  1. The ones for Mistborn are hilarious I'll give some a try. Shades of Milk and Honey Wheel of Time Steelheart
  2. I just like that the ships in Stormlight involve discussions of morality and philosophy. Definitely more enjoyable
  3. Very true, just like storing other senses may leave one vulnerable for a time. I hadn't thought about the feeling vibrations though, that would be a good way to counteract the risk.
  4. Tineye! While it used to be my second choice of misting abilities, I'm starting to like this idea more and more.
  5. If I had to choose, I would want Allomantic Steel and Feruchemal Tin. Steelpushing is one of my favorite parts of this magic system, and I think Wax illustrates how amazing it is as an ability in an era with guns. Being able to store senses would not only serve as an advantage when tapping those reserves, but it would also provide good strategic storing opportunities. Example: In a gunfight or near an explosion, storing Hearing would deaden the sounds.
  6. I consider SA my first Sanderson books, though I guess technically it would have to be the last three Wheel of Time.
  7. Favorite book: Goblet of Fire Favorite Character: Hermione Granger - growing up with this series, I think she had a profound impact on my life and personality. Favorite Movie: Sorcerer's Stone, though I've fallen in love with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw. Hufflepuff was always a close second though. Ilvermorny house: Thunderbird. Interesting tidbit, I'm the only Ravenclaw in a house of Gryffindors, but my brother is the only Puckwudgie (sp?) in a house of Thunderbirds. Favoeite Magical Creature: Occamy
  8. I haven't tried that attack on hynoxes, will definitely have to give it a try. Found out about a week ago there are 900 koroks. My father is determined to find every one of them.
  9. About halfway through with Bleak House, and a few stories into the collection Everything and Nothing by Jorge Luis Borges.
  10. Hmm, the cookie is certainly tempting...Perhaps I'd be willing to risk a few side effects if it was a sugar cookie instead of chocolate. My favorite is probably Words of Radiance, though the Emperor's Soul surprised me by taking second place. I love the world building of all Brandon's stories, but in both of these I think the characters are incredibly compelling as well.
  11. I think allowing yourself to find what works best for your class schedule, and recognizing that you might not be as productive until you figure it out, is key. I will be attending college in the Fall, but spent two years as a dual-enrollment student at a local college. While I was not always able to get as much writing time as I would have liked, I tried to dedicate certain times each day that I could get some writing done at least.
  12. Personally I'm fairly divided on this subject. For a while I was firmly in the Kaladin/Shallan camp, but then Shallan and Adolin are just so...cute. It seems kind of corny, but in some ways they really are just a cute couple. But Kaladin and Shallan can exchange sarcastic remarks and Kaladin is smarter than Adolin so I'm back shipping Kaladin/Shallan again. I would also be perfectly alright if they just remain friends. I'm at the point now where I feel that I would be content with either pairing because I feel that the other party in the love triangle would still be a close friend. I think that is why I am actually enjoying this love triangle, a concept towards which I am often strongly opposed.
  13. Hi there! My favorite Cosmere work is Words of Radiance as well.
  14. Hi! Nice to meet a fellow new person
  15. Hi! I've known about The 17th Shard for a while now, but haven't felt that I had enough time to invest in another fan site. I was introduced to Brandon Sanderson through the Wheel of Time, and I actually started my first purely Sanderson book (The Way of Kings) after finishing The Wheel of Time at JordanCon in 2015. Since then I have read most of his published works. After attending JordanCon again this year and attending more panels in the Sanderson track, I realized how much I wanted to connect with other fans of the Cosmere. It's taken me this long to convince myself that I do indeed have the time to participate in my favorite author's official fan site, and I can't wait to explore! More general introduction material: I'm a writer, student, blogger, and craft enthusiast. I'll be attending college in the Fall to study English with a focus in creative writing, previously I was homeschooled. My preferred genres are fantasy and science fiction (steampunk in particular) though I've dabbled in historical fiction. My crafts of choice include embroidery, quilting, costuming, and knitting, to name a few. I've studied Tae Kwon Do for the past eight and a half years, and am currently a second-degree black belt. I have cats and a younger brother who I am slowly corrupting introducing to Brandon Sanderson via Alcatraz and Reckoners.
