  1. This was my question, yay! The new Epics are the ones from the "case files" in the various exclusive editions of Steelheart, namely Newton, Regalia, and (I believe) Obliteration.
  2. The word "honorable" can hardly be coincidental. The word "broken" also stands out. Might this be related to the splintering of Honor?
  3. One thing I've heard (possibly from Writing Excuses) is that readers typically skip over the dialogue tags anyway, once we figure out who is speaking. So in a way, a different verb or adverb with each one can be distracting. It also goes against "show, don't tell". But I suppose it's a personal preference. I haven't seen many examples of that in published works.
  4. I think season 8 is not in the archive area because it is still "active". The episodes are accessible on the main part of the WE website or in the podcast feed (via a podcast app).
  5. My mistake. Thickness affects the height of the forcefield, straightness affects the strength (p. 257 hardcover).
  6. The book also states that the thickness of a Line of Forbiddance affects its strength. Maybe Lines of Warding (i.e. circles) behave the same. So the circle in Nebrask might be wicked thick to counteract its shallow curve.
  7. I see we've Ventured into cosmere-related pick-up lines (That was almost inadvertent)
  8. "asthetic" instead of "aesthetic"?
  9. Dang, I'd love to see that map.
  10. http://www.tor.com/blogs/2013/05/the-rithmatist-magic "Brandon Sanderson’s The Rithmatist Could Have Been an RTS Named ChalkCraft" Amusing article by Carl Engle-Laird, half of the Stormlight Archive re-read. Starcraft references abound.
  11. I first thought of something like a wilderness guide. I assumed a "trailman's" flute would be made more rugged, to survive in harsher conditions.
  12. Does the size of a spike have any affect on Hemalurgy? (wiki scan didn't turn up anything) If so, I could see that being a downside of using a small spike like a syringe. It would stand to reason, as the amount of metal has a clear correlation to power in Allomancy and Feruchemy.
  13. The Mistborn Adventure Game includes "The Treatise Metallurgic", which has a lot of detail about the allomantic, feruchemical, and hemalurgic properties of each metal, at least in the Final Empire time period. It's not strictly canon, but it was done with Brandon's input and blessing. Crafty Games has a sample online (PDF).
  14. Also, Ishikk mentions in his Interlude how the Purelake drains into the rock whenever highstorms go through that region... Edit: Now is a good time to buy the ebook! It's still on sale for $2.99.
