  1. F-electrum seems pretty neat, and if it can induce a Flow state it's going to be a really good ability (I'm still learning about Flow, but from what I can tell right now, it's just really awesome). Unfortunately, it requires the practitioner to drain themselves of determination to use its benefits, which is a pretty strong limitation unless one just happens to be a natural electrum Compounder or has figured out how to deal with Hemalurgic Identity contamination. But there is another way to hack F-electrum. So stupidly easy in fact that basically any Pinnacle Ferring could use this; just hire a Rioter to amplify your determination so you can store it. That's literally it. Feruchemists can store things that directly affect their attributes, such as a Bronze Ferring being able to store the wakefulness granted by caffeine or a Pewter Ferring being able to store A-pewter's strength boost. And since determination is an emotion explicitly stated in the Coppermind Wiki to be something a Rioter can directly affect (link here), it would be incredibly easy for them to Riot an electrum Ferring, allowing them to have large stores of determination to tap at any time they wanted. EDIT: you know, there are Soothers that can be hired at parlors for relaxing people, but could Rioters be hired out to make a workplace more productive? It doesn't seem like the employees or the employers would object after all; the employees get to feel great as Emotional Allomancy boosts their happiness and determination while the employers benefit from higher overall productivity. Sounds like a great way for a Rioter to make some money.
  2. Okay, quick crash course in Feruchemy. Store iron to become half as heavy for 10 minutes, tap iron to become twice as heavy for 10 minutes later on. Greater heights reached with greater compression of Investiture, though some is lost to facilitate said compression. Good? Good. Allomantic Duralumin exists. So, extrapolating from this, A Duralumin Gnat who is also a Ferring may be able to tap their metalmind, then burn A-Duralumin for an enormous burst of instant Feruchemical power. And, if I am theorizing correctly, since it is the Duralumin provides the compression factor, nothing should be lost in the Feruchemy system. After all, A-Duralumin utilizes Investiture (never explicitly stated, but what else would it be?) to release all Allomantic potential in a single action. For Vin and Elend, this meant controlling Hemalurgic constructs. For Wax and Dumad, this meant enormously powerful Steelpushes. We have also seen A-Duralumin cave in human skulls, completely suppress a human's emotions, and stop time itself. What would this mean for Feruchemy? Well, not much, beyond a more efficient expression of Investiture, but hey, every little bit helps. This would make Duralumin a more useful metal for Twinborn, even if Mistings will have to cope. This also furthers my mission in showcasing the utility of every Allomantic metal, even the less obviously useful ones. Except Aluminum. That will never change.
  3. We saw in BoM that the Malwish medallion tech can be used to allow people to store with Feruchemical iron even when asleep, as the medallions have an Identity and awareness of their own; I think that this could be amazingly convenient if it could be extended towards other Feruchemical attributes, as then you would be able to ignore the worst of the side effects while still being able to benefit from the stored attributes later. Compounding may not even be necessary in later eras of Scadrial if they could just have enough donors store attributes this way. Mental speed, physical speed, strength, Fortune, determination, senses, Investiture, and Connection would all be way easier to get ahold of if you were sleeping the eight hours of being 40-60% underpowered away. It would barely be an inconvenience in most cases, to be honest. EDIT: alright @alder24, I'm going to summon your attention to this topic directly, as it somehow seems to have slipped past your notice. How's it wrong?
  4. Tattoos carry various partials of metals in their ink depending on their color, such as copper (blue), iron and cadmium (red), chromium and aluminum (green), zinc (white and yellow). Does this mean that you could potentially use a tattoo with Allomantically viable metals as an exotic Metalmind that cannot easily be removed or destroyed? Additionally, we've seen from Wax that Metalmind implants must be immune to oxidization, otherwise his Ironmind implants would have poisoned him. So would a Tattoomind (Skinmind? Designmind? What's a good name for it?) be more accepted by the body and not cause irritation and possible infection like regular tattoos? I also imagine you could add more metal to the mix than a regular tattoo if you wanted (for more Feruchemical storage), as you wouldn't need to worry about it poisoning you due to its Invested nature.
  5. I just finished reading secret history and I started thinking about the origin of the metallic arts. We know that the original allomancers were created from burning lerasium and that hemalurgists are created from their rituals, but as far as I'm aware there isn't a definitive origin to Feruchemy. I'm pretty sure Feruchemy is a combination of Preservation's and Ruin's investitures, think Sezed said something about this but I can't remember anything beyond him saying that it was end neutral for the power it gives. It is passed down, but if we can assume it's anything like allomancy, it was probably given to the ancestors of the terrace packmen. I can't imagine how it would have been given to them though. The first idea that came to my head was burning harmonium, but not only is that not chronologically possible, if that was the origin of Feruchemy I think it would have come up near the end of era 2 considering how much harmonium was thrown around by the end. The only logical thing I can think of is that Preservation and Ruin worked together to create it when they first created life. If we know this and I'm just unaware I'd like to be informed, but if not I'd like to hear other theories as to where Feruchemy comes from.
  6. Steelrunners are a bit wonky in how they deal with physics (like F-iron); they are able to resist the force of the Gs put on their body from moving quickly, but aren't able to endure the extra heat caused by friction or air compression. The thing that I'm confused on right now is that F-steel is somewhat temporal in nature (i.e., they can even Allomantically burn their metals faster), which probably means their interaction with physical objects is similar to that of A-Bendalloy. Does this mean that if a Steelrunner punched an enemy while tapping 3x their normal speed that it still wouldn't hit with any more force than if they hadn't tapped speed, similar to how A-Bendalloy siphons off the extra energy of things that enter and exit it? What if they instead picked up a club and swung it at an enemy at 3x speed? It's not technically effected by their Feruchemy (F-steel being completely internal as opposed to A-Bendalloy), so the extra speed shouldn't be siphoned off no matter how Feruchemical speed works. But if this is the case, would the Steelrunner have to put 3x the strength into swinging it, making it much, much harder to actually use their speed? And if part of a Steelrunner's adaptation of their Spritweb to the use of steel Feruchemy is to enhance their strength to deal with this difficulty with interacting with objects at high speed, would this contribute to a Steelrunner's Feruchemical attribute being overall less efficient than other Feruchemical powers, as more Investiture must be siphoned off to deal with the consequences of using that power?
  7. Well, I have officially returned to the Shard, and I’ve decided to revive an old flame. While I think the Random Twinborn Combos thread has run its course, I still think there are unanswered questions to still address. Namely: what metals and abilities are the best? So this will be a daily thread regarding the feruchemy side of things, aka the more interesting side of the question. We’ll be going by the feruchemy table, so that means starting with F-Iron and working our way down. For simplicity’s and relevance’s sake, I’ll be assuming the person in question is a Ferring, and not a twinborn, feruchemist, or hemalurgist. As always, I welcome and actively request your thoughts. At the end of it all, I will create a ranking that we can pick apart. So without further ado, let’s get started! Daily Feruchemy Analysis Day 1: F-Iron wow we are starting off with a banger. This is probably the most documented metal we have, with a whole four books of pov to go off of. It also happens to be really rusting powerful. Obviously this has nice effects with many allomantic metals, but that’s not what this is about. What can this do on its own? well, a lot of things really. While storing, you can make yourself very light, which means you can survive any fall and, presumably, move faster in general, as your muscles are moving a lower body weight than it’s used to. Now, I don’t think you’ll be crazy fast, but probably faster than normal. Plus, storing weight is almost certainly going to be the initial basis of space travel. So there’s that too. Oh, and the possibility of being a decent investiture to energy machine. Tapping weight gets interesting. As we’ve seen from Wax, it makes you a pseudo-pewterarm. Strategically tapping to tank hits and to deliver power hits. Great stuff. Frankly, I don’t think there needs to be much more analysis on this. Relatively straightforward metal, with both martial and common uses. Certainly crazy scientific uses. Overall just a really good metal to have, and certainly very strong. Rating: 8.5/10. Awesome stuff.
  8. As I understand it, the reason souls don't stick around after death for so long is due to a lack of viable Connections to the Realms. This can be negated as you could Invest yourself enough to give yourself some viable Connection (I think that's why the Investiture trick works anyway). Does this mean that a Connector Ferring could tap enough Connection to an ally who died near them to act as a functional anchor to the Physical Realm, letting the deceased person's spirit persist longer than normal in the CR, perhaps even letting them endure as long as the Connection can be sustained (i.e., theoretically an indefinite length of time)? Also, would all that Connection allow the deceased person to speak and interact with the living person? Yumi spoilers; You'd probably need Compounding to make any of this work though, as I imagine you'd need a strong Connection.
  9. What does feruchemically storing investiture do exactly? Does it give you more raw power that could be channeled? Does hemalurgically stealing it bump up all the powers they already have by a little bit because they have more investiture in their bodies? Is it like Connection, but you're Connecting to a shard? Has Brandon told us anything about it, or left it a RAFO? Does anyone know? Also, if anyone has any theories, I would love to know those. This just like grabbed my mind and isn't letting go. This just occurred to me, would it be like breaths from Warbreaker? Because that's just extra Investiture stapled onto someone, so would it raise someone to, say, the first heightening for a short amount of time after being like a drab for a week or something.
  10. We know that you can't store 100% of an attribute, but does anything stop you from storing 9999999999999999999999/10000000000000000000000 of your hearing ability for a short time, then fill up your entire metalmind incredibly fast. Of course for some things, like health, you might die instantly, but not for a lot of them. There must be a reason this doesn't work of course, otherwise Sazed wouldn't have needed to store eyesight for a long period of time. Any WoB?
  11. As said in the title, this cult will have potential Cosmerogical spoilers, most likely pertaining to Mistborn (but could be from other books or series as well). As the Emperor of Health, I shall order upon our soon-to-grow numbers that we use spoiler boxes for non-Mistborn material, in order to be friendly with newcomers, or only reference it vaguely enough to not spoil important plotlines. I shall thank the Overlord of Senses, @Koloss17, for giving me the inspiration and idea to craft this community. On that note, I shall establish an alliance, potentially temporarily, with all members of the Cult of Senses. Come in, relax, and embrace sickness and Health. Currently, I have no opinion on any other Feruchemical, Allomantic, or Hemalurgical Cult. However, as long as you don't cause trouble and make us waste the valuable Health in our ever-expansive Goldminds, we don't care (yes, you may spy on us). On that note, let me dive into the reason this cult exists. As Emperor of Health, it is my duty to provide all with reasons to join this wonderful Cult- and the first and foremost is survivability. Health is a valuable thing to any living creature's life, no matter where it is from. Animals of the lowest intelligence to entities of the highest all respect and value the Health of themselves and others. From disease to plagues, from scratches to dismemberment, we can heal all. Our Goldminds may be pricey, but people's lives, as stated by one powerful war general, are priceless. It is a great bargain to be able to buy one's life back with only gold. Indeed, it is surprising the amount of power a simple earring, bracelet, or wristband will hold. You may stay weak for a week, in order to recover from a lost limb. You may gain a cold or sore throat, in order to shrug off a nasty gash. Even greater, you may stay weak and frail for maybe even a year- in order to heal back the wounds from a Hemalurgical attack or other Spiritual damage. Indeed, even the power of a (Stormlight / Warbreaker) Any damage at all, we shall stay strong as you store and recover in order to embrace true Health. There are a few rules to being a member of the Cult of Health, but do not fret, they are not many. First and foremost, we seek not violence. Of course, we will also not tolerate any sort of harmful language towards one another, as even Cognitive damage we'd like to heal. On that note, we will not allow any religious insults, and we seek not to replace any person's religion, as the Cult of Health has no true religion. We wish for all members of our Cult of Health, and even members outside of it, to stay as healthy as possible- Physically, Cognitively, and Spiritually with some leeway for those who are storing. Speaking of, our second rule: We care for the injured, sick, or otherwise unwell. Whatever plagues one's body, mind, or soul, we seek to heal and care for. Whether it is a simple cold that is ruining your day, or a sore throat making you feel unwell, we will sympathize as you heal. Whether it is a stressful day at your place of work or a bad argument with a close friend, we will give advice and help you relax. Or maybe a moral dispute, threatening your very worldview, has you panicked and confused? Be not afraid, we are here for comfort and Health. Third, as the Overlord of Senses mentioned, we seek to improve all from a state of Unhealth, but in order to do that, many of us will seek Unhealth to prepare and embrace it. Health cannot be understood without Unhealth, and Unhealth cannot be feared without Health. We must experience both in order to truly be a part of the Cult. Even if you only experienced it years ago, you still know that state of Unhealth- and that proves a valuable resource, as it lets you be truly grateful for our Health. Overall, we seek not to waste the Health of any individual. We spread comfort to all members, and the only thing we frown upon is those who willingly hurt others, in any way. As the Emperor of Health, though, I also promote forgiveness- if a member were to accidentally harm another or an outsider, a simple apology should set everything right. I am very new to leading a Cult, and am afraid I may not be the greatest leader- so any additional rules you'd like to add, whether relating to our capabilities or our mindset in relation to others shall be accepted. I seek to grow this group into a wonderful community, but even if I stand alone, I will be happy promoting health. Please do not think of my words as offensive if they offended you, and instead, give advice for improvement.
  12. I had been wondering how the weakening of Feruchemy worked for Hemalurgy for a while, whether the Hemalurgic Feruchemist could store less of an attribute or whether the taping was simply less effective. Well, I just found a WoB that tells us: It's an efficiency deal, meaning that a Feruchemist who gained their powers via Hemalurgy would store the same amount of Investiture as another Feruchemist, they just get less effect out of what they tap. Maybe not a big deal to some, but this answers a few questions for me and I thought it worth sharing.
  13. I've been wondering about a few WOBs and the nature of Metalminds/Spikes as containers of Investiture. We know that if you stored into an Ironmind and alloyed it into steel, you wouldn't be able to access the Physical Weight stored within. Same thing with Spikes. But what if you didn't alloy them? What if you just merged two Ironminds/Spikes into one? For Feruchemy you'd likely just get a Metalmind that two different Feruchemists can access without blanking Identity beforehand. But what about Hemalurgy? If you merged two charged Iron Spikes together, would you get a stronger spike that counts as a single spike or as two spikes?
  14. We know that Tin Allomancers can see through the Mist better than they should due to Allomancy and the Mists both being of Preservation, so I'm wondering if Tin Feruchemists could do the same thing to Harmony's Mists in Era 2 due to Feruchemy and the new Mists both being of Harmony?
  15. This one get my attention. Mainly: Why Steelmind? From feruchemical properties, I would suspect that best metalmind for using as computers woild be either Copperminds (memory storage) or Zincminds (mental speed storage). Is this simply convinience? Steelmind stores Speed, so will be vital part of ship's drive, but why use it also as computer? BTW, when I learned about Scadrians Space Ships, many years ago, my theory was that ship itself is sort of alive, having hemalurgic spike in his main computer and.this is why can use Metaloc Arts. Seems like I was partialy right (they use Awakening, not Hemalurgy, but effect may be the same).
  16. Feruchemical Bendalloy can store water and nutrients inside a Metalmind. But what are the limits of this? Most importantly to this topic, since an Allomancer can sort of metabolize metal, could they store metals they swallowed in a Bendalloymind? If they could, it would be a way to drastically increase their Allomantic reserves whilst keeping them highly portable. It also might be a way to bypass Leeching to an extent, since only Metalminds being currently tapped can be Leeched- the Allomancer could just tap a Bendalloymind for a hit of metal after being Leeched and then stop tapping to prevent their Metalminds from being Leeched. You could also use duralumin (if they had a Hemalurgic spike providing its use) in bursts and replace your metal reserves in the blink of an eye, all without needing to hassle with vials or canteens. I now really, really like this idea.
  17. I'd been toying with new Twinborn ideas in my head, and think I have something moderately exciting. Picture this: a Slider (or Pulser) enters a room with a hefty supply of their according metal. They activate a time bubble, then sit down and begin tapping brass. They would do this either for a significant amount of time or at a very large tapping rate, until the Twinborn has reached a significant body temperature (for the sake of this conversation, 500° Fahrenheit, or 260° Celsius). The Twinborn in question will then drop the time bubble. The idea is that the heat generated from the brassmind will transfer from the body of the Twinborn will transfer to the surrounding air. The amount of surrounding air, however, should be limited by the time bubble, and thus the heat should be trapped within the bubble's confines. Dropping the bubble, then, should remove the barrier, and allow the heat to rush into the room. If enough heat is trapped by the Twinborn, the process could be more than mildly violent. I have a few questions on this: Is this theory watertight? Does it actually make sense? If so, would this function with either External Temporal metal, or only one of the two? Which one? How effective would this theoretical attack be? My current thought is that only a Bendalloy bubble would work for this. The way I see it, the bubble wouldn't really stop heat from leaking through, but the rate of transfer should be affected by the temporal manipulation. If the time outside the speed bubble is slowed down significantly, whatever heat escapes the bubble should be trapped right outside of it. We know that when Wayne throws up a speed bubble, everything outside practically freezes, depending on how much he flares the metal. The heat should then collect outside the bubble, also serving to prevent excess heat escaping. After all, the Laws of Thermodynamics determine that heat seeks to make cold matter warm (I have overly simplified it, but that's basically it), so that any heat stopped in time outside the bubble would act as a buffer to the heat inside the bubble. Regardless, any thoughts?
  18. I had considered using Feruchemy to enhance Hemalurgy's use before, but I figured that it wouldn't work because the augmentations provided by it were only temporarily formed by an influx of Kinetic Investiture. That would mean that spiking the attribute the Feruchemist was tapping would have no bearing on the Invested charge of the spike. Only, I just remembered this WoB that states that such a thing is possible with a temporary change to the Spiritweb, such as with Forgery; I now believe this means that at least temporary spiritual Feruchemical enhancements (and not just Blanking Identity) can alter the creation of Hemalurgic spikes, as they should fall under the same parameters as Forgery. I'm not certain about the other quadrants of Feruchemy though, as they may not alter the Spiritweb enough to be spiked out (kind of like how F-Atium is only physical change and not a spiritual one). So, what could we do by combining spiritual Feruchemy and Hemalurgy? Aluminum: this one has been mostly explored before on the Forums, as the Blanking of Hemalurgic spikes may be able to be achieved by Blanking the Identity of a Donor during the spiking process. I do wonder whether you could possibly tap someone else's Identity temporarily and then spike out something from them that is specifically Keyed to the new Identity. Doing so could create a spike more efficiently tethered to the bearer's Spiritweb to let them Compound, use their powers more efficiently (WoB says that a Blanked Identity Metalmind tapped by a Blanked person would be slightly more efficient than a Blanked Metalmind with a non-Blanked person, hence the reasoning that a spike could work the same), and maybe allow for the creation of Resonances with Hemalurgy. This may require jumping through some hoops to manage, but maybe it could work. I'd still take it with a healthy dose of skepticism as we don't know a ton about Identity yet. Nicrosil: this is probably the biggest one there is. If you could augment your Allomancy with F-nicrosil and if you could spike that enhancement out, you could create spikes bearing tremendous power with relative ease. After all, storing, say, your A-pewter fully for a week and tapping it all in a brief moment while having it spiked out would create a Hemalurgic spike holding many, many times the standard power of a Pewterarm. I think that it also may be possible to have a non-Invested person tap an Unsealed Nicrosilmind, then spike the temporary power out of them, eliminating the need to spike a true Allomancer or Feruchemist at all. I'm a lot less certain about this possibility though, as the medallions that the Southern Scadriens use have been compared to the Honorblades (WoB, and WoB #2), which don't tie into the Spiritweb very effectively, which may very well prevent Hemalurgy from taking medallion-granted powers (though natural or Hemalurgic Feruchemical augmentations may still be on the table, as they are directly embedded into the Spiritweb). Duralumin: Hemalurgic spikes take a measure of the Donor's Identity along with whatever else is spiked out, such as their Allomantic or Feruchemical powers. I think that if the donor tapped Connection to a specific entity (or object, place, time, etc.) and the proper Intent and Command was used that Connection could be taken along with the spike (or a portion of it anyway) and grafted onto the spike bearer along with the standard power. This could potentially allow for a permanent web of Connections to be formed amongst a group of Hemalurgists by using a cental hub for all of them to Connect to, similar to how all Aetherbound are Connected to their respective Aether. If there isn't enough Connection that can be taken with a power spike, H-duralumin could probably be used to achieve the effect. Chromium: this one is by far the most mysterious of the Hemalurgic metals. It, apparently, can steal one's destiny, though it's the only thing on the Hemalurgy table that isn't guaranteed. I personally believe that this "destiny" is just a form of Fortune, though one that is specifically tied to an individual and what their Fortune would prompt them to do. The reason it isn't guaranteed is because the spike bearer would have their own destiny interfereing with the new one, potentially causing them to ignore their new fate. I think that tapping Fortune with Feruchemy would therefore effect the stolen Destiny, likely making it much easier to read it and lessen the chance it gets overlooked. Alright, that's all I can come up with now. Anyone else got some more ideas or comments/arguments to be made?
  19. This is a sister poll to one I did recently on the pure metals. This time around, I wanna see just the alloys. Certainly easier than the pure metals, but I’m curious to see how it shakes out. And I’ve got a few more tricks in my back pocket. If you had to be a Metalborn of alloys, which would you choose and why?
  20. I read this somewhere in wob where he said that nicrosil can be used to store Devine breath of a returned. Then i started thinking let's say there is a full feruchemist with knowledge of hemalurgy. He can steal the devine breath of a returned through hemalurgy and give himself fifth heightening through hemalurgic spike and then he put that Investiture in his nicrosil metalmind by filling it and then remove the hemalurgic spike and heal himself with gold metalmind. Healing both his physical body as well as his spiritweb. Although the healing of his spiritweb won't be absolute but atleast there won't be a hole in his spiritweb (which cannot be exploited by anyone) that is caused by hemalurgy. If it's possible then why not also steal other ability to use a certain magic and store that in your nicrosil metalmind. This method could give you powers without a big disadvantage of hemalurgy.
  21. I need to know if I'm missing something or if this just works. If someone were to be a Nicroburst Misting and Soulbearer Ferring would they not be able to gain infinite amounts of investiture? They could store some limited amount of investiture, eat the metal mind, and because of what we know regarding compounding, could end up with 10x the investiture they put in. Could they not then return the newly gained investiture into a new metal mind and repeat and therefore "farm" investiture. Furthermore does this not break the First Law of Investiture, "Investiture can not be created or destroyed. It follows it's own version of the laws of Thermodynamics.". And if it is not breaking this law would it just be taking more and more investiture from the Shards of Preservation and Ruin? What stops this person from taking all the investiture in the shard and effectively becoming the shard? I guess my question is do we know how exactly Nicrosil Compounders will work?
  22. This is a theory that has been brewing in my head for some time, concerning Steel Compounders. While extremely powerful, an effective limit is placed in the form of air resistance. Thus, they cannot tap too much speed, lest they literally burn up. While an interesting case study of Sanderson's Second Law of Magic, I have always found it to be frustrating. So, I started thinking of ways to circumvent this issue. This is no novelty. Many have already conceptualized combining the [Stormlight Archive Spoiler] with Steel Compounding, which would be an effective way of going about eliminating the issue. However, such inter-planetary interaction isn't likely to occur for some time. So I started thinking of ways to make Steel Compounding safer using only things available on Scadrial. This leads to my theory. Could a Steel Compounder take a brass medallion (or a brass spike) and begin storing heat? With the use of heat Feruchemy, all heat generated by the air resistance would be siphoned away, preventing any damage to the Compounder. With enough metalminds, no heat would linger long enough to pose any threat, allowing the Steelrunner to speed up. Of course, the faster the Compounder goes, the more heat will be generated. This may eventually prove too much for the limited nature of Feruchemical storage. However, the Steelrunner would not be forced to last long. Eventually, they should be able to accelerate enough to break the sound barrier, thus ceasing the accumulation of heat. This is how I think Steel Compounding can emerge even more powerful than before. What's worse, Hemalurgy isn't even necessary. Southern Scadrian medallions solve that problem quite beautifully. I do not know if this theory is sound, so feel free to comment below with any corrections or counterarguments. ~Longshot97
  23. There was a creative challenge that my friend told me and I wanted to share here (feel free to do it if you want to): Basically you are coming up with 2 (you can do more but best to go with an even number 2,4,6,8 etc...) new metals which are fully functioning for the metallic arts. Criteria is bullet pointed below: The metals and their alloys must exist in real life (no god metals) Metals can belong to any of the four quadrants (physical, mental/cognitive, temporal/hybrid or enhancement/spiritual) but both the pure metal and its alloy must belong to the same one. Same goes for external/internal. You cannot make up your own quadrants to categorize them in. The pure metal must be a "pull" metal and its alloy must be a "push" metal. The metals must have an allomantic, feruchemical and hemalurgic power which fit with their quadrants Their hemalurgic power cannot grant allomantic or feruchemical powers. i.e. must be a human attribute <optional> The metal has a kandra blessing with a name. i.e. Blessing of <insert name of blessing here> Come up with a misting and ferring name for each metal. For example, here is my own creation (hidden for those that don't really care and for length):
  24. Mild era 2 spoilers: For those who don’t know, each shard has a God Metal associated with it (Lerasium, Atium, Raysium, etc.), and Harmony’s God Metal is Harmonium, or Ettmetal. Ettmetal is very hard to experiment with, due to it exploding whenever it comes in contact with water, and its Allomatic, Feruchemical, and Hemalurgical abilities are all unknown. I have no idea what its abilities in Allomancy or Hemalurgy would be, but I think anyone could store something in a Ettmetal metalmind, and storing would have no effect, but tapping would make you a full Feruchemist. The main reason I think this is how Atium and especially Lerasium work. Those are the god metals of Ruin and Preservation, which both are associated with magic systems, Hemalurgy and Allomancy. When Lerasium is burned (it can be burned by anyone) it turns the burner into a Mistborn, and an Atium spike steals any power, the crux of what Hemalurgy is. In both of those examples, using a God Metal in the Metallic art associated with it makes you able to use all of the more minor powers associated with (doesn’t fit exactly with Hemalurgy). So, I think Ettmetal has the same effect on Feruchemy. My theory is also somewhat supported by this WoB:
  25. I read this quote awhile ago, and it made me think about another use for F-nicrosil. There are two ways to interpret that, from what I can tell; either a Feruchemist with a weakened power "leaks" some small extra amount of attribute when they store, meaning that their Metalminds get filled with slightly less Investiture than what the Feruchemist gave up. So, for example, a Feruchemist who spent 60 minutes storing 20% of their strength in a Pewtermind would only really have 59-58 minutes worth of attribute stored in the Metalmind if they were somehow to tap it with perfect efficiency. A Feruchemist who gained their powers via Hemalurgy would be even worse- their power is weakened. However, the second interpretation interests me more; what if the attribute in the Metalmind is equal to what the Feruchemist stored, but when the Feruchemist taps that attribute it is simply less efficient; they may store 60 minutes worth of attribute, but when they tap it they lose some due to entropy. If you want to know whether this is actually possible via Cosmere rules, look no further than the SA. SA spoilers, in case you somehow weren't aware If the second interpretation holds true, then a Full Feruchemist (or anybody who had F-nicrosil and another Feruchemical power through some means) who stored their ability to use their other powers might be able to tap at much higher rates and suffer significantly less loss of Investiture due to attribute compression. They could store their ability to use their powers when not actively tapping or storing those powers, which would be pretty easy in comparison to the other attributes such as strength, health, or speed. Maybe this wouldn't be as crazy as Compounding, but I think that it could have some serious potential.
