  1. From the album: Memes!

I think this captures Kaladin's stubborn nature very well
  2. The purpose of this topic is to project the most extreme abilities of any investiture in the cosmere based on the currently referenceable material. Ideas which can be logically defended are welcome regardless how outrageous. As promised a coinshot laser would likely be produced by a Steel twinborn compounder after the discovery of heavy metals and at least some experiments in nuclear science on Scadrial. This individual would likely be able to detonate nuclear explosions using metal pushing and heavy metals and would need the speed of a steelrunner to avoid serious injury. Using metal pushing they could likely push small particles of radioacive metal forming a type of laser or electromagnetic particle beam at high velocity. Due to a strong spiritual affinity with steel because of being a steel twin it might be possible that they could store steel pushes and speed in a metal mind for use feruchemically yielding steel pushes and speed to exceed duralumin assisted allomancy. The nuclear particle beam could be used on its own or in concert with radioactive spheres in battle situations to inflict massive damage. The nuclear laser could be used to split atoms in a plutonium, uranium or like metal to create atomic or nuclear explosions. Due to the ability to create steel bubbles they could also probably shield themselves from the radiation of nuclear material on or near them. With fine enough control they could also perform nuclear laser surgery. They could be outfitted in steel biomechanical armor that could act as a metal mind for both their allomantic and feruchemical abilities. What do you think of this idea or what extreme use of investiture do you envision?
  3. I've recently finished the Stormlight series and have been wondering about some interactions Stormlight could have with Feruchemy. Could a Feruchemist theoretically use an unkeyed metalmind as a perfect battery for Stormight? This could circumvent some of the issues with using gems as storage for Stormlight much more efficiently than perfectly cut gemstones and could even enhance Feruchemical and Allomantic abilities with the extra Investiture as has been seen with individuals like the Lord Ruler using the extra Investiture of Allomancy to enhance Feruchemy, possibly creating an extremely powerful multiple use source of Investiture. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have thought of this so I'd like to hear from the more experienced readers on this forum.
  4. From the album: Stormlight Fanart

There's that one scene in WoR where Shallan finds a place brimming with life, and she stops to draw. I just couldn't get that scene out of my head! LIFESPREN! Yes, I know I haven't drawn what could even closely be considered Rosharan flora...
  5. So, there are several magic systems that are considered canon, though they've not yet really been in a canon, published work. I wanted to list them out and see if anyone else knew of any more. I'm going to sort them into, basically, canon and made a cameo, canon but not in anything published, and probably canon but not confirmed. Canon with a Cameo -Yolish Lightweaving: made an appearance in the Stormlight books when Hoid used Lightweaving and needed Shallan's assistance (assuming that instance wasn't him using a different form of Lightweaving) -Aethers: smaller cameo in Stormlight, as a pinkish crystal and as a blood/oil like substance on some clothing Canon but no Published Appearances (both mentioned in WoBs and in the Bridge 4 chapters of Dragonsteel that were released on Brandon's website) -Tzai Blows -Microkinesis Quasi-canon -Disease magic of Ashyn: this one seems to depend on Brandon getting the magic system figured out and finding time for Silence Divine -Kite magic: mentioned by Brandon as the magic in a potential YA book, where Hoid’s apprentice needs to learn the magic Are there any I'm missing? Edit: Edited to add the kite magic
  6. I LOVE the Stormlight archives and the Mistborn series I have read them twice. In the words of someone wise "if any book is worth reading once that means it can be read a second time."
  7. From the album: Best in show

The Conch Canin is an ancient breed, almost dating back to the Shadow days, and is most well known for its two most prominent qualities, it’s astounding intelligence and it’s strong, perhaps infamous fear of highstorms. Due these factors it has been the perfect archetypal candidate for folk tales and songs. These stories usually take the structure of the axehound seeing something of value, a piece of bread or the like, and will challenge another animal (usually a chull or a cremling) to a battle of wits. At first it will appears as though the Conch Canin has the upperhand, using some trick to its advantage, but then, just when it seems like the axehound has won, the other animal will start acting like there is a high storm coming, the Canin, losing it’s nerve, will then flee in search of shelter, leaving the other animal to reclaim its prize, as well as something from the axehound. There are numerous variations of the tale, some feature more exotic animals, others end with the axehound winning, and, interestingly, one where there actually was a highstorm, causing the featured chull to pupate and keeping both animals unable to enjoy the fruits of their wit. Note: Recently there have been reports of suspicious persons keeping Conch Canin in cages outside during highstorms. If you witness any such things report it to your local citylord, or captain of the watch immediately.
  8. I was re-reading Kaladin's spear Kata scene and I was wondering how he felt the spears Identity. Y'know how he felt "the spear knew what it needed to do" and how he felt the need to talk to it like Vasher did with his awakenings? Even light weavers don't interact that way with objects, so why can kaladin do it when we haven't even heard of the Nightwatcher nor Cultivation touch him?
  9. This is Phendorana, Teft's spren.
  10. Lift is running away with some food she stole, and Wyndle does not approve.
  11. Here are a set of axehound breeds I drew, let me know what you think. I have a few headcanons about these if you want to learn more about them just ask me which one.
  12. I've drawn a new axehound breed, but I'm at a loss of what to name it. Do you guys have any names, or possibly ideas for origins, trivia, or color scheme of it?
  13. We know that the name axehound was derived from the human's language that was carried over from ashyn. That can only mean that who ever coined the term knew what a houd was. Leads us to two possiblities, either axehounds were alreadyon roshar before the humans came, or a person from shinovar, where ashyn speices stil flourished, saw a domesticated Proto-axehound and named it. So which is it?
  14. From the album: Best in show

Khabranth is known for many things, it's prestigious schools, it's wide renowed surgeons and, suprisingly, its axehounds. Every year Axehound breeders from all across Roshar gather to boast their skill and prowess in the breeds they create. Foremost among them was Dolloc Aveer, a Veden breeder who had won numerous awards for many unique creations. Pictured above is his Magnum opus the "Veden jewel" a breed that dispite it's name is bred from a Thaylen Catch and a Horneater Watcher. Dolloc description of the variety as "gemheart that shines with all ten colors of the rainbow" made it a popular color conversation topic among high ranking lighteyes. Unfortunatly only a few dozen heredity lines of this breed survived to the present era, due to health complication brought by the breeding proccess. Now-a-days, it's not uncommon to hear of a swindler trying to trick some lowborn lighteyes into buying a "lost line" of the breed only for it to turn out to be a cheap imitation.
  15. First ideal edgedancer vs tin eye First ideal windruner vs thung. Third ideal wind run v mistborn era one mental Third ideal mistborn v era one mentals +atium mistborn. 4 ideal wind runner vs mistborn all metals.
  16. It's pretty much exactly what the title suggests; I'm looking for any hints of Hoid having his Cryptic when he shows up in the Wax and Wayne series, which would suggest that he figured out the trick to taking Spren off of Roshar. Any mentions of "strange patterns/markings/symbols" when Hoid is on screen? Or him talking to someone that didn't seem to be there?
  17. From the album: Stormlight Characters

This started out as Vin, but then I decided it looked more like Spensa from Skyward. Then, as I drew Spensa, I decided that it was Syl. Now, it is Syl in her classic, simple dress.
  18. Building from the foundation @Lindel set, me and @voidlightx completed the lyrics for the Stormlight version of the first Hamilton song. It was really fun, and I'm really proud of how it turned out. We are planning on doing a full cast recording if it's possible, so if you want to join, DM me, I'm creating a discord group to coordinate everything. Spoilers through RHYTHM OF WAR. We hope you enjoyed it.
  19. Hi all! I wanted to share a quick cosmere fic that I've been working on today. The idea is that I'm going to do a short character study, between 1,000 and 2,000 words, for each Herald (I've written five of them already). They're generally based between Oathbringer and Rhythm of War. The first chapter is based off of Jezrien! I hope you all enjoy it. All feedback is welcome so long as you're not rude! https://archiveofourown.org/works/29924256/chapters/73652727
  20. Soo after reading Rythm of War I experienced my typical post story blues. Why do great stories have to end :'( So to get over this I do what I normally do. I keep thinking about it, I let the story dwell in my brain I start thinking of what might happen i start playing scenes over in my mind. It was during this period i decided to re-read mistborn and remind myself whats going on in the Cosmere. Then I started thinking y'know what i wonder what it would be like if these two worlds started interacting. i started Imagining Wax and Kaladin having conversations. Wayne trying to teach Shallan about accents and non-illusury disguises. How Adolin would react to Scadrian fashion. Or how a fight between an Allomancer and a Radiant might play out. So i decided hey why not. Now i didn't want to write this like all of a sudden all of my favourite characters are together in one place. I wanted there to be a believable reason as to why shardblades are being waved about in an elendel market. And well that reason got quite dark. and it turned from being a silly what-if thought experiment into a silly Darkest timeline what-if thought experiment. Basically the synopsis is as follows (I will put it under a spoiler banner just in case I accidentally spoil books 1-4) Any and all feedback would be appreciated, I'll put the first part on here the rest I'll put up on AO3.
  21. I wrote the first verse for a song/rap based around the opening song from Hamilton, Alexander Hamilton. I might come back and write some more verses. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improving this verse or what to do with the other verses! (I originally had the line corresponding to "What's your name, man?" as "What's your name, gon?" But it didn't rhyme with "Kaladin, Knight Radiant" or with "what little strength I haven't spent," so I decided to switch it for something that fit better, even though it was fun.) I'm not totally happy with the "Keep them safe," at the end, it doesn't sound quite right, but it's the best I could come up with in the middle of the night. Which is, of course, when it came to me to write this thing. EDIT: This should be in Sanderson Fan Works, sorry. Not sure if there's a way to move it. I also tweaked a few words to make some stuff sound better, and correct a couple typos. (Also, @Cheyenne Sedai and @voidlightx created a completed version, which is pretty amazing! Click here to check it out.)
  22. So here's my idea. Remember how Navani could faintly feel the rhythms only when she was touching a large amount of Stormlight? Thus proving the rhythms really do come from it? Well, in Mistborn, burning Bronze let a Mistborn hear the Rhythms of other allomancers, therefore giving them the ability to tell which metal they were using. Coincidence? Correlation? Thoughts?
  23. Hi! I'm 34 years old, from Portugal and Stormlight Archive is my favorite Fantasy Saga! I first read Sanderson when my girlfriend offered me "Final Empire" and I was immediatly hooked! After I finished the Mistborn Era 1 I tried to find other Sanderson books translated in portuguese (PT-PT) and couldn't find them so I started reading in english. I went through Reckoner Saga, then Way of Kings (wow!). I have read Mistborn Era 2, Elantris and I'm absolutely hooked to Stormlight Archive (finished RoW yesterday). I wish more books were translated so the portuguese got to enjoy all this masterpieces!
