Hello! I’m Spideyninja (not really). I don’t exactly know what I’m suppose to do here, but the prompt said something about introductions and discussions, so I’ll introduce myself then start a discussion. I enjoy comic books and many comic book movies, though there are many I do not enjoy. I first started reading Sanderson when I was in highschool and found The Reckoners series. At the time I didn’t even know that the author had other books or series, and I didn’t really get into Brandon’s work until I started watching Shadiversity, and read his epic fantasy book, Shadow of the Conqueror (great book btw). After hearing Shad praise the Mistborn books, I dove into that series and from there eagerly explored the rest of the Cosmere. A big reason I’m so intrigued by the Stormlight Archive is that I myself suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder, and it’s fascinating to me learning about other people’s perspectives on the condition. As for the discussion I promised, I’ve recently been philosophizing about the nature of justice (probably largely due to the fact that one of my alters committed a heinous crime, and I’ve been struggling with what to think of myself since turning myself in) and I have reached a conclusion I believe to be true. However I love hearing other people’s opinions as they help me to define and strengthen my own beliefs, so I want to know; how would you define the word justice, or the concept behind it?

Hello, friends! As many of you know, I compete in many speech events as well as team policy debate, and I have found there are some very... unique situations that happen when participating in this kind of thing. For example, when you need to go to the bathroom really really really badly during a debate because you drank thirteen gallons of coffee because you decided to pull an all nighter working on your case, but you can't leave the round unless you want to waste all of the prep time you have left. Or, when you wake up in a room surrounded by moms with their arms crossed, to find that you've been captured by the Compliance Ninjas (a joke... mostly). Or, when you ascend from a research cave (or debate cave, depending on what you call it) and feel like Dr. Mannette being freed from prison from the first time in eighteen long years, barely coherent to society. Or, when you sprint all the way across a college campus (during a tournament) to your extemp room hoping and praying you get there in time because you misread the building names on the map and went to the wrong one. Just some purely hypothetical situations. What are some crazy things that have happened to you, my fellow speech and debaters? Do you like this year's debate resolution? Which is best, parli, Policy, Lincoln Douglas, or some other form of debate? What kind of speeches do you like best? Do you think they should bring back duo impromptu or trio interpretation speeches, or if they have them in your league, have you ever tried it?

So hi, this is my first new topic that I have posted. I'm a huge Brandon Sanderson fan. I have read everything that he has released and will continue to do so until I am an old man. I have gotten at least 20 different people into Brandon's work so far. I basically recoommend him to everyone I talk to regularly. My strategy is to talk a lot about his books and slowly get them to agree to red one of them. I start them off with Mistborn and move them on to The Stormlight Archive (It's a lot harder to get people to commit to a 1000 page book without being a fan). So recently, I got a new job and I have been working my strategy on the guy who sits next to me. I got him to start Mistborn. This is what is baffling me, he didnt love it and he thinks that Brandon is a bad writer. Not describing enough of the world, not cring about the characters, he named several other things. This is just crazy to me!!! Mistborn was amazing! It got Harriet to have him finish WoT! So this guy, he is way way way smarter than I am. He talks about a lot of things that are over my head, he's like a literary critic! So what can I do to defend my favorite author? What can I tell him about the improvements Brandon has made as a writer to get him to read Way of Kings? I'm just not smart enough to debate with him, i need help! Thanks for anyone who takes the time to read my pointless post.

So as not to hijack the other thread any more, I moved the debate here. Here is the page with the previous debates. Which order do you think Dalinar is in? Bondsmiths, Stonewards, or something else entirely?
