  1. Short Question, long exposition. Question: If a Fabrial were to be made in order to amplify the sound of something (say, an instrument), what gemstone do you think is most likely to be used/would work best there? Expo: I'm a novice luthier who is working on one of my first few guitars. I'm building this for myself, and I'm trying to include references to all of my fandoms, spirituality, ethics, philosophies, etc. One thing that I wanted to include (especially with Rhythm of War's new release) is a reference to the Stormlight Archive, and I thought adding some gemstone element would look really cool. I was thinking up a way I could tie it into the canon of the Stormlight Archive, and (since this guitar is electric) I thought it would be a neat reference to add the gemstone as if the guitar were amplified by an augmenter gemstone rather than an electrical amp. I looked in the Ars Arcanum of the books and I saw the quote "I am guessing that any one of the ten Polestones would work." Now technically I know this would give me free reign to put whatever of the Polestones that I like in there, but I'm curious as to your thoughts of what might be the most applicable stone, based on their properties and uses that have already been revealed. Outside of that, what do you think would look coolest or be a sneaky cool reference? The guitar is made of Aromatic Cedar and Walnut, which give it red-and-gold tones. I'm planning on adding a piece that could change colors at my discretion, so my guess is that anything within the purple-red-yellow gradient (as well as clear, white, or black) would fit in well, whereas something a different color might look out of place Thanks!
  2. You know you're a Sanderfan when your friend trips on nothing while walking down the street and you just shout "Stop it, Syl! I'm tired of your storming jokes!"
  3. Um, actually Rock only shaved his chin and lip. The character names from the Mistborn series were based on French and Italian baby names that Brandon chose.
  4. Granted. The spren was forced into their bond to you by a committee, and is incredibly resentful. It refuses to help you surgebind and, as it just so happens to be a fearspren, terrifies you whenever it gets bored. I wish to know all the secrets of Hoid's life (lives?).
  5. Proof: Sadeas' focus on fashion could only be spurred on by having to compensate for being incredibly gross underneath his clothes, i.e having rotten zombie skin. Theory: Brandon Sanderson is secretly The Stick
  6. @Toaster Retribution Proof: We haven't seen anything in Mraize's collection from Scadrial. Plus, Breeze is a known manipulator, who would be a serious asset (or even friend?) of Mraize. Theory: Adolin is secretly an Elantrian, but because he is so far from Elantris the only abilities he has is really good skin and hair, a shadow of the usual glowing silver complexion.
  7. When you understand literally every reference in this post immediately without thinking about it.
  8. *Car Salesman Slaps top of Stick* This bad boy could be so many fires
  9. You know you're a Sanderfan when instead of real curse words, you shout "By the love of Harmony!" In the middle of science class...
  10. Hey, Welcome to the forum! This is the place where you come for Hoid's identity, and stay for 10 paragraph essays on how much Lift can actually eat. Have an upvote, but for the love of Harmony don't eat the cookies! People on here are known to spike them with Hemalurgic studs.
  11. As soon as I got Oathbringer I noticed the pictures of people on the back of the cover, but I never thought about it much. Are these people's identities confirmed? Are they even specific characters from the book? Anyone with knowledge or theories on who these people are or where they are from would be appreciated.
  12. Honestly, everyone on here is known to spike cookies. I get suspicious if anyone offers them. [OB] I've also been around Lift too much, and you have a tight butt, so I can't really trust you.
  13. Just wanted to read some possibilities on how SA could end, who you think will die before then, and any specific things that could be revealed in the next books. My favorite general theory is that someone (I'm thinking Taravangian, Dalinar, Venli, or a Herald) Will sacrifice themselves or be sacrificed in a new version of the Oathpact after a war with the listeners.
  14. Welcome to the 17th, Have an upvote! This is where you'l come for Hoid's true identity, and stay for 10 paragraph essays describing the science of how much Lift can actually eat. Just a warning, though: Benjamin is known for spiking both batches of cookies, so I wouldn't recommend having any.
