  1. Just a funny thought, then I got to thinking Brandon is Hoid. The collector of stories. The one that was there for the shattering but not one of the shards. Who, Travels to all the worlds and interjects as only an author would (kinda like the neverending story). Whether it is written into the books at some point or not, the two are connected for me now. What do you think? Or is it deeper, in all actuality is Brandon Sanderson really a worldhopper? That's why his books are so good. It's just history, not fantasy.
  2. I think Grandpa Smedry(aka-Leavenworth Smedry) is Kelsier in disguise! There is evidence. Such as similar personalities and always being late to everything! Anyone agree with me? Maybe Kell is even more powerful than we knew...

    Trell is Trell?

Since I’m terrible with forums, forgive me if there’s already something on this. My Trell Suspicions (I’ve also only read Sanderson’s Mistborn world books) So when I was rereading era 1, I was trying to look at all the religions Sazed mentions to see if Trell was there. (Note: Trell as in the guy Miles Hundredlives believes in) Yes, Sazed does mention him. It’s a religion that worships the stars and night. Could it be that Trell is real? He’s written in a lot in era 2. More than any other religion Sazed preached.....
  4. Conspiracy Theory: @Calderis and @Extesian aren't actually the good guys we all believe them to be. We all think they're so great because they have sooo many posts and so much rep and they seem so knowledgeable, whereas we've been being deceived this ENTIRE time. Actually, I don't know if deceived is the right word for it. After all Calderis always says how he doesn't understand why he gets so much rep and both Calderis and extesian have talked about how they are held on such a high pedestal when really, there are tons of people with more posts/rep/knowledge than them. So they admit it themselves. That they are fakes. What if good old Calderis and Extesian are actually being payed off by someone to perpetrate false information around the shard. Now they wouldn't do it in obvious ways most of the time, just in small subtle ways so that nobody even realizes until it is too late. Much like how ruin changed the writings slightly to influence the characters in mistborn. They are our ruin. They are the seventeenth shards entropy. And what if the person paying them off is none other than Brandon himself. Why do you think they're always sooo good at finding WoB's for everyone and how come sometimes they "could've sworn" there was a WOB about a certain topic that no one can ever find? They needed to use facts at first to gain respect and acknowledgement but now that they've made it to the top of the food chain they can more easily spread lies about the cosmere information we have to try and prevent more of groundbreaking accidental discoveries ruining Brandon's plot twists and surprises. They practically monitor this place 24/7 between the two of them. Calderis has said that he practically spends all day on the shard -- EVEN when he's at "work". And then while Calderis sleeps Extesian monitors. Maybe not always taking as much of a forward approach like Calderis but posting less often with more "facts" and "research" yet he still has around the same amount of rep anyway. In fact when this was brought up to them Calderis and extesian both mentioned how they have completely different techniques on how they operate on the shard. This would help their plot of espionage because even if a person dislikes calderis's methods they would probably appreciate Extesian's and vice versa. We think the enemies are only in the book pages but the real enemies are already standing with a knife to your throat thank you, and goodnight Disclaimer: i don't personally believe any of the claims or assumptions above and none of them are meant to harm or discredit any person in any way shape or form. It is not meant to offend or annoy either. Only for entertainment purposes (like most theories on here) Edit: @Calderis I don't think you're ready for this one: Conspiracy theory 2! I am Calderis incarnate and I have come to take my throne beside him! Okay, lets back up here. After all that is a bit of a dramatic statement. Which is why I will explain in explicit detail why it is correct. Firstly as our neighborhood Calderis pointed out to me earlier, our names are literally one letter away from being identical. It is a matter of vowels, whereas I have an o and he has an a. Next, would be the fact that neither of us feel worthy of gaining reputation. Like seriously guys, 13 rep? On this one post??? What even.... As Calderis has said he lurked a long long time before he started being active, but once he did start being active he rose through the ranks quickly. I didn't lurk for too long only a few months and when I did I would post every now and then but only rarely. Then sometimes between I think the beginning of the month and now I went from about 5 reputation to 74 and my post count which was barely 10 is now in the eighties. Amazing what such a short period of time can do, or at least it feels amazing to me. It probably isn't all too amazing in relation to people who gain that much rep on a daily basis. Which in saying that last sentence I'm proving how much I'm like him because he always says how he's nothing compared to some other people. Now, there is one distinct difference between me and Not Me. That being, Calderis has over 2k posts and I'm not even at a hundred. Compared to him I'm just a little shard baby. But then again, so was he at one point. So we're all of you, too. Everyone was. After all, you gotta start somewhere. But now what does this mean in context of the original conspiracy? Well this means that I'm likely a super-secret spy espionage dude in training to corrupt people's views of the cosmere and keep them from the truth. I guess we all have a side that we keep hidden. What's yours? Until next time, people of earth... OMG I DID A THING! IT HAS A HEART!!
  5. Now I Know What You're All Thinking Yet another new face to the 17th Shard, trying to make his way in the world by shoving foolhardy ideas out into it. And you would be right, for there is no better way to start than to have an idea shut down. How else would the next one come to fruition, after all? So bear with me, please, as I am naive and somewhat already addicted to this site (*pointedly avoids looking at the time*) So no matter what I'm told, no matter what Sanderson says, I am convinced that there is some connection between The Reckoners world/universe and that of the Cosmere. Don't worry, I am not stating that I believe it is WITHIN the Cosmere, but that there is some sort of connection. I mean, this is Sanderson we're talking about, and he is nothing if not one surprise after another. So First & Foremost, Some Foundations Okay, allow me to echo back to the conclusion to Calamity, in which we actually meet the title himself. Not Larcener the High Epic, but Calamity the God of sorts (we'll get to that). Trace back a number of steps to the dialogue between Calamity and David Charleston, our protagonist. Calamity hinted that there were many others like him, but did not elaborate on that whatsoever - did he mean each were sent to a different version of reality, or each were sent to a different world with sentient lifeforms? This does not initially seem something Calamity should be so afraid of revealing, until he nearly lets slip a very important detail. That is, each of these Calamity-figures were all sent by someone. It seems like he was referring to just one person at the time, before he cut himself off, so not much more was given here. We must also trace back to the very idea of other realities, and how heavily they weighed on the world and story. Other realities do exist. If infinite, it is not unlikely that the Cosmere is nestled in there. But I digress. Let's move on. Idea #1 - Reckoner-Earth Is In The Cosmere I should probably mention here and now that I don't believe this one is the truth of it. Maybe a bit of me hopes, but I don't really believe it. That would be too simple, too. . . not Sanderson. Look at the investiture of the confirmed Cosmere worlds - they are inherent to the world itself, to its peoples to its Gods for Gods' sake (don't excuse the pun, I'm proud of that one). The powers bestowed upon Epics are exactly that; bestowed. Given with a singular purpose by a singular figure (with a mysterious, and unfinished background). This figure, Calamity, was not a God of any sort. He simply does not fit in with the image of the Shards. Yes, we could think on the "others like him" as Shards, assuming he himself was one, but he also said they were each given a purpose, so to speak. Think again on Odium in the Cosmere - I doubt his purpose, if given by whoever (Adonalisium?) would be to splinter the other Shards. There is plenty of foundation to use this as a plausible theory, but I don't full accredit it. Let me know your thoughts! Ideas #2 - Reckoner-Earth Is In The Cosmere 2.0 Now, I had never even considered this before reading an entry on tor.com on part with the announcement of the Apocalypse Guard (Entry by Chris Lough - http://www.tor.com/2016/03/01/brandon-sanderson-announces-new-apocalypse-guard-book-trilogy/ ). Naturally I don't want to take full credit for this kind of idea, but let's step back a little and try see its potential. Essentially more or less all of the points from Idea #1 will be applied here, but instead of being within a Cosmere it is within a universe of its own - for sake of argument, we'll put it Cosmere 2.0. Again, who sent Calamity? WHAT IS Calamity? Will the Apocalypse Guild, with it being "parallel to Earth" be within this second Cosmere? All are questions we can't answer yet. But let's face it - we haven't seen the end of Calamity. His end was far too much of a loose end, and if we know anything, it's that Prof isn't a big fan of those. Megan is convinced Calamity will return. Mysteries upon mysteries left up in the remains of that glass ISS. We haven't seen the end of Calamity or, at least, the world in which the Reckoners take place regardless of whether or not there is a Cosmere 2.0. Ideas #3 - There Is A Cosmere 1.0, 2.0 & Maybe 3.0? Now, assume that there is a Cosmere (which there, uhm, is) but also a Cosmere 2.0, in which the Reckoners are, potentially the Apocalypse Guard and whatever else comes along (I am still uncertain as to whether or not is other non-Cosmere works would work here). But there is never a simple quid pro quo with Sanderson. So I will leave the idea of a third universe / Cosmere 3.0. A sort of leeway, almost like the three planes in Cosmere 1.0 (this is getting confusing). I mean, at this point this kind of thing can't be ruled out - after all, all Sanderson told us was that the likes of the Reckoners are not in the Cosmere as we know it (Mistborn, Stormlight and so on). He never speculated on a second Cosmere, let alone a third. What would be the purpose to a third, you ask? Well, look at the Cosmere. It has this ultimate storyline going on behind the scenes with Adonalisium, the Shards and Hoid. If there was a Cosmere 2.0, presumably it, too, would have its own storyline. Of course, if there were these two, there would have to be a point to it. A point to these two HUGE stories. So how else to connect them, if not through a third party? A Cosmere 3.0, if you will ealise there isn't a tremendous amount of supporting evidence here, but alas, until more books come out I cannot say. After all, one can't read Elantris and assume to know all there is about the Cosmere. That wouldn't make much sense. So let me know below your thoughts, where you think everything lies within Sanderson's head. I adore the idea that, on some level, ALL of his work is connected, even if it never touches. So give me your thoughts, whether to add onto mine or crush them down, whatever helps me keep up with my conspiracies That's all for now folks, until the next annoyance
  6. WARNING: I AM NOT SURE IF I BELIEVE THE FOLLOWING THEORY IS TRUE, BUT I WILL TRY TO CONVINCE YOU ANYWAY WARNING2: THIS IS NOT A "RENARIN WILL GO EVIL" THEORY, EVEN IF IT MAY LOOK LIKE THAT You must be wondering the meaning of the title of this thread, and your minds must be wandering throught dark places, as did mine as I conjoined the pieces of this Frankenstein's Monster of a theory. I'd post the fragments that lead me to these (mis)conclusions, but my e-book has been misbeheaving. 1.What we know: 1.1: The Hierocracy suppressed knowledge from before the Recreance. 1.2: They tried to conquer the world with a justification scarily similar to Dalinar's commands to unify. 1.3: They were very secretive, esoterical and claimed to have the power of prophecy. 1.4: Many of the precepts of modern vorinism were created in opposition to the Hierocracy. Now, things get interesting: 1.5: We know an order of Radiants did not forswear, but entertained great subterfuge at the expense of the others. 1.6: The Truthwatchers were secretive, esoteric, and did not readily share knowledge or speak of their actions. 1.7: If Renarin is any indication, the Truthwatchers have the power of prophecy. 1.8: While we know Renarin couldn't have progressed to whatever is the truthwatcher equivalent of a second oath knight until some time between bonding his shardblade and entering the big duel, we have no idea how long he has been bond to Glys. 2.What this thread is about: To put it simply, the Truthwatchers were the order that didn't forswear, instead slowly fading from view and taking over the church. After the Sunmaker defeated the Hierocracy, they disappeared again and infiltrated the Ardency and various governments and secret societies around Roshar, becoming a conspiracy within other conspiracies. Knowing the son of one of the most important men in Roshar was compatible with the order, they contacted him in secret, perhaps while Adolin and Dalinar were at Shinovar, promising to heal his epilepsy if he joined them and became their sleeper agent, to act as an intermediary with the new orders if so they wished. Of course, Renarin is neither a traitor nor an idiot, and the Truthwatchers knew that. So they taught him, told him part of their goals, let him know they weren't telling all the truth, and allowed him to refuse to cooperate if he wanted. They convinced him he was protecting his family and gaining the opportunity to follow his dreams, but at the same time could walk away if he wanted. And they never told him enough for him to be a threat, and he knew it. So, after they decided he would prove loyal enough, they secretely sent him a spren as part of his initiation. A spren who would give him forbidden powers, leave him in fear, drive him apart from others. A spren that, after remembering enough, will send Renarin back to them, where he will be welcomed by those who truly understand him, and he will become one of them. A Hierocrate. EDIT: changed the last paragraph, since it was supposed to be about possible future events. EDIT2:I think I may have convinced myself. Still unsure. EDIT3: 3.Amaram Strikes Back: One glaring flaw in this thery I forgot to adress is how the Sons of Honor, who want to bring back the Hierocracy, are connected to the Truthwatchers. Since the SoH seem horribly misguided, I'd say they aren't truly directly descended from the Hierocracy, but a group of people frustrated with modern vorinism who want to bring back the "good old days", and are most likely being manipulated by Odium. The true Hierocrates are just shaking their heads in disbelief and trying to find a way to use them to their purposes, whatever are they.
