  1. We have WoB or something that says Rlain reached squire level?
  2. Its hard to capture shaking hands in a still frame.
  3. The only way I see this being redeemed is if he/she responds w/ something like, "Psych! I got you good you loyal, uptight, cant-take-a-joke, overly defensive $%#@ers!" Until then I'm going to continue to be a loyal, uptight, cant-take-a-joke, overly defensive $%#@er.
  4. I wonder if we can take this theory and then apply it to voidbinding and voidspren? Are voidbringers those that voidbind? Are the listeners voidbringers or is that a broad term that, over the ages, was applied to a larger scope of creatures. Would this term only be applicable to the humans that attract these certain spren, as this theory says about surgebinders?
  5. When Syl is trying to protect Kal from the highstorm and also when she is trying to fend of the death and/or rot spren.
  6. The differences, as I see it, are that Vin + Elend are young adults maturing and trying to find their identity and where they belong. Wax and Wayne are grown adults who have already formed an identity. So in a comparison of character growth and internal struggle I think Vin + Elend win. However, I disagree with your opinion about Wax and Wayne feeling like people. Wax to me seems absolutely real. Headstrong, my way or the highway, lawman. Original? Probably not, but people are not original. I guess I can see Wayne not feeling real as he may be a bit too farfetched, but Wayne is my favorite. He's got a Calvin and Hobbes vibe where he is deep and contemplative, but absolutely absurd.
  7. Awesome, much appreciated, gentlemen. I'll have to check out that mythbusters episode. I feel like speed is one of the most powerful. With the proper precautions, and the proper utility, you could accomplish a great many things just by being fast.
  8. I just found this WoB, came here to make a thread about it, and happened upon this related thread. Can any of you science nerds expound on Brandon's answer to more directly answer the original question? How fast could someone run before they burnt up? Would that be fast enough for them to run up walls or over water etc. like the Flash?
  9. I came across this in one of my rereads and am beyond curious as to who or what this might be. Kaladin notices this when he and Shallan are sitting in the alcove she carved out after killing the chasmfiend. I'm sure there has already been some speculation on the matter, if not already an answer. Who or what is this supposed to be? Just parshendi going out to bond spren or something else?
  10. Aye, thanks Kanrei. Here is the excerpt from WoR: “I waited until you crashed to the ground,” the man said, “until you were broken and mangled, your soul cut through, dead for certain. Then, I restored you.” “Impossible.” “Not if it is done before the brain dies. Like a drowned man restored to life with the proper ministrations, you could be restored with the right fabrial. If I had waited seconds longer, of course, it would have been too late.”
  11. Not sure why people are disregarding nightblood as a cause for this. We're on an entirely different world with a different magic system. Who is to say what effect nightblood has on any of it? Until there is overwhelming evidence against it being nightblood, I'm sticking with him as the cause.
  12. I'm fairly certain it has to do with timing. I don't have access to excerpts from either story at the moment, but If i remember correctly the amount of time that has passed was mentioned in each circumstance.
  13. What I glean from that post is that if we can find out where WoR is being pressed or if we can intercept the shipments, then we could get our hands on an early copy.
  14. I've seen you mention this before, but I'm curious to know how you think this would be possible. Not that it isn't, but to me it would seem unlikely as Syl is the only 'honorspren' that was allowed to come back. <-- This being contingent on said honorform requiring honorspren to achieve the form, but I think that's a fairly safe assumption.
