  1. Could be a difference in the degree of torture...could be he was the most recent to break.
  2. In Dalinars vision fighting the midnight essences, one of the radiants questions who released the midnight mother. This implies that she was imprisoned and freed at least once prior to the Eighth Epoch. She could have been imprisoned multiple times, but today's chapter I read to imply a solo imprisonment.
  3. If you want ill pm it to you for discussion early once I firm it up more.
  4. There may not have been an Unmade for the first Desolation. Odium may have come in the exact way he did on Sel. The point about knowing they had to leave is good to. That would up the minimum to 11....I saw the new fool, but can't update either of those theories until Oathbringer is spoiler unlocked. I will be combining several theories into one huge one then. Also go look at the voidbringer glyph analysis thread. It talks about partial inversions of the symbols and such.
  5. Well here are some thoughts. Vedel is associated with diamond, Lucentia, the eyes, glass or clear crystals. Her attributes are Loving and healing. The eyes are the key to the soul. Love is the key to the heart. Healing is the key to life. Diamond is traditional in marriage. Demonstrating a bond between man and wife. It is also a lock in the sence that married women should be off limits.
  6. @Steeldancer check out the Heralds become Fools and Oathpact links in my signature. Both have some ideas you might want to consider.
  7. That is one of my pet theories....it can be found in the Heralds become fool's thread in the signature.
  8. @Calderis thanks...I hope the new Wobbinator likes kindle format more than Reddit and excel do...
  9. Ok I numbered and bolded rather than cutting portions of quotes so that the context is still there. 1) I read this differently, to me it seemed the at the blessing was because no stone was broken to get the metal. No mining, no more collection, no smelting etc. IE no stone was harmed. The miracle was in the lack of harm to stone rather than the metal itself. 2) We have a WOB stating that it was only Szeths personal honor binding him to the Oathstone. I will find it and edit it in shortly. 3) MBSH showed us what happens at Death on Scadrial; are you saying that it works differently on each planet in the Cosmere? 4) very interesting observation, I had forgotten his obsession with stones. Edit: I can only find the 2 RAFO ones on heartland right now. It must be in the Reddit ones, and that is acting up on me right now.
  10. I am leaning more and more towards Dalinar. The Shadesmar bit doesn't trouble me too much, mostly bc we haven't seen how the nightwatcher works. We know the majority of the ones we have seen have to mostly deal with cognitive effects. The process of bestowing the curse and boon might have an effect of viewing into Shadesmar while is is being enacted, much as spoilers from a reading not yet released. This would satisfy the Shadesmar viewing statement.
  11. There are a couple in Elantris 10th anniversary edition by him if I remember correctly.
  12. The bridges were also made out of a super light weight wood. Maybe something like bamboo? Also, the use of some ropes attached near the front with Bridgemen near the back pulling while the rest pushed would cause the front end to pivot upwards? Just some idle thoughts on how to make it work.
  13. Do you have a stripped version with the colors of the stars still intact? If yes, may I have a copy?
  14. I always was under the impression that it happened much earlier. That she had been dead prior to the start. But I never really had a reason why. I might have to try to timeline it out. We have a rough timeframe for marriage, births of sons...just need to see if they mention having any older memories of her...which might be hard with no name in the first two books.
  15. This is not correct. Per this WOB answer 6. We know from the Flashbacks that the Thrill was active 30+, almost 40 years ago. Edit: But the rest of it meets logic.
  16. Ok first thoughts after reading chapters, but before comments. Well hello Blightsong....or wait Aimian...or wait Blightsong the Odium Corrupted Dysian Aimian..... Ryshadium with music spren.......do they here the Rythyms? About her recycled flashback from Unfettered 1/2. Did anything change? Highprince Regent Araman.....trouble there. Lol they like to know what is inside things....wondered how Brandon was going to explain a spren with powers like division and abrasion...
  17. And the listeners to which the original bonds were also 4 gender and neither of Honor nor Cultivation but pure Uncle Andy. One of the listener songs talk about how many of these spren abandoned the listeners in favor of the more "meaty" humans. Whatever was trapping the listeners into Parshman form has obviously been broken by the Everstorm. The same device (plot not necessarily physical) could have been limiting or trapping the yellow spren. If that was the case, the yellow spren could be pure Adonalsium spren and actually be more neutral than odious in intentions. Syl also just says him.....to which we implicate Odium, but it could be Adonalsium. The yellow spren also states that her mind are less discerning, willing to bond with listeners or humans. We know many groups of spren went to the humans, but not all. Those groups that did not all go to the humans might have been switch hitters picking either. Honor and Cultivation both pervaded human culture, but listener culture predated their arrival. By shifting to humans, the spren might have aligned themselves more with Honor and Preservation. I have never really liked the association of voidspen and voidbringers directly to Odium since Odium is anything but a void. A void being an emptyness and divine hatred being anything but empty. What is these yellow spren are Voidspen, but in the seance that they are empty of a Shardic intent. Odium would have no issues with simply taking over I would think if there was a way to divest his Investature later. Eshonai shows free will is not needed. Honor and Cultivation intended to Invest Roshar, which could have been the reasons humans were brought to Roshar in the first place. To woo the voidspen to Honor and Cultivation initially via the humans away from the Listeners. The Hearalds could have been a stop gap measure to place fairly large amounts of Investiture into the Rosharan system quickly.
  18. Ok..I think Liar of Partinel offers some insights here. But I can't discuss it per site rules...find it.
  19. While that is a compelling argument @Cowmanthethird I think that I have to side with @Yata here. Atium effected enhance destruction directly and Lerasium does enhance preservation...the thing is that basically any of the known shards mandates could probably be twisted in some way to fulfill another's..
  20. Obviously the floating guy is using Stay Calm and Chive On technique....
