If I am remembering correctly, Pattern was not able to hide from the sailors like Syl is able to. But I am just now getting to rereading WoR, and that was in the beginning. I don't really remember if, as he grew in intelligence, he was then able to hide. I understand that they are from to different orders, so there may not be a basis for comparing them, in that respect. I haven't read Edgedancer but I understand there are some more examples of other Truthwatchers that one could use as an example. I believe that Pattern was somehow locked or stayed in a trunk to travel but I have no idea where that was mentioned.

@Phaedra Yulahnis for this theory. Do we ever find out what is in Renarin's Box that he carries around with him everywhere? It could be that his spren is in the box and that is his way of hiding it? What do yu guys think?

I really like the idea that Renarin's 'fits' were of him having a vision or slight glimpse of the furture. His 'seizures cause him to lose control of his body, just like Dalinar was unable to control himself during his highstorm visions. While I don't think the visions are the same thing, I think they are related possibly both originating from a spren. Dalinar sees memories from the past, sent, as we know, by honor. Whereas Renarin sees glimpses of the future. But the important thing is that we know that very powerful spren have the ability to see something of what might happen in the future, just like Renarin does. I postulate that his spren is like a channel, allowing him to access a more powerful spren's ability to see the future. So it is not necessarily a voidspren or anything like that that is letting him see the future. Edit: This could be wrong possibly because Renarin has always been epileptic, but as we have seen with Shallan, you can bond with a spren as a very young child. In this case, maybe binding with his spren(That he managed to keep secret all this time) is what caused his weakness and epilepsy. I don't know how much detail they go into about when or why they think he showed this blood sickness. It doesn't seem to run in the family as far as I know.

Ohh, I see. That makes things interesting then. Adolin and Shallan are really cute together and I whole heartedly support their ship. I could see Lift possibly with Kaladin but as I've not read Edgedancer, I don't know as much about Lift as some. I wish the Oathbringer would come out sooner because I need my Stormlight fix.

I think it's cool that he's so involved with his fanbase, because some authors just ignore it. I really don't think there's any basis to my "theory" it was just a funny thought I had, and I'm sure some theories may turn out to be true or partly true. Theorizing fills in the agonizing gaps between actually waiting for the book to come out and brings the fans closer to each other and to the author

Yeah, I agree that it's not an important plot line for him and I think he probably needs to grow more as a character before he can reallly have a 'romance'. But that being said, I don't want ANY romances to take away from the awesome story that is Stormlight, I do appreciate a bit of romance though. Also, side note, I read WoR probably about a year ago and I am just now getting to rereading it, for the release of Oathbringer later in Novemebr(which can't come soon enough), so I guess I just forgot about the flashbacks with Tarah in them. Still though, I am so excited to see who ends up with who, just as long as it's not overdone!

So, what do you bet that Brandon Sanderson has a secret account on this website and goes around commenting and generally lurking on posts. What if he gets his ideas from our predictions and then the predictions end up being right? This probably has no basis in fact but it was something funny to think about.

That's AWESOME! I read some of that stuff in one of the other threads so that's really cool. Especially the 'Minor' Spren as you call them, I thought about them but couldn't figure out a good way to write it down. I also think your guesses are probably spot on too. The resonances really made sense to me as well. It seems that every order has a specific attribute or power that comes along with it, besides the obvious surges.
