  1. Ooooh...small spren can probably wait outside the room. The Stormfather though...he can hear Dalinar's thoughts and feel his emotions. I hope he lets Dalinar have his privacy. I can't get over my mental image of the Stormfather as a silent observer...
  2. The more I learn about book 4 the less I want to read it.
  3. Huh, I think what you are describing is more Mistborn-like than Dalinar's Ascension I also don't think it will happen in book 10. Honor, if it were to happen, would be revived in book 5. Since Honor is splintered, un-splintering him would be something that never happened yet in Cosmere. Jasnah as Honor...no? She has no "Connection" to Honor. As an Elsecaller, she is more of Cultivation. Right now Cultivation has a Vessel.
  4. No, tower, crown and spear are listed together. It's one thing, not three separate things. If the spear is associated with Kaladin, then he is "the spear that needs to be picked up". So, my thought is, "tower, crown and spear" means Kaladin. Mybe his banner. And something is going to happen with Kaladin. Maybe he will die. Maybe go to Braize (like Herald).
  5. Hmm, so he's Brandon's favorite I never heard about it before, but I (If I remember correctly) read him saying Dalinar is important. But my bigger point is, Brandon would not give Dalinar Connedtion to Honor's power if it were for nothing. You don't tease things like this (like Oathbringer's ending), if you aren't going to continue. I think Dalinar is set up to reforge Honor firstly. As for Mistborn, as I mentioned before, all Shards in Mistborn were whole. But Honor is splintered. Un-splintering him would be something that never happened in cosmere yet.
  6. Imagined. Yes, it would be a different story. Much better story, at least for me. Because I find Kaladin and Shallan to be horribly boring characters. And Words of Radiance that focused soley on these two was a horrible book for me. For me, it was clear: these two characters can't handle the narrative alone. They are boring. They don't grow much. They are static. Oathbringer is much better, because it has Dalinar as one of the main povs, but if he will be "character with a few pov" in the future, I would think twice before reading these books. Because he is the character, who makes this series (for me, still IMO). I would prefere if Brandon Sanderson wrote a story of all of his characters instead of focusing it only on two of them. It means people who don't enjoy them that much cannot enjoy the series. And honestly, I'm tired of "younger generation saves the world". SA felt fresh, because it has Dalinae as a "savior". Kaladin and Shallan have their personal story arcs, but Dalinar handles more global and interesing narrative (with Odium. with unification of the world). Grown people also have their lives and stories to tell. Yes, I prefer to read about adults. No, there're no books with characters like Dalinar. I didn't read any. All in all, it will lead to nothing. People who love Dalinar, love reading him, and find Shallan or Kaladin boring won't change their minds. To each their own.
  7. So, I've been thinking. The deeper we get into Cosmere the more important and larger than life Dalinar becomes. In Oathbringer we see him managing to gather enough power (presumably through his bond with the Stormfather and Connection to Honor's remnants) to force Honor's Perpendicularity. And he is only on his Third Ideal now...Can only imagine what is in store for him. A lot of people seem to think that Dalinar is going to reforge Honor's Shard (maybe under different name/Intend of Unity). Dalinar is also very important to Brandon. So my question is, do you think Dalinar could become something more relevant to the rest of the Cosmere? Via Ascension to Honor he can actually become very important for the larger Cosmere narrative, and we've already seen some characters (particularly in Mistborn) becoming very Cosmere-relevant past their orginal role. Do you think Dalinar might be headed in a similar direction?
  8. Can't disagree more with this. Dalinar is the soul of the series for me and he's the character without whom SA wouldn't exist. "Not the character that going to be primary pov character". Huh. He is more interesting than all existing povs combined. I would be extremely disappounted if Brandon stopped writing him concidering how important he is.
  9. Dalinar's arc in Oathbringer. Simple the best thing Brandon Sanderson ever wrote (at least for me).
  10. I was disappointed in Words of Radiance too. I think everyone who loves Dalinar was disappointed with this book. If book 4 is the same I will be disappointed again. I will try to read it but...let's just say, I'm not so hyped about it anymore.
  11. Um. Maybe. I'm not sure if he needs a honorblade. For what purpose?
  12. Sigh. Sanderson was asked miltiple times if Kaladin could be another Radiand, not just Windrunner, and he answered "no". He said he've never thought about different Order for Kaladin. He's a Windrunner. That's it.
  13. I meant yet. Venli hasn't been a major character yet. In Oathbringer she is pretty much a background character even if an important one. She has had only a handful of chapters, but in the next book she is supposed to have a ton. Which is a bit weird for me. Giving such a big role to s character who was so minor before is dangerous. I may be amazing in the end, but right no I'm not convinced.
  14. I will be honest. I look at potential narratives going into the next book and realize I'm not interested in almost all of them. I was super hyped about Oathbringer, but this book however...Eshonai's chapters were probably my least favorite, and Parshendis in general definitely not something I want read about. And the whole book is Parshendi focused. Venli is such a minor character, I can't imagine her taking a major role, as well as I find flashbacks from Eshanai's perspective to be weird. I can't see anything interesting for me in the upcoming book. What I wanted to read (mostly about Dalinar) won't get ant focus most likely, and everything else...I don't find very exciting. Don't even know how to explain it better.
  15. No, but some does. As for perfect life, it (post above) was more about more normal and stable life if compare it with other characters.
