  2. AGAIN, SPOILERS TO BE SAFE. BELOW THIS POINT, THERE BE SPOILERS DO NOT READ BELOW THIS POINT IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED THE FIRST MISTBORN TRILOGY! Do you think that we will see them again? Sazed restored their bodies, and promised that they would return as soon as he knew how to, but I wonder when this might be? In the modern world? the space age one? If they do come back, I hope they do not die again. Has Brandon ever offered any hints or discussions about this, in person or anywhere online?
  3. From the album: Fan-art

I love Vin! not sure how I feel about the pink backround but it needed some pazzaz?

  4. Reiyeka

    Vin

Nearly put metal buttons on her cloak during my insomnious haze of finishing this. Heh heh.
  5. Commissioned my best friend ( @tashiturn on instagram) for our 4th anniversary. Mistborn era 1 is the series that will always be dear to our hearts (as it made us cry more than Brandon's other works so that's saying something). We love the idea of how Vin and Elend are strong individuals with contrasting personalities yet they complement each other really well. They are the ultimate power couple.
  6. So I want to cosplay Vin for a convention. I already saw another post about making a mistcloak. Not looking forward to sewing that by hand. What does vin wear under it? Would just black leggings and a black shirt work? Also I was thinking about making glass/obsidian daggers but I don't know how to make fake versions of those or what type of fabric the handles would be wrapped in. At least I think I remember the book mentioning wrapped handles. If anyone could give me any suggestions that would be great
  7. I searched this forum for the answer to why Reen repeatedly beat Vin on a regular basis her entire life. Seeing how loyal he was to her at his end confuses me. I assumed he was trying to snap allomancy into her (apparantly childbirth did it (if it were only so easy for others back then)). Could there be another darker explanation about Reen. I apologize if this topic has already been discussed, please send me a link to it. Then delete this clutter here. Thanks Cosmere

    Steelpushing

Someone else has probably already asked this question, but I'm a little confused as to something in Mistborn: The Final Empire. In the book, Kelsier explains Steelpushing as a weight thing, you push on something lighter than you that is unsupported, it goes away, but if it is heavier than you or supported, you move in the opposite direction. If this is how Steelpushing works, how come Vin can hold her own in a pushing match with people thrice her size without the use of duralumin?
  9. So I noticed while reading Oathbringer that May Aladar is described almost the exact same way as Vin. So maybe Sazed found out how bring her back?
  10. So I've just begun my third read of Mistborn era 1. The first description of Shan Elariel states that she has long black hair. But now I've come across another description which says auburn hair. So which is it?
  11. Vin instinctively burning metals is a known fact. She was burning Tin and Pewter without even knowing when she tried to scam March. In my third read of the book, I notice a small passage, in chapter 24 right after the spook slang joke: Vin felt…contented. As she sipped at her wine, she caught sight of the open doorway leading into the darkened workshop. She imagined, just for a moment, that she could see a figure out in the shadows—a frightened wisp of a girl, untrusting, suspicious. The girl’s hair was ragged and short, and she wore a simple, untucked dirty shirt and a pair of brown trousers. Not only vin could see her other self but she also was able to know what she was thinking. It feel more like burning gold to me that just imagination. It made me wonder if vin did instinctively burn some unknown metals (her that era) like Bendalloy or Cadmium. This is my first post and English is my third language, I am sorry in advance if I made any mistakes.
  12. I first found this board while googling about the romances in Stormlight (specifically the possibility of Adolin-Kaladin romance, but that's another story ), and obviously found lots of threads about possible Kaladin/Adolin/Shallan love triangle, and primarily about how the idea was hated and (at least from my reading at the time) something Brandon was unlikely to do... Imagine my surprise when Mistborn has a love triangle! And a pretty classic one at that (girl protagonist who falls for the good guy (and prince to boot!) but is distracted from the romance by bad boy love interest.) Why the shock that Brandon would do this again? Or did everyone hate it and it's just hope he won't? If anything, at least the outcome in the Stormlight triangle isn't predetermined; I'm not even finished with Well of Ascension, and I'm 99.9% sure Elend is the winner.

    MV6 Vin And Elend

So what started out as a typo (talking about how long inquisitors love live) nearly a year ago has brought me to this. Just in time for the Holiday, enjoy these Mistborn Valentines Day Cards! See all of my Valentine's Day Cards here. See a PDF of printable, foldable versions of these cards here. It was a lot of fun making these, and I will probably do some more in the future. Maybe some Stormlight Archives Valentines? We'll see! If you have any ideas, please send me an email and let me know.

Nothing like a mistifying Mistborn, eh?
  15. Hi All! I'm new to the forum, but a long time Brandon Sanderson fan. I love the Mistborn trilogy, and thought it would be fun to create a Lego Ideas project based on it! For those that don't know, Lego Ideas is a platform where users can submit their creations, and if they get enough supporters it could become a real Lego set! Check out the details and such on the official site. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f33f22fb-ca30-43b5-a46a-6f17bede06ed
  16. Love love LOVE THOS SERIES- only up to book three but everything is juST SO GOOD!! Vin and Elend are my fave, and watching the characters interact is a blessing!! This book is just so real, even though it's not, the way it's written is perfect! 100% blessing
  17. I'm sure most people know this or have already read a post about this, but Vin almost did manage to steal the Lord Ruler's Atium in the first book of the Mistborn series. In fact, she was closer to learning on of the Final Empire's greatest secrets within the first few chapters of FE. But that was before Kelsier swept her away. This is just a small thing, but I find it so ironic how circular the Mistborn Trilogy is. If you recall, Camon's crew was planning a large heist that involved intercepting a shipment of ministry funds that was to be hidden on barges of new obligator acolytes. This was to be a big score, one of the biggest Vin had ever seen up to that time. However, there was far more at stake than anyone realized. In HoA, Sazed learns from the First Generation of Kandra that the Lord Ruler was very careful with the little amounts of Atium that was allowed to leave the Pitts. In order to hide the movements of Ruin's body the Lord ruler snuck the beads of Atium inside the shipments of ministry funds sent into Luthadell on the barges of new obligator acolytes in order to hide the movement from the eyes of the destructive shard. If Camen had stuck to his original plan and had succeeded, they not only would have acquired a large amount of gold, but they would have discovered the Atium being smuggled from the pits into Luthadel. Unfortunately, the result of this would certainly have been the swift and brutal massacre of the skaa who found and attempted to sell this massive treasure. All in all, it's probably best that the plan fell apart before it could happen. But it's ironic how close Vin was to stealing the Atium right from the start. Even more so to think that Marsh traveled on those very barges filled with Atium. The strange reality is that Camon was far better at stealing the Lord Ruler's Atium cache than Kelsier, albeit unintentionally.
  18. I made Vin first, actually, but they view best as Kelsier on Vin's left I think.

    Vin

When you're bored of school and the back of your folder is just empty space.
  20. The first time Vin burned Allomantic Gold, she claimed she "felt" a possible alternate Vin. Kelsier made it seem that she must be mistaken. Given all the manipulations by Ruin and the grand plan put in motion by Preservation ages ago. Did she truly feel herself?
  21. So I was inspired by @ShadowLord_Lith and his post about Shards. I wanted to ask this question in a broader forum area. If you were to be a Shard, what would your name be? Also, if you feel inclined, enlighten us on your magic system and world. I would be happy to hear! If I were to be a shard, I would be Affirmation. Magic in my world would be based upon strength of belief, being similar to Soulcasting. If you believe something, Investiture would affirm said thing, making it true. Also, another form of Investiture would be able to work upon the mind, Affirming certain beliefs inside of someone, similar to Soothing and Rioting. I could Affirm certain beliefs to make them stronger, while Dismissing others. In terms of a world, I would have several high mountains, which sat above a shadowed world covered by clouds. Below, your abilities would be far more powerful, due to the planet being undefined, while above, humans lived normally. There would be two types of magic, the mental Affirmations and Dismissals, and the physical Affirmations and Dismissals. As I said above, you can only truly change reality within the lower areas of the planet, the ones below the Godpeaks. So, this would prevent the destruction of humanity before it could develop a set of rules. The further one goes from the ground of the planet, the weaker their physical abilities would become. Conversely, those who possessed mental abilities would grow stronger the further you ascended. After all, creation is impulsive, while belief is built on already created ideas. Creation must come from something unformed, while honing something, that comes from what has been built. The Godpeaks were built by me personally, and as such, can not be affected by physical Affirmation. Someone could only destroy my Affirmation with intense amounts of Investiture, as to destroy an idea, you need a more powerful one.
  22. In Secret History, Harmony had this to say about the Beyond: What would Harmony say about the Beyond now, when thousands of years have passed? Has he learned anything? damnation I want to ask that question or something like it from Brandon. ...is it possible to *sobs* GET VIN BACK?

  24. This is my first post here so please give me any tips or whatever you got for me that I may need. I've watched the site for a long time, and love a lot of the things that come out of here, but am AMAZED no one has had a thread on this. If there is one let me know, but I have been unable to find it. So. Here we go! We know as per WOB that Vin was special for reasons he has not explained yet. This was on October 12 of 2015. I have included everything to keep it in context. QUESTION We were talking about Kelsier, and how he was much more powerful than most Mistborn, and how Vin was slightly more than most Mistborn ? BRANDON SANDERSON Why were Vin and Kelsier more powerful? QUESTION I know why Kelsier, but why Vin? BRANDON SANDERSON Vin was not more powerful. Vin just took to it very naturally. She was highly skilled. It was very instinctive to her, but Elend was actually more powerful than she was, if you count just raw power. Vin just knew her stuff. Beyond that Vin is a rare individual that for reasons I have not explained yet, was able to draw in the mists for a little extra boost at times. And there are other characters you have seen do this. This was on November 7 of 2016 QUESTION What made Vin so special? BRANDON SANDERSON RAFO So. Brandon STILL refuses to explain why Vin was a rare individual. I haven't been able to find anything in regards to this and am wondering if Vin being a rare individual will be important in the future. It seems like it would be if Mr. Sanderson still won't say anything about it. Does anyone have anything about this they can share? Any theories, crazy or not, with proof or not, would be loved.
