I'm a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson, and I love learning about the cosmere and spotting the hidden cameos, even though I am rubbish at it. In my spare time I play videogames.

  1. I also liked that section. Just made me love Renarin even more xD. (Please give Renarin more screen time. He's not my favorite character in the series (Kaladin, Wit) but he's still cool, and I feel like he has been shoved into the background for pretty much everything except the OB climax)
  2. Lol I'm definitely understand now why this entire idea would be bad for the series. Honestly, it was just a random thought I had that I wanted to share with the forums. (On that matter, can I just say that the 17th shard is the best forum site I have been a part of. No dislike system, everyone is friendly, everyone is interested in what you have to say, and threads rarely get buried). Back to the topic, I still hold to the belief that it would be cool to have children of era 1 characters in era 2. The story arc will end eventually. At some point the characters will settle down and not have to worry about fighting voidbringers and stuff (at least until era 2). So in my eyes, why not?
  3. Alright. I get the point. It wouldn't be a good idea. I still think it could happen though. I didn't really think the idea through properly, it was just a thought. Thx for the replies
  4. All I can think about was NO MATING! That quote is even better than the infamous I am a stick.
  5. I think I read somewhere that books 3 and 4 would have a 1 year gap between them. Many things could happen then, but I assume it will be mostly fighting, and probably a time for some Radiants to catch up on a few more oaths. I had a shower thought earlier, and that was that now Adolin and Shallan are married, is it plausible to imagine that they will have a child in this time gap? I think it could create quite a bit of plot threads for the two characters... What do you guys think?
  6. Speaking of that, I honestly expected him to submit to Odium. I was surprised, but pleased, when he didn't. At the start of the book I actually thought Renarin would be the champion for some obscure reason. Most of my theories in these books have almost no evidence to back them up, but that's just the fun of reading xD
  7. These are all good theories. I especially like As the fourth ideal.
  8. Teft and Lopen personally annoyed me. Lopen especially felt like a slap in the face to people like Kaladin and Shallan, people who lived horrifying lives in order to redeem themselves as radiants. I think it would have been better to just leave them as squires, honestly. And for Skar to not even be one, like you said. We need more main viewpoints about people that are out of their league with all this Radiant stuff. Adolin was so fun to read in OB because of this. I could spend days talking about Oathbringer lol.
  9. I assumed that 'I killed my father" was a truth, but "I am terrified" wasn't. I personally think its safe to assume that Shallan got her blade early, possible even at the first ideal, but maybe that's just me. I'm starting to realise just how varied the orders were in regards to oaths. I thought the Windrunner system was the standard, with a few unique ones like the Lightweavers, but it seems safe to say that all orders are completely different in how the approach the oaths, such as Skybreakers being able to use Surges before bonding a spren.
  10. I am glad to read other peoples opinion on the topic. Sometimes it's nice for people to disagree with you xD
  11. Let's have a moment of silence. On a side note, the main characters have always been flashback characters. Since Eshonai is dead, I think the star character for book 4 will be Venli, with Eshonai as the flashbacks.
  12. If she is one oath above Kaladin, why doesn't she have Plate? OB confirms that Radiants get Plate at the fourth ideal. So why doesn't Shallan have some? Just wondering.
  13. Go ahead and critisize me, but I feel like her death was hyped up way too much. We all knew he killed her, from the start of the book. It was obvious. What I was waiting for was for Brandon to make Dalinar kill her in a way that would actually shake me to the core. Yet, he accidentally burns her during a raid. So? I think I might be heartless, but it wasn't dramatic enough for me. It needed more for what it was hyped to be. Way more. As I said, an unpopular opinion.
  14. Ideas? The other Windrunner attribute is Leading, isn't it? So it might be something to do with leadership rather than protecting. I will protect those who are leaderless? No, that's terrible. I'm rubbish at this. Anybody else have a better idea?
  15. Exact same. Although after reading Oathbringer, I'm starting to wonder how much insight the prologue can honestly give us now. Unless it does the perspective of Kalak or someone who was at the party for a reason unrelated to the murder.
