  1. Normally I'm incredibly against rereading books. But with anything written by Sanderson, my opinion changes. There is just something about the way he writes that allows me to enjoy rereads as much, if not more than the first time. It might be the way he makes characters so believable and human, it might be the way every world he makes seems so real. It might be the way I can find a way to connect with almost all of his characters. Or maybe I just like the mystery of knowing he has the entire Cosmere planned out, and know close to nothing about it. But what I want to focus on here, is just a collection of all the excellent foreshadowing Sanderson does in his works. I'm currently almost done with my fifth reread of Warbreaker, and I still am finding things he foreshadowed that I had never picked up on before. So as you find foreshadowed events, or reveals in your rereads, please post them here and I'll keep updating this post so there can be a collection. I wish I had more quotes to start this with, but I'm sure everyone on the forums will be eager to contribute . I hope everyone finds this aspect of Sanderson's writing as intriguing as I do and hopefully this can turn into a pretty exhaustive list! Basically I'm just looking for quotes or specific situations that help the reader find out what is going to happen later in the books. Not so much things that hint towards the greater Cosmere, but the outcome of the specific book or series. Please give a chapter + quote or situation so I can put them in order! Warbreaker Elantris Stormlight Archive WoK WoR Mistborn Final Empire Well of Ascension Hero of Ages
  2. So I guess other shards effects last despite what world your on. I'm just wondering how Nightblood still has power and consciousness on Roshar without breaths. Also how is Vashor still alive since he needs one breath a week to stay alive? Can they substitute stormlight?
  3. 1| page 1050 of the original WoR Kindle edition Kaladin arrives in Uruthiru with Szeth's Honorblade. As far as I know this scene is the last we see of the Honorblade. I am assuming Kaladin left the Honorblade with Dalinar which then leads me to the interesting tidbit - when the Stone Shamans learn of Szeth's "death" how will they go about recovering the Honorblade from Dalinar? Szeth mentioned at some point (forgot to mark the spot) that his people were not worried about recovering the blade after his death. Could this be a significant conflict in the coming third book? Will the Shin send powerful warriors wielding the other Honorblades? Silent assassins? Proto-radiants of some kind? 2| page 976 of the original WoR Kindle edition "Kaladin stood in the rain. “Do you know where the King’s Wit is?” “That fool, Dust? Not here, blessedly. Why?”" This scene is Kaladin speaking to Zahel while Kaladin is recovering from his injuries and wrestling with his conscience over the plot against Elhokar. Note how Zahel (Vasher) refers to Hoid as "Dust". Hoid and Vasher seem to have met in the past. The name "Dust" seems full of meaning but I cannot really think of what that meaning might be in relation to Nalthis or Roshar. Thoughts?
  4. There are a few things about Nalan that have me curious about his (possible) abilities... and possibly the Skybreakers' as well. It's not really a proper theory or anything... but maybe you guys can help me figure this out and clear up my confusion. How many Nalan are we really dealing with, here? Here is where my confusion begins in Words of Radiance: Distance - (Interlude-2) We see Nalan in Iri hunting Ym. (Interlude-9) We see Nalan (aka Darkness) in Azir hunting Lift. (Chapter 88) We see Nalan in the Frostlands reviving Szeth (and offering him Nightblood). Iri, Azir, and the Frostlands are pretty far apart on the map of Roshar. Iri is far NorthWest, the Frostlands are far SouthEast, and Azir is nearer to the middle (but it's a little closer to Iri than the Frostlands). In any case, Nalan seems to be covering a lot of ground awfully fast during the events of WoR. How? I wonder how much time it really takes to travel across practically all of Roshar like that. If he is 'flying', then isn't that about the most overt way of getting around that he could possibly choose? If he is traveling by foot, then how would he cover so much ground so fast? Nalan's Minions- When he hunts Ym in Iri, he has no minions. When he appears in Azir, he has two minions. When he appears in the Frostlands, he again has no minions (and is carrying Nightblood). His minions are extremely knowledgeable about stormlight, investiture, and the like. One of them even has a shardblade... So I doubt that these minions were a couple of nobodies just drafted to help Nalan out in Azir only... and only for one case. Time - I'd be willing to believe Nalan simply travelled in one single direction during the events of WoR (First Iri, then Azir, then to the Frostlands) if it weren't for the time he spent on each case. In each case (Ym/Lift/Szeth) Nalan made it a point to explain how much work he'd put into each person. Nalan to Ym = "I had to look very hard to discover your indiscretion." Nalan to Lift = "Even the chaotic can be predictable with proper study.” (Presumably referring to her escape patterns, habits, etc.) Nalan to Szeth = "You? Not worthy? I watched you destroy yourself in the name of order, watched you obey your personal code when others would have fled or crumbled. Szeth-son-Neturo, I watched you keep your word with perfection..." On top of this, Lift already had prior experiences with him and knew he was dangerous. By the time she first saw him enter the palace during her story arc, she already had a name for him in her mind - Darkness. He seems to spend an awful lot of time and energy in each case and location he visits. Even understanding their laws and abiding by them. The mountains of paperwork he and his minions prepared in Azir to apprehend Lift could not have been an overnight task. To some extent, Nalan seems to have some roots in these places. His emotionlessness - When talking to Szeth: "He spoke the words calmly, without emotion." While chasing Lift: “'What was that?' Darkness asked, his voice cold, emotionless." Talking to Ym: “'You were an accomplice to murder,' the man said, pulling his gloves on more tightly, first one hand, then the other. He spoke with such a stark lack of emotion, he could have been conversing about the weather." Notable words from Lift: "He didn’t curse in annoyance. A fellow should curse. Made people feel real when they did that. But of course, Darkness wasn’t a real person. Of that, though little else, she was sure." and she also referred to him having "dead eyes" when she first saw him. All of Nalan's emotionlessness makes me feel like something more is going on than just a personality flaw. Are we dealing with more than one Nalan? Is it possible that we are dealing with Nalan's self-puppets somehow? ...mere husks of "Nalan Prime" whom we haven't really seen yet? Can he somehow use his Division surge to split thereby making "copies" of himself? Is the Nightwatcher involved? ...Or is he getting the help of an Elsecaller? Is he 'flying' and somehow avoiding detection from the general population? What the crap is going on? Am I missing something super simple, here?
  5. So, I'm going to predicate this with a caveat that what I'm about to say is probably not true, but it is an interesting coincidence. Ym, if you've forgotten, is one of the characters with an Interlude POV in Words of Radiance. He is the cobbler who asks for the stories of people as payment for his services. He is most notable as the first on-page victim of Nale and for his story of the One becoming Many. When talking with the urchin in his Interlude chapter, Ym mentions something that seems to be a part of the Iriali religion that I found interesting. He then goes on to say in the next paragraph: Now, this might be because I'm half out of my mind with the flu, but I think that this is a hint from Brandon. The Iriali are currently in the Fourth Land. Roshar is the fourth Shardworld introduced in the published novels. What, then, is the Seventh Land? I would guess Yolen. I'm going to stop now, because I'm tired of having to think, but I would like to hear the thoughts of others on this. I'm likely wrong, but I do think that there is something significant here, and I thought that maybe suggesting what I thought might prompt someone to come up with other possible explanations.
  6. Ok, Friends. Help me out here. For I have gone and convinced myself of something crazy! Sorry, I'm new to the forum and I don't know how to do that cool "spoiler" button yet. Please be aware that this theory mainly concerns The Stormlight Archive: Way of Kings and will have spoilers for the stormlight series. But because of said theory, this post will also contain spoilers from the Alloy of Law. So please continue reading at your own risk! If you have read both books, please give your thoughts on this theory. Many thanks! Toward the end of Interlude-6 when Szeth finds Gavashaw dead along with his [former] master Makkek, he's greeted by this dark figure who bears Szeth's Oathstone and gives him Taravangian's kill list. I'd like to discuss who this dark figure might be... Because I don't believe he's just some unimportant messenger. Szeth doesn't recognize this man's accent. This seems to be a gentle suggestion that the figure might originate off world. I figure Szeth would have traveled many places since becoming Truthless and having his Oathstone traded so frequently. Szeth guesses that the dark figure's accent might be Alethi, but he isn't sure. No real description of the dark figure is really given except that his voice is "male and deep" so a physical match can't really be made. The figure even wore a mask. So all we can really go on and take clues from is the shrouded man's words. Monologuing - This shrouded figure is heavily opinionated for someone who is presumably unimportant and needs to only deliver proof of the Oathstone exchanging hands and the new orders from the new master. That being said, what the man starts monologuing about is, i feel, key to discovering his true identity. He says things like: "Are you satisfied with this... are you satisfied with trivial crimes?" "What a waste... You are squandered." "You are a work of art... a god." “But do you not rebel against this frivolous use of your skills? Were you not meant for greatness?” "It's time you stop wasting your talent." Very interesting statements. He had virtually no reason to monologue to Szeth... and combining that with his strange accent, I keep feeling like this shrouded figure is more important that the interlude makes apparent. He shows up nowhere else in the series (as of yet) to pick apart more clues. These statements come dangerously close to many things said to Waxillium Ladrian back on Scadrial. My vote is that the masked and shadowed man giving Szeth his new orders is Miles "Hundredlives" Dagouter who is now on Roshar. As implausible as it seems, he may not actually be truly dead. It was never explained how he was still able to heal after all of his metalminds were apparently removed. Therefore we don't know to what extent his death was an act or irreversible (including his missing pulse). We know nothing of the remains/body of Mile Dagouter. Beyond that, the cosmere has "Returned" and fabrials that can revive people from the unthinkable (like with a certain someone at the end of WoR). Miles Dagouter is my best guess as to who this man might be... he doesn't actually have to have survived his experienced on Scadrial to be alive on Roshar right now. He's Miles Hundredlives Dagouter... he's been through a lot worse. He probably had gold implanted in his bones. He was very confident when he went up for execution. Why would he have been so confident if he knew he'd eventually run out of gold during the execution and die anyway? As for what he'd be doing on Roshar? Probably doing the same thing he was doing on Scadial. Serving someone, believing in a higher cause. Like Taravangian. Thoughts?
  7. This quote leapt off the pages the first time I read this book, the second it did the same, even when I listened I could not get it out of my head and no on here has mentioned it. Maybe it is very obvious to everyone else, and therefore was of little consequence, but I think it might be important for the story. First, I see from the text, there are two figures up on the plateau. The first is huge, hulking and inhuman. The second is sleek and alien. Since alien = inhuman in this context, I'm not sure that the second adjective tells us much. The first figure is also said to be glowing although the second could be striding in the glow of the first. Brandon immediately pulls Kaladin's attention away from the plateau and turns him to Shallan after the above quote so we have no mention of it other than this that I noticed. So what is it that is out walking in the storms? Obviously it could be some major spren, but this seems to be too easy an answer here, I think there is something much more drastic going on, but I cannot put my finger on what it might be. Any thoughts? -cj
  8. Ok in the Prelude to TWoK Talenel (Taln, Talenelat, Talenel'Elin) dies and his honorblade vanishes, so that there are only 9 left in the circle. In Words of Radiance, doesn't Dalinar bond Talenel'Elin's honorblade? And if Dalinar DID bond the honorblade, as WoR mentions in multiple places that Dalinar had bonded "that madman's blade". Why, at the end of WoR, does the blade that Dalinar has bonded start screaming inside his head after Dalinar swears his second oath, and The Stormfather refer to the blade as a "monstrosity"?? Especially if Szeth had an honorblade, and it did not scream in Kaladin's mind.
  9. Let me start this by apologizing for spelling, I'm listening to the book this time round instead of reading and don't have the book on hand. This may have been mentioned in other posts, but I have come to the conclusion (due to taravangeen's (Tv) journal) that shallan's brother helleran is still alive and the loose idea that TV may have created szeth. In his conversation with szeth in Jah Keved, he muses that Shallan may have been trained by Jasnah or her brother. This means that at the very least TV's smart self thought helleran was a surgebinder. This means that he likely wouldn't be able to stand to hold a shardblade (dead one), let alone charge into battle to kill Amaram. All we actually know of the assassin is that he had red hair and wielded the same shard that Helleran possessed at one point. Since many in Jah Keved have red hair, it doesn't seem so far fetched to assume that Hell could have handed off his shard blade upon taking some of his oaths. In a chapter header, TV smart comes to the conclusion that the honor blades are in shin and muses that a truthless with an honorblade would be useful. It seems oddly coincidental that szeth just happens to come along at this time, and makes more sense if TV created him. It's not as though he isn't capable of it.
  10. Hello Everyone, For a School project that i am doing i have to make a presentation to my Librarian on seven books that i have read, and in the presentation i must recommend whether the book should be added to the library's collection, or i can recommend that it be removed. The decision to add or remove must be based on the gender stereotyping found in each book and what people will learn about the role of gender from reading it I am basically done with the presentation but i feel like i am repeating myself throughout the presentation and i have run out of good ideas/examples. So i thought that i would turn to the community that i know best and that i have found to be extremely intelligent and fair in regards to discussion/argument of a topic. Which is why i humbly come to you now. The seven books (Note that i can use an entire series as a single book) that i have chosen to analyse in terms of Gender stereotyping are as follows: 1) Stormlight Archive 2) Mistborn 3) warbreaker 4) Elantris 5) The Painted Man (Peter V. Brett) 6) The Name Of the Wind (Patrick Rothfuss) 7) The Black Prism (Brent Weeks) I look forward to the discussions we will have around this sensitive topic. if i do use any ideas or comments from our discussion i will reference it completely.
  11. Jezrien. This might sound crazy and I don't think there's enough evidence to conclusive prove it yet (and WoB suggests not) but here goes: So WoB has hinted that Taln isn't Taln (though that could be a red herring) so I got to thinking to who it could be... We know that the current heralds are going crazy along the lines of their previous character so Nalan is taking justice to extremes and Shalash is breaking all her own statues. So how would the epitome of Honour break when he's broken the most important oath he ever swore? Answer: By trying to get back what he lost and taking on the role of the person he most betrayed. Taln who the other heralds abandoned to hell-equivalent. I think however it goes beyond Jezrien pretending to be Taln and into the fact that he believes he is now Taln. This puts a new slant on the 'Am I too late? in his PoV sections. From Taln-perspective, is he too late to stop the desolations? From Jezrien's perspective, I think it ties in thematically with Kaladin's plotline, is he too late to regain the honour he's lost by breaking the oath? This might also explain why the blade Dalinar bonded is not an honour blade as we know Jezrien doesn't have his honour blade... which I think will tie in with the narrative because: where is Jezrien's honour blade? Well, Kaladin got it back off Szeth so it's currently in Urithiru which is where Amaran is taking Jezrien. Herald and Honour-blade reunion? WoB says there isn't enough evidence yet for what happened to the herald-blade which leads me to think if my theory is correct, there isn't enough evidence that Jezrien is Taln. Other evidence is that the conversation between Nalan and someone in the Jasnah PoV prologue mentions Jezrien being a drooling mess. Obviously this occurs well before the epilogue to WoK where Taln/Jezrien arrives but I think Taln/Jezrien is definitely someone who could be described as a mess, perhaps a mess who is just starting to recover a semblance of sanity through pretence. Also when Taln catches the blade before it kills Amaran, did he really catch it or could he have used a binding to pull it to himself? I'm not sure what 'powers' Heralds have, whether it's the same as their orders or something more. Other possible evidence that I only discovered from checking the coppermind, this quote: “[The Makabaki] worship Jezrien, though they don’t accept him as a figure from the Vorin religion. They name him the only god.” —Teft about the Makabaki[1] I'm pretty sure that the current Taln was described as looking like a Makabaki so it makes sense that their God looks like them! I can't think of a good explanation yet so why Hoid tells Taln/Jezrien he's late... other than it possibly tying into the conversation about being the second person to <x> so Jezrien is the second person to 'be Taln' as it were or why the shardblade that Taln/Jezrien found somewhere didn't disappear when he was unconscious but still. So, complete madness or possibility?
  12. So we have a WoB that goes something like this The only thing I noticed was the map is somewhat in the shape of a ying/yang symbol (or an Aes Sedai symbol!). Any of our supertalented spotters catch anything else? Edit: Adding a link to the physical realm map http://brandonsanderson.com/beta/wp-content/gallery/stormlight-2-maps-and-illustrations-2/WoR_endpaper-2.jpg Edit 2: Adding a link to the Shadesmar map http://coppermind.net/w/images/Shadesmar_%28TWoK%29.jpg Edit 3: Adding link to black and white Roshar map http://coppermind.net/w/images/Roshar.jpg Edit 4: Congratulations to Veil and Jensen for Figuring It Out on page 31! Summary/Things we found. Thank you to Veil for putting all this together! Here is her wonderful Summary.
  13. What would happen if the characters from the Stormlight Archive existed in our universe at our time period. if they did then what social media would they use. Lift would definitely use Tumblr, probably as a fandom or comedy blogger and her blog would certainly be food orientated. Wit i think would use twitter. his entire existence on the internet would be to insult people in short tweets Shallan would use DeviantArt no more to say about that! I feel Adolin, Kaladin and Danilar would be competing Youtubers (i'd subscribe to them!) How about the other characters, what would they use?
  14. I personally liked WoR more because it had more comedy and seemed a little more...RADIANT! Anyway, I especially like the part where Szeth meets his spren Nightblood and becomes a Skybreaker. That part was really intriguing.
  15. In WoR Szeth comes to the shattered plain to assassinate Dalinar instead of Elkohar. though even after Szeth revealing that he was not after Elkohar, Dalinar did not reveal it to anyone. And Kaladin did not reveal it either. So my question is how did elkohar know that? Just before Graves and Moash try to assassinate Elkohar says that "not even the assassin thinks I'm worthy of the throne..." So, how did he know? Or did someone spill it and I missed it? This questions been bothering me
  16. If this has been pointed out elsewhere, ignore me. But if not, then I found a cool thing. Yay! Also, potential spoilers below. Caveat lector. ~ So it appears that the Lightweavers, with their "strange and varied mnemonic abilities," (WoR p. 566, Kindle edition) weren't the only ones with extra perks granted via Nahel bond that don't involve spren or Surges (assuming that the enhanced memory is indeed caused by that). Reference chapter 55's epigraph (WoR p. 636, Kindle edition): Never tells us what they're freakishly good at, does it? But I noticed that the page referenced sounded familiar. In the previous chapter, that same page of Words of Radiance is referenced. It says: This seems to imply that the Skybreakers have an unusual ability to distinguish between those who are guilty and those who are innocent. Fitting, as the Skybreakers put the law above all else.
  17. Hi Guys! I'm a long time reader and first time poster to this forum and I was wondering what your opinions on a idea I had. I'm not sure if this has been discussed already, but in the WoB Q: Will we learn more about the character currently known as Hoid in Words of Radiance? A: Yes, you will. Watch for a story told at a bar. *I dont know how to quote sorry* I've seen a lot of people agree that this scene is when they are discussing Rock's meeting with his god at the tavern, but I have noticed a possible but probably unlikely option that Brandon was being tricky with his wording. I was thinking that maybe the story told at the bar was actually Wit/Hoids story that he told to Kaladin through the bars of his cell in WoR. A wild theory but I wanted to know what you think
  18. I decided to make this thread after reading a thread combing through the death rattles. I wanted to try and make sense of the snippets from the book from the start of each chapter and try to put them in order and see what we could learn about the Radiants. By Chapter: Rough order of WOR:
  19. So you know those three diamond shapes that appear between paragraphs sometimes(the symbol of the Ghostbloods)? And the endnotes that seem to be written by Ghostbloods hence (from The Way of Kings) "Joshor, Head of His Majesty's Silent Gatherers, Tanatanev, 1173." His majesty being Taravangian. Just a thought. Not actually sure if there's enough evidence (or even if this stuff is correct, seeing as they could be false conclusions and I have actually finished WoR ). Edit: *Please reply if you have anything that contradicts or supports this theory. Thank you.
  20. Recently, after thinking about the lyrics of the Christmas song "Jingle Bells" I payed specific attention to one line: "Oh what fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight!" And so I thought, "Hey! SING A SLAYING SONG tonight! The Parshendi sing while they kill!" And so I sought the opportunity to make a parody of this classic Christmas song. Here was the result: Parhsendi Plateau Assault Written by ChullRider To the tune of "Jingle Bells" Sang by the Parshendi ---------- Dashing on Plateaus Preparing to slay O'er the Plains we go Killing all the way! Singing Creepily Making Spirits Grim What fun it is to run And sing a Slaying song to them! --Chorus-- O! Alethi! Alethi! Please prepare to DIE! Oh what fun it is to kill all of the Ale----THI! Alethi! Alethi! Please prepare to DIE! O, what fun it is to kill all the Alethi! ----------- And unlike "Jingle Bells," this one isn't festive, so you can sing it year-round! Happy caroling! ~ChullRider
  21. Adding on to my Chasm Duty scene I made a few days ago (which can be found here: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/20625-lego-chasm-duty-scene-way-of-kings/ ), I've made an ardent and chull scene. Picture 1: General Overview of the scene. Picture 2: Directing rod (to use on chull's antennas), Ardent, and saddle, respectively. Picture 3: SIde view of the chull Picture 4: Is it a chull? Is it a boulder? That's all for now.
  22. Okay, so I preemptively apologize to everyone if this question exists elsewhere, but I don't know how to find the answers I'm looking for. I actually have two questions: 1) We know that the Parshendi had spies in the Alethi camps (obviously, since I'm talking about Rlain), and we know that they have some weird mental connections. However, we never experience an Eshonai interlude (at least that I can remember) where she mentally communicates with another of her species. Yes, in conversation the Parshendi often "hum" a tone which can be felt by their conversation partners, but so far we have not experienced any other form of telepathy, which I assume is how spies in the warcamps communicate since they and the rest of the parshmen are so closely watched and counted by their Alethi owners. It doesn't make sense that parshmen are just walking back and forth across the barren Shattered Plains--surely they would be seen by the numerous Alethi scouts. Therefore, my first question is how do the spies communicate with the Parshendi at Narak? We know Rlain has been in the warcamps for years -- that is a long time for a spy to sit around being useless, since during wartime information would be needed as fast as it could be brought. So, Rlain is worthless....unless there is some sort bond that Parshendi possess through their Cognitive connections that allow their spies to transmit information nigh-instantly. Remember, Eshonai knew that the Alethi would be marching towards Narak within a short amount of time after Dalinar made the decision to do so. I'm curious what the forums have uncovered via WOB's or from their own speculations. It seems apparent to me that all of this could be explained by the spies running back and forth between the camps and Narak, but once again I feel like that it too much traffic to not be noticed by sharp-eyed scouts looking for movement. 2) My second Rlain question revolves around the in-book timeframe. We know that Shen told Kaladin he needed to leave Bridge 4 before Kaladin fell into the chasm, and even before Adolin's 4-person duel and Kaladin's days (weeks?) of imprisonment. We also know that the Parshendi are able to cross the Shattered Plains at a much faster rate than the Alethi due to their ability to jump. How quickly can they move across the Plains? Given that they reach the chasmfiend chrysalises at the same time as or often before the Alethi, even Sadeas's troops, and it's unlikely that they have roaming armies, they must then leave from Narak itself. This means that they can move across the vast majority of the Shattered Plains--almost to the warcamps themselves--in hours, when it takes Alethi armies days to reach Narak. Admittedly, a dullform Parshendi probably can't move as quickly, but they have to cross the plains somehow. So, at the very least we know that Rlain transformed into warform BEFORE approaching Narak during one of the highstorms. However, he only approached Narak AFTER the final two highstorms before the Weeping! He mentions to Dalinar that the transformation of his people was the reason he stayed away from Narak when he first approached it. THIS CREATES A WEIRD TIME GAP BETWEEN HIS ESCAPE ONTO THE PLAINS AND HIS ALMOST RETURN TO NARAK! Full weeks pass between his departure and his rediscovery by the Alethi army. He already admitted he never returned to Narak, so what in the world was he doing? How was he surviving alone for weeks out on the barren Shattered Plains? What could have happened here? Please, enlighten me, as I am very confused by this seeming time-progression dichotomy.

  24. We have two cases of Shards being used in a digestive system. First, we have Allomancy which (I think) let's people control their digestion of metals to "burn" them. Then, we have Lift being able to metabolize stormlight. A tentative connection to this is breathing in stormlight. Kaladin, Moash, Dalinar, and Shallan all breath in the stormlight, freeing them from the need of oxygen. I have two(ish) questions. 1. Do the worms in the Aviars gain their power from the different bird meet they eat? 2. Does having access to a magic system change the genetic make up of the body to be able to use the magic? (3. If number two is correct and if the tentative connection turns out to be a good one, does stormlight replace air?)
  25. Please Note: The following is all speculation, and not necessarily correct. I could not help noticing that a number of people with the same surges seemed to have similar personalities. I'm not sure whether this has been discussed before, but here is my theory. Orders with a type of Surge in it will be attracted to a kind of personality. I have a few examples. Windrunners/ Skybreakers: Shared Surge = Gravitation Both the Windrunners and the Skybreakers seem to feel the need to uphold what they believe to be right. In the Windrunners case, it is their own personal ethics, while in the Skybreakers case, it is the law they attempt to uphold. This could be why their is anger between them, as when their beliefs conflict, both sides will feel the need to uphold their own belief. Lightweavers and Elsecallers: Shared Surge = Soulcasting Shallan Davar and Jasnah Kholin both have a keen interest in the scholarly arts. This is probably just due to a co-incedence, but what if the spren associated with Soulcasting are attracted to scholarly figures in the same way creationspren are attracted to Shallan when she creates an artwork?
