  1. Or, we're thinking about this all wrong, and Spikey is not a person, but an ideal, spiritual reference, or an organization's logo. Just think of the Chaos we would cause if we sent 50 US Quarters (one with each state stamped on it). Would they try and melt it down to see what metal it really was? Or would they try and figure out what all the symbols meant. Also, I don't think we should completely eliminate Marsh for this reason.
  2. I was thinking of when Shalan made her illusion, then inhaled the stormlight to banish the illusion... That's what made me wonder about the shadeplate. Could anyone with the ability to invest/infuse stormlight have taken the stormlight from her illusion? I would hope not, but I don't think we have any facts to say otherwise. And about the plate, I don't think you have to see a gem to be able to use it's light.. Which makes me wonder if the plate itself is protecting it. What would protect it? Aluminum? Could ShadPlate be made from Aluminum?
  3. Can someone who can infuse themselves with stormlight, from gemstones, take the stromlight from shardplate? If not why?
  4. Even though we will probably never see it, I would love to see Dalinar weilding The Stormfather. I can picture the blade in my mind, with the blade made of pure stormlight.
  5. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Susebron The wiki says He "WAS" the god king of Halladren. Is this just a typo or am I not remembering something,
  6. Vasher slew Shashara because she was going to release the knowledge on how to make sentient sword. And now he's on Roshar. Anyone else see the irony in that?
  7. So the general consensus is that Nightblood would not harm Vasher, and if Szeth tried, it would be bad for him. I wonder if perhaps Nightblood could compel Szeth to give nightblood back to Vasher (whether Vasher wanted it or not). If the first few hours are read only memory, then Nightblood might as well call Vasher Dad. It's a little weird that Nightblood dwells on the past, yet has no concept of time.
  8. Has anyone asked Brandon if Nightblood would allow Szeth to use it against Zahel? I can't stop speculating that Nightblood decided that Zahel is evil for some reason now, and that's how he lost it. He does mention he misses it. Also, in the timeline of Stormlight Archive, does/would Zahel feel sick around Nightblood? I know someone who has drawn Nightblood has the nausea suppressed. We know Brandon doesn't just say 'It would be cool if people who were good felt sick around the sword', the mechanics of the magic system (oxymoron anyone?) cause the effect. Luckily, Brandon never comes to Florida, because I would ask something stupid like 'What would happen if Hoid had all 10 honor blades ducktaped to his body, and consumed Aluminum, Duralium, Malatium, and Lerasium at the same time, while sitting on a giant soulstone floating in the purelake?'
  9. I also really liked "The Diagram". It's not a moment per-say, but I just have this picture in my mind of Brandon renting a storage shed somewhere, furnishing it, and actually writing all this stuff out all over the room in brilliant insanity. I'd also like to know if he wrote the in-world "Worlds of Radiance" book completely.
  10. I'm answering this before I read anyone else's replies so I'm not swayed. 1) Kaladin finally stop whining, the glyph appearing behind him as he states 'The knights radiant have returned' 2) Lift and her Awesomeness. 3) Realization that Hoid has used the Lerasium, and is using Allomancy on Roshar, Which 'pushes' a theory I made over a year ago that there is a pattern to the magic systems on all the shards. My original theory is in my sig. 4) Pattern saying "Voidbringers have no pattern. Besides, I have read of them in your lore. They speak of spindly arms like bone, and horrific faces. I should think, if you wish to find one, the mirror might be a location where you can begin your search". I had to stop reading, and I was wheezing with tears in my eyes. 5) Syl changing from sword to spear to shield to hammer. 6) Last, but not least, "The Lopen".
  11. Wouldn't that depend on the if Roshone could defend himself or not? Because if he didn't protect Roshone if he could not protect himself then he's not following the ideals. That's my point. There is contradiction.
  12. I find that debatable. Kaladin doesn't do it because he's a good person. He does it because Alokahr is important to Dalinar, and he was killing Syl. I would say he does it because he changed his mind and decided it was right thing to do, after ignoring his conscious and Syl for so long His motivations seem more related to the guilt of the people around him dying then being a good person.
  13. "Oh, you mean that other one. No, Brightness, I sold that one to a slaver a few weeks ago." Liss grimaced. We have no idea which slaver it was sold too. The Parshendi had not decided to kill the King until that night, when Dalinar had shared 'his plans' with them. We don't know how the stone got from the slaver, to the Parshendi. Again, this is a theory, but the Parshendi knew what the oathstone was, I think Liss knew where the slaver was headed, and knew the Parshendi would get ahold of it. A lot of speculation, I know. But there are no coincidences.
