  1. Hello, fellow Brandon Sanderson fans! I have no idea what I'm supposed to write here, but oh well... I have read all of the Stormlight Archive books, the first two books of Mistborn, Edgedancer, Steelheart, The Rithmatist, and Skyward. Obviously, I have a couple of Brandon Sanderson books left on my list I found Brandon Sanderson books by my brothers and my dad. They kept ranting about them at the dinner table, so I decided to give them a try. It took a while to get into The Way of Kings at first; the length made it hard to start. As soon as I got into it though, I knew I had to read all of his books! My favorite characters from The Stormlight Archive would probably have to be Wit, Kaladin, or Lift (along with their individual spren); although my favorite right now is Renarin! My favorite character from Mistborn is probably Kelsier (still), and/or Elend. Anyway...Hi!
  2. What power would you most like to see as a new lense/talent/glass?
  3. I’m super excited to delve into this! I just finished Oathbringer and I absolutely LOVED it! I’m so sad my school librarian won’t get it. She says it’s too adult
  4. I recently found this site as in today, well looking for the answer to a question I had about Jasnah and if she covered her safe hand. I found that answer and this site obviously. I am 29 years old and started listening to the Cosmere books a gee months ago and am in love with the series.
  5. Hiya everyone! I'm new to the forum but I've been a fan of Brandon's (is there a fandom tag for that?) for about 4 years. I remember discovering his books while working night-shift and I had to kill the time. I needed to spend my audible credit so filtered for the best rated, longest book they had and, low and behold, up popped Stormlight Archive. From that point I tumbled into the Cosmere and discovered some of the most wonderful stories I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I followed up the first two Stormlight books with the Mistborn books (which are now a favourite). All this culminated with me meeting the creator himself in London when I picked up my hard-copy of Oathbringer. He fist-bumped me. I died. I've since finished Oathbringer and decided it's time to hit the forums! I look forward to engaging with you all and talking about all things Sanderson and beyond. Now let's get the Horneater Lager flowing!
  6. ....hello. my brother tells me the cookies are a no-go? may your sword be sharper and your evil grin even sharperer *glint*
  7. Hello, I am new Not sure what to do with this Inexperienced
  8. Hi all, I started reading Sanderson in the summer and I’ve finally gotten around to making an account on 17th Shard, even though I spend way too much time on this website, when I should be doing something more productive like doing my college homework. I started with Mistborn and then Stormlight, so I still have a lot to read, but it should be a great ride. I’m really looking forward to getting my copy of Oathbringer in the mail tomorrow. Funny thing my roommate checked the mail and said there was two packages today. I slightly hoped one would be mine, but then I remembered it was Monday and not Tuesday. Anyway, I’m rioting anticipation for Oathbringer, then subsequently anticipationspren appear around all of us. It’s not like they weren’t there before. I’m just a trouble maker. I should be more helpful and riot patience so we can all last until tomorrow, but hey who wants to be patient? I’m glad to be apart of this crazy community.
  9. Hi, I'm new to the site and am a HUGE fan of the Stormlight Archive. I really liked this site with all of the theories and have wanted to actually find people that like these books as much as me.
  10. I'm really excited to get into the 17th shard.
  11. Hello! So I have started reading Sanderson's book very recently and I am absolutely addicted. So far I have gotten through: Mistorn Trilogy Warbreaker Stormlight Archive 1 and 2. I am about to go shopping for my next Sanderson book and cannot wait. While I am here, do you have any recommendation for my next book, to get a better grasp of the cosmere? I want to theorize but do not want to come across any spoilers yet in case I ruin my next book. Great to be here, I do think I will stick around! Entropy
  12. I have been a fan for almost 2 years now, and I am finally making a profile on here, hopefully keeping it recent. I am very interested in the mistborn magic system, and all the other magic systems for that reason. I am slowly uncovering small things that might have been overlooked in the books, but ill have to see if anyone else picked up on them yet.
  13. Hello! Figured it was time to join the ranks on the 17th Shard. I've read everything in the cosmere, and am working on finishing Arcanum Unbounded right now. Haven't read any of Alcatraz, but I'm not sure if that's part of the continuum. Someone let me know if it is. I'm fascinated by the interconnected nature of the worlds in the cosmere, and their strikingly simple explanations leading into chaotic, beautiful ages of story. Glad to join you on your journeys through this universe. I'll be around.
  14. Hello all, I am a long time lurker first time poster, and I am looking forward to contributing to this community I have read all of Brandon's published Cosmere works and have a few theories boiling in the back of my mind. I was having trouble creating my account (wouldn't send conformation email) and eventually ended up emailing someone higher up at the website so thank you to who ever fixed the issue I was having (still never got the confirmation email, just checked the shard one day and bam my account was there). Anyways, Looking forward to posting! also @Yata has been one of my favorite posters so far, thanks for being such a knowledgeable Cosmere scholar
  15. Hello to everyone in the Sanderson Cosmere! My name is Almira and I became a fan after reading the Wheel of Time books. I moved from WoT to Stormlight Archive. I have been hooked on Sanderson ever since! I saw an advertisement for the 17th shard in the jacket of a Mistborn book (Shadows of Self). Now here I am! A new member on the forum!
  16. Yes, this is not who you are looking for, fellow Sanderfans. But hello, I'm voidyhoid, that person who's obsessed with ALL the Brandon Sanderson books. They're so good that I can't stop rereading them so often. Ah, anyway, I'll be seeing you around a lot now. I've been waiting to join the forums for a long time.

    Well Howdy Do!

Howdy, folks! Just joining up after hearing Brandon mention the site at a recent signing. I started out in the Fantasy world with C. S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia (in 6th grade), moving on to J. R. R. Tolkien and the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings (high school freshman year), moving then to Terry Brooks and Shannara and Landover (the rest of high school), then to Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time (senior year of high school, when Crown of Swords came out in paperback, until the end), which naturally introduced me to Brandon's work while I was in college. Now look at me, several years later, with a wonderful, large family, a steady career of a dozen years (seriously--I'm guessing a lot of us here are computer nerds), and even though I've branched out into non-fiction research topics, I still love to come home to some good ol' fantasy to relax at the end of the day. Or any time during the day, like while walking to work, or taking a break from work, or during lunch break at work... Honestly, I'd rather just read all day.
  18. Hey everyone! I've been a fan of Brandon Sanderson for awhile now, and I've read most of his works. I am a huge fan of the Cosmere books! I actually own at least two copies of most of them(an audiobook and phyisical copy). I'm pretty sure I'm the only Cosmere fan within a 50 mile radius, so I joined this site so I can have somewhere to go and chat with fellow Cosmere
  19. Hello, I am new to this wonderful community, though I'm lucky to have a smaller one in my area. I discovered Brandon Sanderson maaaybe a year ago? When my friend recommended Mistborn to me, and since then I've made my way through every book except the Rithmatist, which I own, and Firefight, which I mourn not owning. I look forward to finally meeting people just as interested in these worlds as myself and delving into the world of theory and discussion. Applying my English major to fun instead of work!
  20. Hi eeveryone. I'm Aidulin, and I just read a Brandon Sanderson book for the first time. I'm hooked, I think. The one I read was The Rithmatist, and there's only one so far in that series, so I was wondering which series you guys think I should read next? I know you'll all have ideas, but I want to get to know this fanbase a little better.
  21. Just an introduction to say I exist and that yes I love reading Mr. Sanderson's work. I chose the name Mistwannabeborn as I would love to live in the world of Mistborn and be able to have the powers of a Mistborn! I was introduced to Mr. Sandersons work with the book Steelheart. I was bringing a bunch of boys to a retreat in Ohio and it was a 7 hour drive and I looked on Audible for a young adult novel that would entertain the boys. Wow was I ever exposed to what a story could be! The 7 hours on the way out went in what seemed a flash. Now we had to wait for the retreat to end so we could pack our bags head home and listen to the rest. Suffice it to say we barely completed it in time and the boys loved it. It was the first experience I had with Brandon and not my last. My family listened to the Rithmatist when we went on vacation this past summer and again was not disappointed. I have just completed the first two books of Mistborn and I'm in the middle of the last of the first trilogy now. I am looking forward to delving into the Stormlight Archive series and Firefight next. Keep up the great writing as you have me as a faithful reader from this point on... Hoping to read how others felt about reading the mistborn series and look forward to their thoughts on the series
  22. Hi everyone! I am a somewhat new Brandon Sanderson fan, I have only read "Mistborn" and "The Well of Ascension" and loved them both! I can't wait to move on to The Hero of Ages, but I think I've already decided Sanderson is my favorite author! I have already bought Elantris, and The Way of Kings and will most likely stick to the Cosmere books. And that's another thing that fascinates me about Sanderson, the Cosmere. I can't wait to read more of his books so I can understand it better!
  23. Well hello fellow Roshar...ians? Rosharites?, My name is Hearthebeard and I have just finished Way of Kings and Words of Radiance at a blistering pace, though that is all of Sanderson's work that I have read. I love the mythos of this world, though just from perusing this site, it is evident that much more information about this universe is available in his other books. Which should I read? And in what order? Life before Death, Radiants.
