she is none too happy about
  3. From the album: Other Cosmere Art

Cosmere Modern AU: Kelsier, Hoid, Sazed, Khriss, Frost This is a new year piece for the fandom so I could use some wild imagination to draw some impossible scene! (Can't wait for Mistborn Era 3~4!) Alternative version I Alternative version II This comes from some dumb anime joke. Someone took it to make their play mat ("I really want others to see those nerds!") and I'm curious about the final product XD
  4. I searched for others discussing this, but didn't come across anything. If you know of a thread that already brought this up and I missed it, just let me know the source and I'll gladly remove my post. I've read every story in the Cosmere and am now going back and re-reading in hopes of discovering knew things I missed or couldn't have known the first time through. This is a minor discovery IF it's true, but interesting none the less. First, I believe that Vathi from Sixth of the Dusk is Khriss (just found out this has been confirmed as false)... BUT I also believe that she may be an allomancer. Keep in mind that SotD is the farthest story into the future according to the known Cosmere timeline... so who knows what has happened to Khriss between now and then. Here's an excerpt from Sixth of the Dusk: So the part that struck me as a dead giveaway was the very last line, "...or was she just lucky?" If you remember in The Final Empire, Vin would always refer to her allomantic ability as her 'luck'. When I read this, I felt as if Sanderson purposefully wrote that line in order to hint at the fact that Vathi/Khriss was using her 'luck'... in this specific case, tin. I don't know if she's just a Misting or if she becomes a Mistborn as some point, but regardless, I believe she's burning tin in SotD. What do you think? Am I a far out fanboy looking for connections where there are none, or do you think I picked up on a clever nod from Sanderson?

    Dragonsteel Con AU II

From the album: Other Cosmere Art

Happy Lunar New Year 2022! The celebratory art is a continuation of the former DS con AU, featuring Shallan/Hoid/Nazh/Kelsier/Shai/Khriss!
  6. Botanica

    Dragonsteel-Con AU

From the album: Other Cosmere Art

Featuring Khriss, Kelsier, Hoid, Shallan, Nazh & Shai. So here is a bunch of Cosmere nerds I imagine would love to attend DS Con XD
  7. Mistborn Monday art: Study Buddies! Khriss and Kelsier study hemalurgy together. Thanks to @LewsTherinTelescope who reminded me of this old headcannon which inspired me to draw it. I headcannon these two as occasional research partners - which has led to the amusing result of some unaware Silverlight Students thinking Kelsier is a reclusive scholar (as Khriss ensures he is given due credit on their papers). The students are always shocked to learn what he’s really up to... Incidentally, the book with the ‘Woman’s Script’* is Rhythm of War - the in-world one. Yes, Kelsier has a copy. The books with dots are written in the Artisan’s Script. And yes, that is a book about Nightblood. Yes, you should be concerned about Kelsier having access to that information. The science experiment with two balls connected by a tube is real, btw. My grandfather made it years ago, so this is a little tribute to him. That thing was our family’s go-to science fair submission for years. Don’t try making it home though! The glass is pressure sensitive and the stuff inside is very questionably legal (and possibly explosive?) (*Neither the Woman’s Script nor the Steel Alphabet nor the Aonic uses actual letters from the scripts. This is because I want to sell this print which I can’t do if I used real letters. So what you see is an impression of the letters, but not real letters.)
  8. Finished! Nine characters from eight Shardworlds! From left to right: Dusk from First of the Sun / Kaladin from Roshar / Vasher from Nalthis / Hoid from Yolen / Harmony (Sazed) / Khriss from Taldain / Shai from Sel / Vin from Scadrial / Silence from Threnody This piece is also celebratory art! Happy Chinese New Year 2016 (Year of the monkey)! At first I drew these characters mainly for an online fantasy magazine because they kind of let me (as translator of WoR) introduce Stormlight and the whole Cosmere series in their New Year issue, which meant I’d better add some festival stuff. So here it is - Characters from eight different Shardworlds wishing you a Happy New Year! In China, this is a popular traditional gesture when people give New Year’s greetings. It’s called 作揖 (zuò yī, in spoken language: zuō yī). When you do this, you make a bow with hands folded in front of you and greet others at the same time. Raise your folded hands and then lower them. The motion can be repeated several times. For men, they should use their left hand to cover their right hand (In ancient China, men tended to hold weapon with their right hand, so they covered it when saluting, to reduce hostility and show respect.), while for women, they should do it otherwise and it’s better not to clench the left hand into a fist (You can learn this from the picture above.). If you do it wrong, you will convey some ominous meaning. Please be careful # # # Heck, so many tags! Also seriously, I think we may need a Cosmere crossover art album
  9. So khriss mentions a magic system with that no. Which is it tho ? Is it the aethers ? Are we getting a newly refurbished Aether of night series or has that idea been trashed by Brandon ?
  10. Casta

    Khriss

Not satisfied enough, but I will probably never finish this. An attempt to portrait Khrissalla. I don't like the hat. Please don't look at the hat.
  11. In a cosmere version of Taylor Swift's Shake It Off, I present Khriss singing Nazrilof (I've spoilered one stanza that deals with Secret History) Nazrilof You say you’re not that tough Complain you’ve got it rough But we don’t have enough, mmm-mmm We still don’t have enough, mmm-mmm No need to act so gruff Just one more list of stuff We still don’t have enough, mmm-mmm No we don’t have enough, mmm-mmm You just keep collecting, searching and detecting. I’m sure you can do it! I’ll be here, There’s so much left for me to write! ‘Cause mistings gonna burn (burn, burn, burn, burn) And god-kings will Return (-turn, -turn, -turn, -turn) There’s so much still to learn (learn, learn, learn, learn) Nazrilof! Nazrilof! Ferrings have metalminds (minds, minds, minds, minds) While Radiants surgebind (bind, bind, bind, bind) I feel so far behind (-hind, -hind, -hind, -hind) Nazrilof! Nazrilof! Your map of Luthadel Was annotated well! Do one of Fjordell, mmm-mmm And then these other twelve, mmm-mmm Just keep collecting, searching and detecting. I’m sure you can do it! I’ll be here, There’s so much still I have to write! Awakening takes Breath (breath, breath, breath, breath) Shades linger after death (death, death, death, death) So many facts still left (left, left, left, left) Nazrilof! Narilof! And that fella over there with the shocking white hair Couldn’t tell you near as much about Arcana. Nazrilof! Nazrilof! [repeats]
  12. How old is Khriss during all of the books? And do worldhoppers age slower or something, because she is in secret history, era 2, stormlight, and of course white sand which must have come first. My guess is at least 230 years old during Stormlight.
  13. Does Gevin actually loved Khriss? He mentioned that she deserves better lover
  14. So Khriss… We know that she is native to Taildan, and that she is a major worldhopper. But Who Is She? What happens after the cliff hanger in White Sand 2? What is her position in Silverlight? And which systems has she been to? For that matter, who is Nazh?
  15. I have looked in many places for an answer to this question but haven't found it so I'll ask it myself. We know that Taldain is currently unaccessable: Questioner This is about certain people from Nalthis... living on Roshar and how they are living on Roshar. Could they also do that on Scadrial? Brandon Sanderson Scadrial would be a lot harder because getting the Investiture out of things on Scadrial is tough, there are ways you could do it but it would be much more difficult. Questioner Does that have to do with the Investiture being more directed? Brandon Sanderson Yeah, it's more the genetic component is a big part of it. The directed component-- In Roshar its just flowing around all over the place. For instance, if he could get to a Shardpool he could feed off that, but then he's at the Shardpool and that's kind of dangerous and things. Roshar is really the easiest place in the cosmere for him to consistently get this sort of stuff. Taldain would not be bad either, that's the White Sand world but it is inaccessible currently in the cosmere Salt Lake ComicCon FanX 2016 (March 26, 2016) So how long has Taldain been inaccessible? And how did Khriss leave Taldain and become a worldhopper if it is supposedly inaccessible? I didn't think that perpendicularities could be one way, but I could be misinformed.
  16. Why are Darksiders dark-skinned? Since there is no sun it would make sense for them to be white, right? Same question but reversed for Daysiders.
  17. There is a Kenton Street in Luthadel. Khriss. What did you do to Kenton. My idea is that Kenton died, and that Khriss was there while Luthadel was built, then wrote down Kenton Street as a memorial to him. Thoughts?
  18. Botanica

    Khriss & Nazh

From the album: Cosmeme & Crossmere

Prompt is what Nazh wrote about during his mission in Words of Radiance: (Poor Nazh. Let's just give him a new coat XD)
  19. When Wax is at a fancy party (i forget which one specifically) he asks one of the ladies there to dance. She accepts, but then another lady (not much description, or name) sweeps in and asks him questions about his Twinborn abilities. She is never seen again. My intuition demands that this is khriss, one of the known Worldhoppers. Anyone else agree? Disagree?
  20. Hey all, just got through my second read through of Volume 2, and something caught my attention the second time through. Was this something they changed or am I simply mis-remembering something? Other than that has anyone caught sight of our favorite trickster? Last I heard the musician from the first volume was the best suspect and I didn't sense any new contenders this volume.
  21. In page 789 of the American Version, Hoid-as-Wit and Shallan are discussing the story of 'The Girl who Looked Up', with Hoid-as-Wit stating that "It's a story from long ago...things were different in that time." However, when Shallan creates the Illusion, he says "...it's not dark enough" (page 790), with the illusion "leaving them standing in the darkness of night, lit only by a frail set of stars." Hoid then goes on to say that people still had to live, even without light, living, farming and eating in the darkness, except for the one girl who wanted to find out the answers about the wall, and eventually climbing the wall to find that on the other side was "God's Light" (page 792), and that she sneaked up to the Light, and she brought it back with her. "To the other side. To the...to the land of shadows..." according to Shallan. This sounds very similar to the story of Khriss in White Sand, the ever inquisitive girl who goes from the Darkside to Dayside in her quest to find the Sand Masters, and to those who have read White Sand Prime, we know that she takes Sand back with her to Darkside at the end of the book. What d'y'all think? Am i clutching at straws here?
  22. This is 3 or 4 questions in one, so bear with me here. I'm sure someone else has noticed this, but I just started rereading WoR, and on the page that has sketches of Bridge Four's tattoos, there's a note that reads, "I had to spend hours watching bridgemen to sketch their stupid forehead glyphs so you could have them, my friend. I'm pretty sure this is how they were designed. -Nazh" So, Nazh is on Roshar during WoR. Do we know which character he is posing as/does he appear on screen? Also, why does Khriss(I'm assuming he's writing to Khriss, but correct me if I'm wrong) want to see the glyphs of Bridge Four? By these sketches, Nazh also seems to be fairly talented at art, is there any other Cosmere art we know of that's drawn by him?
  23. On page 207 of Bands of Mourning, a woman darker-skinned than most Terris and wearing braids intruded on Wax's dance with a Lady Demoux in New Seran. She was curious in the science behind a crasher's powers, and had statistics concerning the frequency of their birth. She also said, and I quote, "Infant mortality on Scadrial is not as bad as some regions, but still shockingly high." She seemed comfortable in a social setting, going so far as to lead in the dance steps. Now, does this or does this not seem like Khriss of Taldain? I apologize if there has already been a thread concerning this, I conducted a quick search but I didn't put all that much effort into it so I might have missed something. Thank you for your time.
  24. I was wondering whether Brandon has decided that all the information and stories about Taldain, Khriss and the Shard Autonomy and her isolationism will only be dealt with in graphic novel form because that would not be very effective would it? All this cosmere stuff I think would be much better explained in written form even if it is in a short novella as graphic novels tend to be on the action heavy side which would not be compatible with the sort of scholarly tone set by Khriss herself.
  25. This is a song from the viewpoint of Nazh, and also a tribute to Back to the Future. Tell me, Khrissy Where are we going this time? Is this Weathering Or Marabethia? All I wanted to do Was draw a map and sleep So take me away I don’t mind But you better promise me I’ll be back in time. Gotta get back in time! Don’t bet your future On one path in the map! Better remember Scadrians always Snap! Please don’t send me to Roshar! Don’t wanna be wet again! So take me away I don’t mind But you better promise me I’ll be back in time! Gotta get back in time! Gotta get back in time! Get me back in time! Gotta get back in time! Gotta get back in time! Get back, get back. (Get back, Khrissy.) Gotta get back in time! Gotta get back in time! Get back, get back.
