Branderbot 2000's newest novel features a love triangle for our sassy redheaded heroine. In this episode, she goes stepping out with a handsome prince in armour (refer to previous episode, Six Feet of Steel) who is not very smart but is pretty good at beating people up. Does she choose the mysterious shirtless bridgeman Kaladin? Or the well-heeled prince with sacks of spheres? It turns out the prince has mysteries of his own... ...like how he poops in Shardplate.

K so hopefully nobody else has talked about this, (I'm not about to go looking through all of the posts about Elhokar in OB), because I don't want to look stupid. Anyways, I read the Stormlight Archive for the first time this last summer, and after reading all of Brandon's cosmere works, (+Skyward, Rithmatist, etc.), I decided to re-read Stormlight to better participate on here. While reading today, I found this, said by Elhokar... That description sounds an awful lot like pattern when Shallan first sees him in her drawings...If I'm right it means even before Elhokar starting to speak the oaths in OB, (even before any stuff with Wit or whatever that was I don't remember), we had foreshadowing/evidence in PART 4 of WoK, that Elhokar could become a Lightweaver. I really hope no one else has found this and I'm not waaaaaaaay late.

Okay so this is pretty open ended, but while on the Who Do You Want Most Dead thread and the Am I The Only One That... I noticed that... People, including myself really hate Moash, and I think y'all need to vent because I'm seeing it every where. (Myself included...) So go, my friends, RANT.

I bought a new sketchbook today! It's bigger than my other one (which I'll use when I'm not at home) so I have more space to draw ugly rust practice. This is the first page! It's full of mistakes, but I like the looks of this WoK bridgeboy.-

Latest attempt. I'm surprisingly pleased how this turned out, though I'll have to work on my skills on drawing faces/features of different ethnicity.-

From the album: SA Fanart by FelCandy
I've been working on drawing the heralds as a sort of religious iconography set. Ink and metallic pen on watercolor paper, 6"x4" -
I started doing some fanart recently, so I thought I share also here Some Vin and Shallan I plan doing a more detailed fanart series some time, maybe even this year, but otherwise that was a pleasant warmup. Also some Overly Dramatic Kelsier (tumblr request) I also recorded painting those pieces, so I attach the youtube videos on a post below If you like my art, you might want to check Facebook / Tumblr / Instagram / Deviantart / Youtube, whichever suits you the most

Sorry for the title, but I have a few misc. questions, and don't want to create a full topic for each one. If shardblades/honorblades cut the soul, and can kill spren, as seen in Oathbringer, why can't they perma-kill Fused, whereas Nightblood can? On Roshar's Cognitive Realm, we see soul-flames winking out on death, while on Scadrial, they hang around about while Preservation/Harmony talks to them. Is the reason for the Scadrial delay is because Preservation is reclaiming the extra investiture from the temporary cognitive shadow before they pass on? Does the fanbase have any solid theories about how Preservation imprisoned Ruin? I know Kelsier had a theory before it was shot down in Secret History. I guess Leras might have sacrificed his mind to cut off Ati's mind from the bulk of his power, and created Atium to leach Ruin's future-sight, but is there anything concrete? Has there been any indication if the Shards can be held collectively by multiple people, say 10? If so, would this increase the access to the infinite power over that held by one person?

This is a interpretation from a ketek that was uttered before death. It evoked in me something of a mystery first and a reflection, second. Note that this interpretation is not a theory of sorts on the events of cosmere. I was thinking more of Shallan and my struggles when I wrote this and the feelings involved there. This is the link, if anyone's interested: Illuminating storms *I just had to post this because I feel like I had to.

Already posted on the Reddit, but wanted to hear the ideas that people have on here too! In my Development Biology class, our final project is to make a presentation on our favorite humanoids, focusing specifically on 3 morphological differences between the humanoid and humans. I chose the Parshendi as the focus of my project - I want to talk about (1) their ability to grow carapace (when in Warform), (2) the red-black patterning that they have as skin, and (3) their gemhearts. I think I have a fair idea how and what I want to write about for the first 2 things (think of turtle/crab carapace development!), but I am a bit stumped on how to approach the third. Does anyone have any insight into how their gemhearts are formed? Also, anything about how they are born/develop that is in the books would also be appreciated!

I figure it's a long shot, but does anyone here ship Jasnah and Shallan?
Guest posted a topic in Stormlight Archive
I have done so from the begining, but it increased even more when I read a tweet online asking Brandon if he was aware that he made Shallan sound bisexual with her crush on Jasnah, to which he replied that looking back on it, he did it subconciously, and that he was flattered/honored that there were people who saw this in her. I wish so much that it were canon between the two of them. I have read other fantasy novels where a writer would set a character up with another, only to have the relationship not work out, and have them shift to another that does. I wish so bad for that here in this series, to the point of being admittedly militant/irrational, lol! A girl can dream, right? Even though it may never happen, and I am stuck with Shallan/Adolin, I still wish there would come a time in the series that Shallan would throw caution to the wind, out herself to Jashah, and the two could unite together in heart and soul. If anyone can break the ice around jasnah's heart, I firmly believe Shallan can be the one. Please don't hate me....- 19 replies

I'd like to choose this topic to be my introduction to the 17th shard. Out of all the cosmere novels, what particular book and particular quote did hit you truly? Like, you just stop and put the book on your chest because it feels too close to what you are experiencing at the moment?

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement of Hoid. In that sense, Sanderson had been my favorite storyteller. He had broaden my mind and made me rethink my current perspectives of the world's workings especially when I read SA. Was there ever a point like that for you? Mine is certainly Jasnah's statement about the role of a woman. It is after reading the epigraph that I realize that it is truly absurd to even think that there is a certain "role" we must live up to. It is a refreshing persepective and certainly something that I want to adapt as my own.

I made up a version of what I think a baby santhid would look like. This is based off how jellyfish reproduce. -
Can I just say how much I love that I have the same name as Adolin's sword? (Well I mean my name's Maia, (pronounced Maya), but it's close) I can officially say that my name is unique enough to make it into a Cosmere book. Not many people can!

So this is one of my favorite scenes in OB (Chapter 31), with Kaladin deflecting the highstorm, surrounded by windspren. Kind of like Moses opening the Red Sea, eh? XD (Just recovered from the long lull without OB art. There’s just so much to draw!) Something to match this scene:- 2 comments

Does anyone know about where in Tien’s timeline Pattern started bonding with Shallan? I’m trying to figure out if Tien’s potential Cryptic came through to the Physical Realm after Pattern or before.
